The palate has polished. lustrous appeal. and dark plums and ripe blueberry flavors abound. Long. deep-set tannins with incredible depth. This has x-factor depth and elegance. Best from 2025.

A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. the 2015 Hosanna had a medium garnet-purple color. charging out of the glass with an exotic perfume of smoked meats. truffles. sandalwood and Indian spices over a compelling core of cherry cordial. blackberry tart and blueberry compote plus suggestions of garrigue and rose hip tea. The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut. muscular black and blue fruits. with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness. finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. Incredibly seductive and just plain delicious right now. hedonists can enjoy this captivating wine while it’s relatively young. while traditionalists can wait ten years and drink it over the next 25 years or more.

This has the creamy magic texture of all superb 2015 Pomerol. Full and ultra-velvety with a creamy. minerally and citrus rind mouth feel. Amazing depth of fruit. A triumph. 82% merlot and 18% cabernet franc.

The 2015 Hosanna is a blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. Now Hosanna is usually quite exuberant on the nose at this early stage. however. this is a very different Hosanna - much more reserved and introverted. yet still complex with a melange of black fruit. undergrowth. truffle and brine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. plenty of truffle-tinged fruit. a lovely spicy edge and a persuasive peacock's tail finish that lingers long in the mouth while maintaining wonderful freshness. This is an outstanding Hosanna from the JP Moueix team. perhaps the first vintage to really convince me of its greatness since its debut.

Sattes Purpur-Granat. dicht in der Mitte. lila Schimmer aussen. Recht offenes. ausladendes Bouquet. Brombeerennoten. Fliedertöne. feinschichtig. mittlerer Aromendruck. War er nasal vielleicht zaghaft. so zeigt er im Gaumen Fülle und Aromatik. beim Schlürfen entwickelt sich ein richtig gehendes Cassis-Inferno. Komplex. aber nicht kompliziert. Irgendwie wird das ein Modell Immerschön. Also ganz toll bereits in der Jugend und dann lange gross im Alter.

The 2015 Vieux Château Certan is every bit as magnificent from bottle as it was from barrel. Rich. sumptuous and explosive in the glass. the 2015 is pure class. The flavors are deep and boldly sketched in this sumptuous. spectacularly ripe Pomerol. Inky blue/purplish fruit. spice. lavender. licorice and menthol all develop in the glass. but it is the wine's textural richness and intensity that stand out most. As good as the 2015 is today. it is going to need at least 15-20 years to be at its very best. Is there anything more I can ask of the 2015? No. there is not. This is a tremendous showing.

The 2015 Vieux Chateau Certan was bottled in mid-May as usual. This was one of the wines of the vintage out of barrel. and now it has a compelling bouquet with blackberry. smoke and iris. There is wonderful delineation here. a cerebral bouquet that is quite mercurial in the glass. traces of black truffle emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and just a killer line of acidity. a Vieux Chateau Certan surfeit with energy and joie de vivre. It fans out in glorious. almost swaggering fashion with truffle and white pepper. a touch of truffle on the persistent finish. This is clearly destined to be one among the canon of legendary wines from the estate although it does deserve requisite cellaring. This is one of the wines of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2025 - 2055.

The 2019 Vieux Château Certan is even better from bottle than it was from barrel. It is very clearly one of the highlights on the Right Bank. Soaring aromatics are immediately captivating. There is an exoticism in the 2019 that I saw from barrel that is evident in the bottled wine, but today, I see more balance and harmony. Crème de cassis, licorice, lavender, spice and rose petal blend into a core of red/purplish berry fruit. All the elements are so well balanced. The Grand Vin is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, but the blend also includes one lot of young vine Cabernet Sauvignon that was added for its aromatic presence. That decision paid off in spades, as the 2019 is truly magical.

The 2019 Vieux Château Certan was picked September 23–27 and October 2–3, and matured in two-thirds new oak. Alexandre Thienpont mentioned that the 2019 includes a lot of Cabernet Sauvignon, which displayed such distinctive aromatics that he had to include it in the final blend (unlike in 2020). He pointed to a scent of immortelle, a plant that grows on sand dunes. This was stunning as a barrel sample, and there is no change in bottle. It still delivers exquisitely delineated, vivacious scents of red fruit, touches of crushed stone and a suggestion of brine. The palate is medium-bodied and classic in style, the expressive Cabernet components complementing the Merlot. There’s fine backbone here, and this VCC fans out gloriously on the finish, with a surfeit of freshness and tension. Yet unlike some recent vintages, this is a Pomerol that says "Attendez!" Give it a decade in a cellar if you know what’s good for you.

Inky ruby/purple with stunning concentration. a multidimensional mouthfeel. skyscraper-like texture and fabulous purity of blue. red and black fruits. this is a tour de force from this estate owned by Christian Moueix. The potential complexity and sheer compelling quality of Hosanna is amazing. Aromatically. this may be the most profound wine of the vintage. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and very harmonious and refined. The sample at the château showed a touch more backbone than the one at the London UGC tastings. offering plenty of blackberry and black olive notes and then turning saline toward the dense. muscular finish. A classy. sophisticated Clinet that will reward those with the nous to cellar it for several years. Outstanding.

It is not a fruit-forward. sensual Pomerol - this is much more intellectual. like some of the older Le Gay that I tasted during the Robin sisters era. The palate is very well balanced with plenty of red fruit. structured like Le Gay usually is with brown spices and clove towards the persistent finish. It is one of the appelation's most fascinating wines and it should age with style.

Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with energetic red and black fruits, textured with ripe, rounded tannins and loads of freshness, finishing on a compelling mineral note.
