Ripe black fruit (there's some red fruit as well), tobacco leaf, damp earth, exotic flowers, and some chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2019 Clos De L'Oratoire, another beautiful wine from the Neipperg family and team. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and seamless on the palate, I love its mid-palate, it has gorgeous tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. This is clearly a great vintage for this cuvée. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, and it's going to have 2-3 decades of longevity, and probably a gradual decline after that as well. It's beautiful.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Clos de L Oratoire 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni im Februar 2022:
Powerful and explosive in the glass, the 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire possesses tremendous depth and density from start to finish. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice, menthol and lavender are all amplified in this potent, structured Saint-Émilion. Give it a few years to soften.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denWilliam kelley im April 2022:
Stephan von Neipperg's 2019 Clos de l'Oratoire has turned out very nicely in bottle, opening in the glass to reveal aromas of sweet wild berries, cherries, loamy soil and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's broad and succulent, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a nicely defined finish. It's produced from holdings on sandy-clay soils in the northeast of Saint-Émilion.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Clos de L Oratoire 2019 Saint EmilionNeal Martin im Februar 2022:
The 2019 Clos de l’Oratoire is an absolute gem from Stéphan von Neipperg. The beautifully defined nose unfurls with each swirl of the glass, revealing blackberry, briar and touches of wild mint and heather, all precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied, quite sapid and classic in style, offering fine structure, gentle grip on the finish, and touches of black pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This is excellent and well worth seeking out.

Aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, plum leaves, violets and bitter chocolate. Medium-to full-bodied with firm, compact tannins. Very solid with a dense core of dark fruit. Chewy finish. Try in 2026.

Shows steeped red and black currant fruit that mingles with tobacco, worn cedar and savory notes, with a streak of warm cast iron through the finish. Slightly rustic in feel but has character and range, with good energy throughout. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2035. 4,600 cases made, 400 cases imported.

96 Punkte bei Jeb DunnuckJeb Dunnuck über den Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
Another beautiful wine from the Lefévère family that does everything right, the 2019 Château Sansonnet has a textbook Saint-Emilion bouquet of chalky minerality, ripe red and black fruits, notes of truffle and flowers, medium to full body, and beautiful overall balance. In the past, this wine has had a glossy, slightly modern style (in a good sense), but the 2019 has an incredibly classic feel with its oak nicely integrated and just a liquid rock-like minerality on the finish. It's a gorgeous wine that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades.

94 Suckling Punkte für den Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint EmilionJames Suckling über den Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
Ripe blackberries, cherries, praline, walnuts and lavender on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine, plush tannins. Creamy and polished. Drink after 2024.

95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Sansonnet offers a striking combination of fruit intensity and structure. There is plenty of the intense, inky fruit that readers have come to expect in recent years, but that opulence is beautifully balanced by the wine's energy and overall drive. Blackberry jam, spice, leather, tobacco, menthol, cedar and chocolate build as the 2019 shows off its alluring personality. Tasted two times.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Sansonnet seems to revel in the vintage. The aromatics explode from the glass with precocious black cherry, raspberry and blueberry scents, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and manages to counterbalance its power with tension, retaining crucial sapidity on the prolonged finish. Excellent.

93 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Für den Wine Spectator verköstigte James Molesworth denChateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
This is both lush and structured, with a gush of dark, steeped cassis, blackberry and fig notes leading the way and quickly followed by singed alder and juniper, warm humus and cast iron notes, which really linger. This won't ever be a charmer, but it will develop nicely over time. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2023 through 2038. 2,100 cases made, 300 cases imported.

Chateau Peymouton 2019 Saint Emilion

91 Suckling Punkte für den Chateau Peymouton 2019 Saint EmilionJames Suckling über den Chateau Peymouton 2019 Saint Emilion:
A firm, savory young Bordeaux with tobacco, redcurrant and crushed-stone character, as well as some bark. It’s medium-bodied with solid tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs time to soften. Better in 2024.

22 Jan, 2022 – Dried flowers, mimosa, blackcurrants, peppercorns and burnt orange on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with firm, tightly wound tannins and crisp acidity. Zesty, mineral character on the tight finish. Lightly smoky at the end. Try in 2026.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Poesia 2019 Saint Emilion Grand CruAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Poesia 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:
The 2019 Poesia is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Hélène and Patrice Lévêque. Rich and sumptuous, Poesia marries intensity with vibrancy in grand style. Poesia is a big, explosive Saint-Émilion, but it also possesses tremendous energy. Dark fruit, gravel, incense, spice and saddle leather open with a bit of coaxing. There is an exotic quality to Poesia in 2019 that is especially alluring. Brilliant.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denUnd Neal Martin (vinous) zum Chateau Poesia 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:
The 2019 Poesia has an expressive bouquet featuring a mélange of red and black fruit and black pepper, the limestone terroir lending tension. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, perhaps a little more powerful than the Barde-Haut, and displays very fine precision on the finish. A touch of white pepper furnishes the aftertaste. Probably the best Poesia ever.

The Mangot 2019 Todeschini Distique 12 is a special cuvée that celebrates the 12 years (and counting) that the Todeschini brothers have been working together at this estate and which blends 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon to deliver a more structured, concentrated wine than the regular Mangot blend. Exhibiting aromas of dark berries, baking chocolate, violets and plums, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with a deep core of fruit that's framed by fine, powdery tannins. Chateau Petit Grave Aine 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru mit 95+ Punkten von Jeb Dunnuck bewertet Jeb Dunnuck im März 2021 über den Chateau Petit Grave Aine 2018 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:

The Cabernet Franc-dominated 2018 Château Petit Gravet Aîné (there's 20% Merlot) comes from the upper plateau in Saint-Emilion and was raised in new French oak. It's handled its élevage nicely and has just subtle vanilla and spicy oak notes as well as impressive red, black, and blue fruits intermixed with notes of acacia flowers, spice box, forest floor, and tobacco. Tighter and more backward from bottle than barrel, it's medium to full-bodied and has a balanced, elegant texture, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It needs 3-5 years of bottle age and should have two decades of overall longevity.

The 2018 Petit Gravet Aîné is a blend of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, weighing in with 14% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts from the glass with vibrant notes of kirsch, black raspberries and stewed plum, plus hints of lavender, tobacco leaf and pencil shavings. The medium to full-bodied palate is juicy and plush, featuring loads of fragrant earth nuances to back up the ripe red and black berry layers and bags of freshness, finishing long and perfumed. This is an effortlessly beautiful Saint-Émilion! This is a tiny 2.5-hectare vineyard in the Saint-Émilion foothills, situated west of Château Canon-La-Gaffelière in deep, sandy-clay soils.
