This needs time to soften but I like the character and intensity. 68% cabernet, 27% merlot, 3% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. A serious, structured vintage, the 2020 Ferrière unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet cherries, berries and plums mingled with raw cocoa and violets. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with excellent concentration and plenty of powdery tannin that asserts itself on the youthfully firm finish. This blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot, derived from a very high proportion of old vines, is a real success, but it will require patience.

Da reiht sich eine dunkle Beere neben der anderen ganz klar auf, dann kommt etwas Mokka, auch hier dünn aufgeschnittenes rohes Fleisch, dann kommt wieder eine Ladung Cassis, gepaart mit Edelbitterschoki und das war nur die Nase! Im Mund setzt sich das Spektakel fort, das ist genau so komplex im Mund wie es die Nase versprochen hat. Das schmeckt und riecht schon so erwachsen. Balance und Frische werden hier nur der Vollständigkeit halber genannt. Das könnte der beste Phelan Segur ever werden.
