Chateau Labegorce Margaux

Dieses elegante neoklassizistische Chateau an der berühmten „Route des Chateaux“ besitzt 250 Hektar Land, von denen 70 mit Weinreben bestockt sind. Das Anwesen, das an die Chateaus Margaux und Lascombes angrenzt, wurde im Feret, der Bibel der Bordeaux Weine, von 1868 erwähnt, in dem es hieß, dass die „Ländereinen des Adelshauses von Labegorce“ bereits seit 1332 existierten. Das Chateau wurde als eines der schönsten und bestgelegenen
der Gemeinde Margaux präsentierte. Im Jahre 1989 wurde es von der Familie Perrodo gekauft, die dem Weingut seinen architektonischen Glanz und seine
Dynamit wiedergegeben hat und auf Labegorce eine verführerischen Wein mit schöner Struktur, herrlicher Frucht und großer Finesse entstehen lässt. 2006 kaufte sie ebenfalls das Chateau Marquis d´Alesme, einen Dritten Grand Cru Classe von Margaux, mit dem Ziel, auch dieses Weingut zu einem Schmuckstück der Appellation zu machen.

The 2019 Labégorce was the first vintage vinified in the new cellar and also the first to use Cabernet Franc from the north part of the appellation, on more limestone soils, a massal selection from an organic producer in the south of France. Matured in 40% new oak, this has a voluminous, multifaceted bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, cedar and perhaps more rose petal than violet at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, very well balanced, and a little spicier than I found from barrel, leading to a detailed, tensile finish.

Dunkle reife Frucht im Duft, mit feiner süsslicher Kirsche. Am Gaumen zwar fleischig zu beginn, wird er weich und hellbeeriger im Geschmack. Feines zartes Tannin, gute stützende Säure. Mittelkräftiger Ausklang. 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc

Noten von reifen und milden dunklen Beeren mit einem Hauch von Orangenschale. Mittelkrörperig, geschmeidig und poliert.

Kräftige rubinrote Farbe mit violetten Reflexen. Feine Kirschfrucht, Renekloden, Anklänge von Mandarinenzesten, noch etwas zurückhaltend. Schlank, rote Kirschen, subtile Frucht, reife Tannine, bleibt anhaltend, ein lebhafter Speisenwein mit guter Herkunft, besitzt bestimmtes Alterungspotenzial.

Basierend auf fast einem gleichmäßigen Anteil von Cabernet Sauvignon und Merlot, hat der 2023 Château Labégorce ein würziges, mittelkräftiges, geschmeidiges, komplexes Profil, das fast schon schwer zu widerstehen ist. Reife rote und schwarze Früchte, erdiger Lehm und würzige Kräuternoten prägen die Aromatik, und er hat schön integrierte Hintergrund-Eiche, gute Dichte am Gaumen und herausragende Länge. Anfänglich zurückhaltend in der Nase, zeigt er erneut, dass Teile von Margaux in diesem Jahrgang ein wenig Überredung brauchen, um in diesem frühen Stadium aufzugehen. Wenn er es tut, findet man skulptiertes und köstlich würziges Obst, Rosenblüten, Kakaobohne und Cassis, mit langsam aufbauendem Tannengriff durch den Gaumen. 32 hl/ha Ertrag, 62,5 ha in Produktion, 25% neue Eichenfässer zur Reifung, der Rest einjährig.
