Complex aromas of cranberries, ripe strawberries, smoke and dried flowers with hints of mushrooms. Slate, too! Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. This is powerful and structured, with seriousness all around. Give it three or four years to open. Try after 2023.

The 2018 Emma's Block Mature Vine Pinot Noir is all about tannins this year. They swarm through the mouth with buzzing energy and movement and seem to be seamlessly attached to the flavor at every juncture. A wine that cannot be described without discussing the shape and feel of the tannins. The fruit is ripe and supple, with a bounty of red fruits and exotic spice. Tinker's Field, eine einzigartige Parzelle in Rippon, ist ein sanfter, nach Norden ausgerichteter Hang, der von einem alten Auswurfkegel aus grobem Schiefergestein gebildet wird. Tinker's Field beherbergt die ältesten Rebstöcke des Anwesens und ist nach dem visionären Gründer von Rippon, Rolfe Mills (Tink für seine Freunde), und dem Land, das er seit seiner Kindheit zu bewirtschaften träumte, benannt.

Aromas of cherries, dried strawberries, fresh flowers and orange peel. Yet, the nose remains subtle and complex. The 2018 Tinker's Field Mature Vine Pinot Noir is rich and full—the wine is still stretched over its gray tannic scaffold (graphite, pencil shavings, black tea, star anise, et al.)—but it has flesh and bounce as well. Sottomonte - der Name des Sauvignon Blanc der Aziende Agricola reflektiert die Herkunft der Trauben. Diese stammen von Reben in den Weinbergen der Ortschaft Cormons, am Fuße eines Hügels, wo die Böden etwas tiefer sind und die Feuchtigkeit besser behalten. Giorgio Badin keltert hieraus mit dem Ronco del Gelso Sauvignon Sottomonte DOC Friuli Isonzo 2021 einen rebsortentypischen Wein mit zarter Aromatik und einer überzeugenden Geschmeidigkeit.
