Wow. What a wine with incredible depth of fruit and generosity here. Walnut. chocolate. black olive and dark fruits. Full and rich. It goes on for minutes. Velvety texture. Best in decades. A majority of merlot with some cabernet franc and a touch of cabernet sauvignon.

The 2015 Vieux Château Certan is every bit as magnificent from bottle as it was from barrel. Rich. sumptuous and explosive in the glass. the 2015 is pure class. The flavors are deep and boldly sketched in this sumptuous. spectacularly ripe Pomerol. Inky blue/purplish fruit. spice. lavender. licorice and menthol all develop in the glass. but it is the wine's textural richness and intensity that stand out most. As good as the 2015 is today. it is going to need at least 15-20 years to be at its very best. Is there anything more I can ask of the 2015? No. there is not. This is a tremendous showing.

The 2015 Vieux Chateau Certan was bottled in mid-May as usual. This was one of the wines of the vintage out of barrel. and now it has a compelling bouquet with blackberry. smoke and iris. There is wonderful delineation here. a cerebral bouquet that is quite mercurial in the glass. traces of black truffle emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and just a killer line of acidity. a Vieux Chateau Certan surfeit with energy and joie de vivre. It fans out in glorious. almost swaggering fashion with truffle and white pepper. a touch of truffle on the persistent finish. This is clearly destined to be one among the canon of legendary wines from the estate although it does deserve requisite cellaring. This is one of the wines of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2025 - 2055.

The vines average 35 years in age, and the élevage spans 16-18 months in 50% new French oak. Wieder zurück in das etwas würzigere Fruchtsegment mit Holunder nicht ganz reifer Johannisbeere, zarte rote Kirsche, gewisse Würze insgesamt zeigend. Im Mund mit eebnfalls einem gewissen Tanninbiss, nicht zu saftig im Mund, aber auch kein störendes Tannin. Die Säure stützt, bleibt aber auf der mittelkräftigen Schiene, mit etwas Zeit zeigt er mehr Frucht ist saftiger. Zarter Ausklang. Wird vielleicht mit dem weiteren Ausbau an Mitte und Harmonie gewinnen. Die Cuvee für den Latour a Pomerol 2021 besteht aus 100% Merlot. Die Lese erfolgte zwischen dem 23. September und dem 1. Oktober.

Rein Merlot aus einem 8-Hektar-Grundstück in Pomerol, das 2021 Château Latour A Pomerol hat ein charmantes, direktes Parfüm aus würzigen Rot- und Schwarzfrüchten, Leder, getrockneten Blumen und würzigem Holz. Das setzt sich fort zu einem mittelkräftigen, runden, mundfüllenden 202ia, das samtenen Tanninen, eine gute Gesamtbalance und herausragende Länge hat. Es bietet heute reichlich Genuss, wird aber in kühlen Kellern in den nächsten 15 Jahren oder mehr bestens reifen. Es ist ein herausragendes Pomerol.

Pflaumenkerne, Walnüsse, Orangenschale und getrocknete Blumen in der Nase. Etwas Mokka und Muskat. Mittlerer bis voller Körper, poliert und duftend, mit Schichten von gewürzten Früchten, umrahmt von straffen, sehr feinen Tanninen. Lang und sich entwickelnd. Am besten ab 2026.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung. Nach feinem Cassis, schwarze Waldbeeren, mit Brombeerkonfitüre unterlegt, ein Hauch von Kräuterwürze und Tabak. Engmaschig, straff, mineralisch, rote Beerenfrucht, feine, tragende Tannine, mineralisch, noch etwas unterentwickelt, wird von weiterer Flaschenreife profitieren.

Der 2021er Hosanna bietet eine solide Darbietung in der Flasche, vermengt Aromen von Cassis und minzigen Heidelbeeren mit Vorstellungen von Backschokolade, Lakritze und Bleistiftspänen. Mittel- bis vollmundig, fleischig und geschichtet, ist er für den Jahrgang vergleichsweise reichhaltig, mit süßen, pudrigen Tanninen und einem würzigen Abgang.

