Chateau Malartic Lagraviere

Die Domaine de Lagraviere war schon immer für die Qualität ihres Terroirs und ihre berühmten Kieselkuppen bekannt. Zu Ehren des Grafen Hippolyte de Malartic, Admiral im Dienste der Könige Frankreichs und Eigentümer des Weinguts im 18.JAhrhundert, wurde das Chateau auf Malartic-Lagraviere umbenannt. Ende 1996 kauften Michele und Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie das Gut und renovierten es vollständig. Damit waren alle Vorrausstzungen erfüllt, um Weine auf Augenhöhe mit demn besten Grands Crus von Bordeaux zu erzeugen. EIn Terroir und Weinberge von hoher Qualität, innovative und leistungsstarke Anlagen für traditionelle Vinifizierungsmethoden sowie ein engagiertes und passioniertes Team. Das in der ganzen Welt für seine kräftigen und zugleich feinen und eleganten Weine geschätze Chateau Malartic Lagraviere ist eines von nur sechs Weingütern im Bordelais, das sowohl für sien Rot- als auch für seine Weissweine klassifieziert ist.

A blend of 89% Sauvignon Blanc and 11% Sémillon, the 2021 Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc plays in the vibrant, racy style of the vintage, yet I love its overall purity, preciseness, and vibrancy. Ripe lemon and lime fruits, mint, and sappy herbs all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, and has a crisp, clean finish that will allow it to be incredibly versatile on the dinner table.

I love the deep and complex nose. in which the cassis and mint of cabernet sauvignon are beautifully married to the more generous blackberry of ripe merlot and the vanilla and toasty notes from the oak are marvelously integrated. On the palate it creeps up on you slowly; the first impression is ripe yet delicate. then the fine-grained tannins charge through and light up the sky. Very long finish. Drink or hold.

Really feels very precise and delineated, polished and structured, still with some spice giving some tension but this is really lovely. Complete and characterful. A yield of 18hl/ha.

It’s concentrated, has a great texture, nicely integrated acidity, and a brilliant finish. Yields here were a miniscule 18 hectoliters per hectare, and the Grand Vin is a selection of only 44% of the total production.

Straight-up classic notes of honeyed pineapple, chalky minerality, minty herbs, and spicy nuances emerge from the 2020 Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc, a deep, richly textured, medium to full-bodied white with nicely integrated acidity, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. It's one of the finest whites I've tasted from this château and is well worth seeking out. I like it today, yet it should have 10-12 years or more of prime drinking as well.

Der 2023 Malartic Lagravière Blanc, eine Mischung aus 80% Sauvignon Blanc und 20% Sémillon, gereift zu 50% in neuen Eichenfässern, zeigt ein Zitrusbouquet mit Aromen von Limettenbaumblättern, Birne und Kräutern. Ein wunderschön strukturierter und komplexer Weißwein mit makellosen, lebendigen Zitrusfrüchten und einem exotischen Touch. Am Gaumen präsentiert er sich sehr gut ausbalanciert mit einem erfrischenden Auftakt von Zitronensorbet, Orangenschale und Zitronengras. Der Wein hat eine sehr ansprechende Struktur und beeindruckendes Gewicht im Abgang.

A lovely wine with intensity and detail, not the most demonstrative or juicy and appealing right now, but really well made and delivered. Supple, bright, chalky, chewy, this wine has intensity and precision. Hervorragender Jahrgang bei Malartic, reiche Pflaumenfarbe, Kakaobohne, schwarze Schokolade, Anis und Fenchel, meisterhaft konstruiert. Päonie- und Irisnoten kommen durch den Mittelgaumen, mit Fokus auf herzhaften Cabernet, Cassis-Knospen, Minzblatt, elegant und gut abgemessen. Man kann die Bausteine erkennen und sich absolut sicher sein, wie gut er sich in den nächsten Jahrzehnten entwickeln wird - empfohlen wird, mindestens sechs bis acht Jahre zu warten, bevor man ihn öffnet. Großartige Leistung von der Familie Bonnie, die diesen Wein zu einem unverzichtbaren Pessac macht. 38,95 hl/ha Ertrag.

Antonio Galloni beschreibt den Wein als wunderschön ausgewogen und elegant. Obwohl er vielleicht nicht so überschwänglich ist sind alle Elemente sehr harmonisch ausbalanciert. Er hebt die reichen Aromen, die klassische Eleganz und die interessante Entwicklung des Weins hervor. Besonders die blumigen Noten verleihen ihm eine subtile Finesse. Neal Martin von Vinous bewertet den Wein mit 90-92 / 100 und beschreibt den straff strukturierten Malartic Lagravière mit Aromen von blauen und schwarzen Beeren, sowie Anklängen von Irisblüten und Pfingstrosen. Der gut integrierte 10%eicheinsatz könnte laut Martin jedoch etwas mehr Kraft und Terroir-Charakter vertragen. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich dieser Wein mittelkräftig mit knackigen schwarzen Früchten und einer feinen Säurestruktur, obwohl ein wenig mehr Details im Abgang wünschenswert wären. Insgesamt zeigt der Malartic Lagravière rouge 2023 dass er noch Potential für weitere Reifung hat

The 2015 Malartic Lagraviere has enjoyed a fine run of form in recent vintages. This is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot with smaller portions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It has a comparatively flamboyant bouquet for the appellation with scents of raspberry, crushed strawberry, cedar and a touch of graphite that lends it a Pauillac-like veneer. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, more black than red fruit infused with pencil lead and smoke. It fans out wonderfully toward the finish, completing a wonderful Malartic Lagravière that will age with panache.
