The 2018 de Pressac is laced with inky red berry fruit. blood orange. mint. leather. menthol and sweet floral notes. In multiple tastings. Pressac has been quite closed and reticent. Even so. there is terrific depth and textural resonance that carries through to the layered finish. At this stage. Pressac appears to be less exuberant than it typical is at this stage. The blend is 65% Merlot. 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Carmenère. Malbec and Cabernet Franc.

29 Nov, 2021 – Baked-plum aromas., together with candied spices, earth, tobacco and light coffee, following through to a full body with firm yet polished tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. It really builds and shows loads of structure and intensity. Give it time to soften slightly, but the flavors and texture are already balanced and sophisticated. Classic style to this. The palate really builds. Try after 2026.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2019 Saint Emilion:

The 2019 Larcis Ducasse is magnificent. Deep and beautifully layered, the 2019 offers tons of youthful resonance wrapped into a super-classic frame. There is a feeling of translucence here that is so beguiling. Sweet dark cherry, tobacco, cedar, menthol and dried flowers are some of the many aromas and flavors that take shape over time. Regal and refined, with an elegant, polished finish, Larcis is magnificent in 2019. Aging in equal parts barrique and 500L tonneaux (which are rare in Bordeaux) helps preserve vibrancy. Larcis Ducasse might be the single most under the radar wine in all of Bordeaux!

94 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2019 Saint EmilionFür den Wine Spectator verköstigte James Molesworth den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2019 Saint Emilion:

Lushly layered with dark plum, fig and blackberry compote flavors, this is inlaid with singed alder and licorice root notes. Sports a burst of tobacco and warm earth hints through the finish, all while the fruit keeps pace. A lingering echo of violet is a sign of some buried purity as well. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2038.

95 Puntke vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Larcis Ducasse 2019 Saint EmilionWilliam Kelley im April 2022:

The 2019 Larcis Ducasse has turned out beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries, burning embers, spices and licorice. Full-bodied, sumptuous and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, ripe tannins and succulent acids, it's a giving, generous wine that's softer and rounder than Pavie Macquin, its stablemate. This beautiful vineyard, managed by Nicolas Thienpont, is located on the limestone slopes of Saint-Émilion, sandwiched between Pavie and Bellefont-Belcier.

Shows the thickly textured dark fruit of the vintage, with steeped plum and blackberry notes cruising through slowly, carried by alder, loam and tobacco threads. Gains nuance as it airs in the glass, showing light chalky minerality for energy and balance in the process. Approachable but no rush. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 1 Dec, 2021 – Beautiful, intense fruit, dark-earth and chocolate character on the nose. Full-bodied with great density and plush, fine tannins that give a fine-velvet texture. It’s extremely long, polished and sophisticated. Needs time to come together, but expressive and glorious. Fantastic relative value. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink after 2025.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019William Kelley im April 2022:
From clay-rich soils opposite Troplong Mondot in the commune Saint Christophe des Bardes, the 2019 Tour Saint Christophe offers up demonstrative aromas of cherries, wild berries, sweet loamy soil, licorice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it's a strong effort in a crowd-pleasing style.

94 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019 Saint EmilionJeb Dunnuck im April 2022:
TThis estate has been delivering the goods for numerous vintages now, and the 2019 Château Tour Saint Christophe is another terrific wine. Ripe black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, new leather, and chalky minerality all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a tight, straight, focused texture, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. It doesn't have the mid-palate density or opulence of the 2018, but it’s more pretty, focused, and straight on the palate. Give bottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe is a fabulous wine that marries fruit intensity and structure. Black cherry, graphite, dried herbs, menthol, licorice and spice give this driving, potent Saint-Émilion tons of character. Tour Saint-Christophe remains one of the greatest values in Bordeaux. Tasted two times.

95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019 Saint EmilionUnd Neal Martin (vinous) zum Chateau Tour Saint Christophe 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe builds on the promise it showed from barrel. This sample was actually tasted at my home, where I afforded it a two-hour decant. It revealed precocious yet controlled blackberry and blueberry fruit scents, with that violet component still intact. The tannins have not lost any of their grippiness or assertiveness. This is a Saint-Émilion that is in for the long haul. Great potential.

The 2019 Fombrauge is one of the best wines I have tasted from this property in some time. It shows all the richness that is typical of Bernard Magrez's style but with less heaviness and a good deal of aromatic presence that helps balance things out. Sweet dark cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice and mocha build into the resonant, super-expressive finish. The 2019 is a classy Fombrauge.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Fombrauge, which was bottled in spring 2021, retains the opulence that I found from barrel, still showing that heady mixture of blackberry, blueberry and a touch of cooked meat, if perhaps just requiring a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and generous, with succulent ripe tannins, a satiny texture and a gossamer finish that slips down the throat. Afford it 5–6 years and this should evolve into a lovely Saint-Émilion.

 BIO
93+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Grand Corbin Despagne 2019 Saint Emilion Grand CruWilliam Kelley im April 2022:
From holdings just across the border from Pomerol characterized by predominantly sandy-clay soils, the 2019 Grand Corbin-Despagne offers up aromas of plums, sweet berries and cherries mingled with raw cocoa, cigar wrapper, licorice, violets and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with fine concentration, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it's a beautifully balanced classic that will age with grace. François Despagne is the seventh generation of his family to steward this 28-hectare Saint-Émilion estate, located just across the border from Pomerol, and he is intent on bringing it back to the heights of which anyone who has tasted vintages such as 1929 or 1961 know it is capable.