Eines meiner Lieblings-Châteaus, der 2021er Château Hosanna besteht zu 75% aus Merlot und zu 25% aus Cabernet Franc von 4,5 Hektar blauen Tonerdeböden im Herzen von Pomerol. Geerntet zwischen dem 24. September und dem 6. Oktober, präsentiert er sich in einem lebhaften, undurchsichtigen Purpurton mit schönen schwarzen und blauen Früchten, Eisen, Graphit und feuchter, erdiger Aroma- und Geschmacksnoten. Er ist reichhaltig, mittelschwer und verfügt über eine gute Konzentration sowie reife, aber zunehmende Tannine. Dieser quintessentielle Pomerol verdient 4-5 Jahre Flaschenalterung und wird in den folgenden 15-20 Jahren glänzen.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Reife Herzkirschen, ein Hauch von Edelholz, Nuancen von Preiselbeeren und zarter Lakritze. Komplex, saftig, engmaschige Textur, feine Fruchtsüße, mineralisch, reife Tannine, verfügt über gute Länge, zartes Nougat im Nachhall, Herzkirschen im Finale.

The 2016 Hosanna is composed of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Medium garnet-purple colored. it comes spilling out of the glass with the most beautiful floral perfume of lilacs and lavender over a core of black and red cherries. black raspberries and cedar chest plus hints of tobacco and chocolate mint. Medium to full-bodied. the palate is elegantly styled with beautiful floral and cherry layers framed by velvety tannins. finishing long and fragrant.

Sanftes Pressen, statisches Absetzen und Gärung in temperaturgeregelten Bottichen für 1 bis 4 Monate stellen einen schonen "Werdegang" dieses Grauen Burgunders dar. Die Reifung für 6 bis 8 Monate ermöglicht es dem Wein, seine aromatische Vielfalt auszubauen und dann im Glas widerzugeben.

Die Verkostungsnotiz vom Weingut, 8/2025: Strahlend gelbe Farbe. In der Nase ausdrucksstark und offen mit würzigen Aromen (Pfeffer) und Trockenfrüchten. Aufdringliche florale Sortenaromen sucht man hier vergebens. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich der Wein samtig mit guter Spannung, wirkt aber dank seiner Trockenheit weder schwer noch rund. Wie die Nase bereits ankündigte, offenbart auch der Abgang komplexe Aromen. Dieser Wein harmoniert hervorragend mit vielen Speisen, von Fisch bis zu hellem Fleisch.

Der Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Turckheim 2024 ist der Einstieg in die Rieslingwelt der biodynamisch produzierenden Domaine Zind Humbrecht im elsässischen Turckheim in Frankreich. Ganz im Stile der Region überzeugt der Einstieg mit saftiger, voller Frucht, spürbarer Mineralik und der nötigen, balancierenden Säure, die sich am Gaumen aber sehr gut zu verstecken weiß und nur im Hintergrund agiert. Langes finish, viel Power.

Die Weinberge, aus denen dieser Riesling stammt, liegen auf dem sandigen/kiesigen Teil des Herrenwegs in Turckheim. Diese Talsohle wurde im Quartär von Gletschern und Flüssen geformt. Die Schichten aus großen Kieselsteinen können über 45 m tief sein. Diese Böden können in sehr trockenen Jahrgängen stark leiden, aber in regenreicheren Jahrgängen erinnern sie daran, wie wichtig eine gute Drainage ist. Dieser Talboden profitiert auch von frühen Reifebedingungen, was besonders im Jahr 2024 interessant ist. Die frühe Lese und ein ausgezeichneter Bodenstoffwechsel sorgten für eine schnelle und dynamische Gärung, die zu einem knochentrockenen Wein mit einer großartigen Struktur führte.

Verkostungsnotiz des Weingut-Trams (8/2025): Hellgelbe Farbe. Die Nase ist erwartungsgemäß noch etwas verschlossen, aber nach einer kurzen Belüftung entfalten sich komplexe fruchtige und blumige Aromen (Zitrusfrüchte, Lindenblüten…). Am Gaumen zeigt sich eine ernsthafte Struktur, getragen von einer reifen, straffen Säure in einer zarten, filigranen Textur mit moderater Kraft. Dieser Riesling ist der Inbegriff seiner Rebsorte und schon heute ein Genuss.

Potent and strap in feel. Certan de May shows the more virile side of Pomerol. The profile is decidedly sepia-toned. Readers should plan on being patient with the 2016. It is a jewel of a wine that just needs bottle age to be at its best.

A deeply intense and plush Pomerol with immaculately ripe fruit and tannins. So well executed with aromas of truffle. dark stones. coal smoke and intense dark plums and cocoa powder. The palate has an immaculate texture with very bright. velvety tannins. carrying rich dark plums. Plum pudding and Christmas cake to close. Try from 2025.
