Blackcurrant and graphite with hints of stones. Medium body. Firm tannins and a juicy finish. Rather tight and lean at this stage.

I loved the 2022 Château Olivier. It's a full-bodied, rich, powerful Graves offering ample red and black fruits, some chocolate and spicy nuances, plenty of mid-palate depth, and nicely integrated tannins. It shows the riper, textured style of the vintage without going over the top.
Den Chateau Olivier 2022 Pessac Leognan beschreibt Fallstaff wie folgt:
Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Reife Pflaumen, Lakritze, schokoladiger Touch, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, dunkle Beeren, mittlere Komplexität, frisch und strukturiert, etwas Nugat, bleibt haften, vielversprechender Speisenbegleiter.

Smoke, black plums, black cherries, flowers, and licorice permeate the nose. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is fresh, supple, creamy, and silky, with ample layers of sweet, ripe, dark fruits, cocoa, and a touch salt that comes in on the back end. The wine blends 49% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot, 14.55% ABV. Drink from 2026-2040

Chewy and ripe, tannins are excellently presented, mouth coating and filling, chewy also, but they have a gorgeous cool blue fruit and stony element that is so moreish. Not so overly juicy and vibrant but really well controlled. Feels purposeful and excellently presented with bounce, flesh, texture, fruit and life. Super charming in a really quiet way. Tannins just linger on the finish giving some dryness but this should resolve. A yield of 34hl/ha.
