The 2016 Bibian has a tightly-wound bouquet that demands more coaxing than its peers. eventually revealing pure blackberries. raspberry. cedar and light mint aromas. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. very pure and polished with some classy new oak assiduously blended. This is a classy offering and one of the best Cru Bourgeois that I have tasted this vintage. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.

Tangy and bright with vivid acidity and lots of dark-berry and citrus character plus a hint of smoke. Medium body and a long finish. Another winner after 2015.

The 2016 d'Aiguilhe is absolutely delicious. Succulent. nuanced and inviting. the 2016 has so much to offer. Ripe cherry. plum. French oak. mocha. new leather and spice all flesh out effortlessly. Deep. generous and resonant. the 2016 captures all the best the vintage has to offer. Sweet. silky tannins add to the wine's considerable appeal. It would be nice to see a bit less overtness to the oak. The wine really does not need it. In 2016. d'Aiguilhe is very pretty. Tasted two times.

The 2017 Dalem is vinified without SO2 and sees 40% new oak. It has a clean and precise bouquet with perfumed blackberry and freshly picked mint aromas. Chateau de la Riviere 2016 Fronsac mit 89 Punkte vom Vinous-TeamAntonio Galloni im Januar 2019:

The 2016 La Rivière is dark. dense and absolutely delicious. Blackberry jam. chocolate. espresso and licorice all flesh out in this brooding. potent Fronsac. Although not especially subtle. the La Rivière packs a real punch and is a real pleasure to taste.

The 2016 La Dauphine is fabulous. Exotic. super-ripe and flamboyant to the core. the 2016 possesses tremendous depth and tons of personality. Blackberry jam. plum. chocolate. espresso. spice and licorice give the 2016 its distinctly dark personality. The extracted style brings out darker shades of fruit and heavy torrefaction notes at the expense of fruit brightness and freshness. which is a stylistic choice. I would prefer to drink the 2016 over the next few years.

89 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Escurac 2016Vinous / Neal Martin Januar 2019:

The 2016 Escurac has a well defined. tobacco-tinged bouquet that is very classic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin. quite strong tobacco notes interlacing the black fruit but with admirable precision and detail on the finish. Well made. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.

Extremely perfumed with lots of cabernet character. such as flowers and blackcurrants. Full body. a pretty core of fruit and very polished tannins that fold into the fruit. Extremely well crafted. A blend of 69 per cent cabernet sauvignon. 28 per cent merlot and three per cent petit verdot. Needs two or three years to come together. Try after 2022.

The 2016 Belgrave is gorgeous. Striking aromatics and silky. nuanced fruit give the 2016 much of its considerable immediacy and overall appeal. This expressive. beautifully layered Haut-Médoc has a lot to offer.

89 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Belgrave 2016 Haut MedocVinous / Neal Martin Januar 2019:

The 2016 Belgrave has a focused cedar and earth bouquet. displaying plenty of sous-bois. but with black fruit tucked in just behind. The palate is nicely balanced. although it lacks a little substance. That said. I appreciate the delineation on the finish. which reveals pencil shavings and tobacco on the aftertaste. This just attenuated too much for my liking.