Returning to the estate after some years researching wine microbiology, he dug 150 soil pits—discovering that the historic delimitation of parcels on the estate corresponded precisely to the underlying geology. Soils are thin sand over blue clay, and replanting favors Cabernet Franc (with an in-house massale selection)—which represented about 60% of the surface area before the 1956 frosts and subsequent replanting. Despagne has converted to organic and biodynamic farming, reducing yields, and that is translating to new levels of depth and concentration. In the winery and cellar, however, the approach is rather classical, with a tendency to work more reductively and preserve better purity of fruit (Thomas Duclos consults), emphasizing seamlessness and depth over extraction and impact. This is an estate to watch.

Medium to full-bodied, seamless and elegant, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it concludes with a long, mineral finish. It's produced from a 9.5-hectare vineyard that encompasses three soil types: Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau (like its sibling, Château Canon); the slope, characterized by deep clay; and then sandy, colluvial soils at the foot of the slope. Right now it's planted with 70% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc, but the percentage of the latter is increasing as replanting progresses.

Another beautiful wine from the Lefévère family that does everything right, the 2019 Château Sansonnet has a textbook Saint-Emilion bouquet of chalky minerality, ripe red and black fruits, notes of truffle and flowers, medium to full body, and beautiful overall balance. In the past, this wine has had a glossy, slightly modern style (in a good sense), but the 2019 has an incredibly classic feel with its oak nicely integrated and just a liquid rock-like minerality on the finish. It's a gorgeous wine that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades.

Blackberry jam, spice, leather, tobacco, menthol, cedar and chocolate build as the 2019 shows off its alluring personality. Tasted two times.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Sansonnet seems to revel in the vintage. The aromatics explode from the glass with precocious black cherry, raspberry and blueberry scents, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and manages to counterbalance its power with tension, retaining crucial sapidity on the prolonged finish. Excellent.

Ripe black fruit (there's some red fruit as well), tobacco leaf, damp earth, exotic flowers, and some chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2019 Clos De L'Oratoire, another beautiful wine from the Neipperg family and team. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and seamless on the palate, I love its mid-palate, it has gorgeous tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. This is clearly a great vintage for this cuvée. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, and it's going to have 2-3 decades of longevity, and probably a gradual decline after that as well. It's beautiful.

Powerful and explosive in the glass, the 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire possesses tremendous depth and density from start to finish. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice, menthol and lavender are all amplified in this potent, structured Saint-Émilion. Give it a few years to soften.

Stephan von Neipperg's 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire has turned out very nicely in bottle, opening in the glass to reveal aromas of sweet wild berries, cherries, loamy soil and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's broad and succulent, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a nicely defined finish. It's produced from holdings on sandy-clay soils in the northeast of Saint-Émilion.

The 2019 Clos de l’Oratoire is an absolute gem from Stéphan von Neipperg. The beautifully defined nose unfurls with each swirl of the glass, revealing blackberry, briar and touches of wild mint and heather, all precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied, quite sapid and classic in style, offering fine structure, gentle grip on the finish, and touches of black pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This is excellent and well worth seeking out.

Villa Rosa Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2016

Villa Rosa is a beautiful manor house that sits among the softly rolling hills, all planted in vines, in the lower and most luminous part of Castellina in Chianti. The Famiglia Cecchi 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Villa Rosa is a delicate and silky expression that is driven forward with rose, tobacco and dusty earth or crushed limestone. Those floral elements distinguish the wine, showing rose hip, dried lavender or violets. Enjoy this with Tuscan chicken-liver pâté crostini.

Der JG 2019 ist noch nicht bewertet

The Rioja red 2018 Lanzaga comes from a very wet year with more than 600 liters of rain, but it had a dry October, which helped to fight mildew. They harvested between the 8th of October and 1st of November. It's a blend from their 15 to 20 hectares of organically farmed vines, all head-pruned on slopes rich in clay and limestone, mixing red and white soils, some places with more sandstone, others with more marl, looking for complexity. It fermented in 6,000-liter concrete vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in 1,500- and 2,500-liter oak foudres and 225-liter barrels for 14 months. It's floral and expressive, subtle and cold. This could very well be the best value in the portfolio. The wine has gobsmacking subtleness and elegance combined with power, definition and precision. Superb! 24,568 bottles produced. 90 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2019 Saint EstepheDie Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2019 Saint Estephe:
Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cherries, licorice and spices, the 2019 Lilian Ladouys is medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, with a giving, easygoing profile and a clean, precise finish. It's a competent effort that shows none of the appellation's stereotypically hard edges.

92 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2019 Saint EstepheJames Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2020 Saint Estephe Folgendes:
Sweet currant and berry aromas with some very flowers follow through to a medium body, with firm and creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. I like the walnut and chocolate undertones. 59% merlot, 37% cabernet sauvignon, 3% petit verdot and 1% cabernet franc. Better after 2023.

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2019 Saint EstepheDas meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Lilian Ladouys:
The 2019 Lilian Ladouys is absolutely beautiful, just as it was from barrel. The interplay of rich, radiant fruit and the savory, earthy notes that are typical of Saint-Estèphe make for a compelling, delicious and highly affordable wine to drink now and over the next handful of years.

91 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2019 Saint EstepheJeb Dunnuck im April 2022:
This château continues to bring the goods, and their 2019 Château Lilian Ladouys offers a medium-bodied, supple, elegant, and certainly delicious style as well as complex notes of redcurrants, darker mulberries, cedary spice, and dried herbs. It shows the elegant, more mid-weight side to the vintage, yet the balance is spot on, it has ripe tannins, and it’s going to keep for 15+ years.
