Chateau L Evangile mit 100 Punkten bei James SucklingJames Suckling berwertet den Chateau L´Evangile 2015 Pomerol am 02.02.2018 wie folgt:

Stunning aromas of blackberries. black olives. brown sugar and dried flowers. Tar. Full-bodied. dense and layered. Superfine tannins. yet this is muscular and long. An amazing wine reminiscent of the great L’Evangiles of the 1950s. Straight track. Goes on and on. Truly great wine. Try in 2024. Just a baby.

99 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau L Evangile 2015 PomerolIn the running for the most opulent, sensationally textured, massive wine in the vintage is the 2015 L'Evangile and if tasting this beauty doesn’t make your heart rate increase, I don’t know what will. Made from 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc brought up in plenty of new oak, its ruby/plum color is followed by an awesome bouquet of blackberry jam, smoked meats, licorice, truffle, and hints of chocolate. Thick, opulent, super ripe, and decadent, with a full-bodied mouthfeel that needs to be tasted to be believed, it still stays balanced and fresh on the palate and is already impossible to resist. It’s going to keep for 3+ decades. This is one of those wines I wish every reader could taste!

The 2015 L'Evangile is composed of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc and was matured for 18 months in new oak barrels from Tonnellerie des Domaines (their own cooperage). Deep garnet-purple in color. it absolutely leaps from the glass with complex. gregarious notes of blackberry pie. plum preserves. smoked meats/charcuterie. mocha and licorice plus suggestions of cloves. black soil and unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied. rich. opulent and jaw-droppingly sexy. it has beautifully plush yet firm tannins with a lively backbone and a very long. spicy finish.

95 Sucklingpunkte für den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol James Suckling bewertet den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol:

This is a more layered and juicy wine with a soft and round tannin texture. Walnuts and chocolate. Full-bodied, gentle and welcoming to taste. Chocolate and coffee undertones. Subtle and lightly decadent. Better than I remember. Drink or hold.

94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Clos L Eglise 2015 PomerolNeal Martin bewertet den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol im April 2018:

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Clos l'Eglise has a very earthy nose of black soil, truffles and mossy bark over a core of kirsch, blackberry preserves and dried mulberries with wafts of rose hips and oolong tea. Full-bodied, richly fruited and packed with savory layers, it has a firm frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and earthy.

Also; let's see in 10 years.

A very long. linear wine with a full body and a smooth. fresh. blueberry/plum finish. An impressive wine that rolls endlessly through the finish. This has plenty of ageing potential.

The full-bodied palate is absolutely laden with taut. muscular black and blue fruits. with a solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness. finishing with languidly lingering licorice and spice flavors. The 2016 La Conseillante is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged in 70% new and 30% one-year-old French oak for 17 months. Deep garnet-purple colored. it slips provocatively out of the glass with a lifted perfume of roses. candied violets and lavender over a core of warm red and black plums. chocolate box. unsmoked cigars and baked cherries with wafts of wild thyme and tilled soil. Medium-bodied. the palate exudes polish and sophistication with bags of fragrance. freshness and energy. sporting exquisitely fine-grained tannins and finishing very long and minerally. 97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau La Conseillante 2016 PomerolVerkostungsbericht aus Januar 2019:

The 2016 La Conseillante is a brilliant wine from the team led by Technical Director Marielle Cazaux. Polished and sophisticated. the 2016 possesses stunning vertical lift. with soaring aromatics that make a strong first impression. Silky and seductive on the palate. the 2016 is all about precision and energy in the early going. It is also one of the most quite. soft-spoken Pomerols of the vintage. Hints of blackberry. lavender. licorice and spice add nuance. but in 2016 La Conseillante stands out for its sublime balance and total sense of harmony. The 2016 spent 17 months in oak. 70% new. As gorgeous as the 2016 is. my impression is that the best is yet to come. Since arriving at La Conseillante. Cazaux has changed much in the farming of the property. including introducing cover crops and limiting yields. She also now works with no sulfites in winemaking and opts for lower temperatures in fermentation. In other words. the full results of all of that work is yet to be seen. For now. though. the 2016 Conseillante is a pretty special wine. Don't miss it. Tasted two times.

97 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Domaine de la Janasse Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2020Jeb Dunnuck am 11.11.2022

Much more powerful and closed, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes comes more from the La Crau and La Janasse lieux-dits and is the usual blend of mostly Grenache with a touch of Syrah. Blackberries, graphite, scorched earth, pepper, and sappy garrigue all emerge on the nose, and it's full-bodied, has beautiful concentration, polished tannins, and a great finish. Nothing is out of place, and this perfectly balanced, authoritative, powerful, and incredibly impressive 2020 will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and evolve for 15-20 years in cold cellars.

95-98 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Domaine de la Janasse Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2020Verkostungsbericht vom 05.05.2022:

Not as rich or concentrated as I was expecting, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes still delivers ample layers of dark fruit, hints of cola, mint and spice elements. It's full-bodied, silky and long, but it looks to fall short of the quality heights reached by some other recent vintages.

The violets. roses and dark fruits are so evident but they entice you in a subtle and fresh way. Full-bodied. dense and tannic. yet everything is so in tune with everything else and there are no hard edges or loose ends. It’s like a whirlpool that draws you down and then shows you its beauty. The harmony and complexity is phenomenal. Try in 2024 but I don’t want to wait.

Super-ripe black cherry. plum. licorice. tobacco and menthol are some of the many notes pulse through this riveting Pomerol. (als Fassmuster noch 88-90 massiv aufgewertet)

Just as it was from barrel, the 2018 Duhart-Milon is a real powerhouse. Black cherry, gravel, spice, espresso and savory herbs infuse the 2018 with notable depth and power. A brooding, virile wine, the Duhart-Milon packs a serious punch. I would give it a few years to soften. The 2018 has really come together since en primeur. In fact, the bottled wine bears little semblance to the en primeur sample, which is a very good thing. There is real density and weight here, with all of the natural richness of the year.

Fabulous nose of mushrooms, like porcini, with black truffle that turns to citrus fruits such as orange and tangerine. Some vine bark. Full-bodied yet wonderfully firm and formed with refined and polished tannins. Super definition. Drink in 2018, but wonderful to experience.

95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Napanook 2013 Napa Valley Dominus EstateAntonio Galloni - Verkostungsnotiz vom Oktober 2015:

Just as magnificent from bottle as it was in barrel, the 2013 Napanook is dense, powerful and brooding, with searing intensity and extraordinary balance. Lavender, plums, violets, licorice and smoke are some of the signatures, but the 2013 exudes finesse, power and intensity. Bracing and searing, the 2013 is going to require quite a bit of patience. If anything, this is an insane level of quality for the second selection. The 2013 could turn out to be a thirty-year wine. It is every bit that magnificent, especially if given some aeration.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Napanook 2013 Napa Valley Dominus EstateRobert Parker jr. im Oktober 2015:

There are 2,000 cases of the 2013 Napanook Proprietary Red Wine, a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. This wine reflects the much higher quality that’s emerging with the second wine of Dominus, which has really become almost its own entity. Loads of loamy soil notes, grilled herbs, meat, blackcurrants, sweet kirsch and licorice are all present in this medium to full-bodied, lush, sexy wine, even in 2013. It is interesting how much more evolved and forward the 2013 Napanook is compared to the 2013 Dominus. This wine can be drunk over the next 12-15 years. In any event, both merit considerable attention from subscribers.
