91 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin bewertet den Chateau Saintayme 2016 im Januar 2019:

The 2016 Saintayme is quite deep in color. The bouquet unfurls gradually to reveal blackberry. briar and light cedar aromas. all gentle and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins on the entry. a slightly chalky texture and a fine bead of acidity. This is a more masculine Saintayme compared to other vintages. displaying more grip and salinity toward the finish. I suspect that. given its amazing value. this will be consumed early. but personally. I would stash it away for three or four years. because it has more to give.

91 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denLisa Perrotti Brown im November 2018:
The 2016 Saintayme has a medium garnet-purple color and opens with cedary scents over a core of black and red plums. kirsch and unsmoked cigars plus a touch of smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied and packed with savory layers. it has a solid frame of grainy tannins and a nice. long finish.

93 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Saintayme 2016 Saint Emilion Grand CruJames Suckling im Februar 2019:

Beautiful aromas of blackberries and blueberries with licorice. Medium-bodied. juicy and delicious with lots of succulent fruit and a hazelnut and berry aftertaste. Delicious already. Drink or hold.

Weitere Informationen:

The 2018 Tour Saint Christophe represents a new level of elegance, precision and finesse for this estate in Saint-Émilion's Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes district. Silky and exceptionally polished, the 2018 oozes class. Moreover, the heavy extraction and strong torrefaction notes that marked previous vintages of the recent past have been replaced by beautifully precise, vibrant fruit. Tour Saint Christophe is one of best values in Saint-Émilion. I haven't always loved Tour Saint Christoph, but I love the 2018. It's a fabulous effort from Technical Director Jérôme Aguirre and his team. Don't miss it.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denVerkostungsnotiz von Lisa Perotti Brown vom März 2021:

The 2018 Badette comes from the lieu-dit Badette in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes. The blend is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine was aged in 50% new and 50% second year oak barrels for around 18 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with bold notions of stewed black plums, Christmas pudding and Black Forest cake, followed by hints of Chinese five spice, woodsmoke and pencil shavings. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive freshness countering the densely packed black fruit preserves flavors, framed by ripe, rounded tannins, finishing on a lingering exotic spice note. The alcohol weighed in at 14% this year.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denThe 2018 Badette is an exciting wine. Inky blue/purplish fruit, chocolate, licorice, spice, lavender and mocha all blast out of the glass. Unctuous and flamboyant to the core Badette is one of the more overt, opulent wines readers will find in Saint-Émilion and yet it has plenty of supporting vibrancy to play off its richness. All the elements come together so effortlessly. The blend is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
