92 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Labegorce 2019 MargauxJames Suckling verköstigt den Chateau Labegorce 2019 Margaux:
Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, espresso, orange chocolate and wet earth. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Rich and creamy with generous ripe-berry and chocolate notes. Walnut and earth notes on the finish. Drink from 2024.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Labegorce 2019 MargauxAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Labegorce 2019 Margaux:
The 2019 Labégorce is a rich, heady wine. Succulent black cherry, plum, espresso, licorice, menthol and chocolate are all dialed up. Readers will find an extroverted, lush Margaux. Soft curves and layers of plush fruit add to its considerable immediacy.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Labegorce 2019 MargauxUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Labegorce 2019 Margaux:
The 2019 Labégorce was the first vintage vinified in the new cellar and also the first to use Cabernet Franc from the north part of the appellation, on more limestone soils, a massal selection from an organic producer in the south of France. Matured in 40% new oak, this has a voluminous, multifaceted bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, cedar and perhaps more rose petal than violet at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, very well balanced, and a little spicier than I found from barrel, leading to a detailed, tensile finish.

94 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Chateau Labegorce 2019 MargauxDer Chateau Labegorce 2019 Margaux am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:
Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feiner Schokotouch, dunkle Beerenfrucht, feines Cassis, ein Hauch von Edelholz, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, elegant, feine Fruchtsüße, reife, tragende Tannine, bleibt sehr gut haften, mineralisch und mit sicherem Reifepotenzial ausgestattet.

16 Jan, 2022 – Sweet currant and berry aromas with hints of blackcurrants, black cherries and flowers. It’s full-bodied and layered with beautifully polished tannins that last for minutes. Tight and very focused. This needs at least six or seven years to open. Try after 2027.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 MargauxAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 Margaux:
The 2019 Malescot St. Exupéry is quite possibly the most elegant wine I have tasted here. Plush and radiant, the 2019 possesses notable depth with plenty of supporting structure beneath surprisingly tamed tannins. Gravel, dark red cherry/plum, spice, leather and dried flowers build over time. The 2019 is a magical wine endowed with tremendous character. Don't miss it.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 MargauxUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 Margaux:
The 2019 Malescot Saint Exupéry has a well-defined bouquet, although it does not quite possess the intensity that it showed from barrel. Touches of licorice and allspice gently unfold with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, and lightly spiced with white pepper and clove toward the detailed, persistent finish. This is a serious Margaux that deserves time in bottle.

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart blättrig unterlegte schwarze Waldbeeren, Lakritze, Orangenzesten, kandierte Mandarinenschalen. Komplex, saftig und frisch, feiner Nougat, kraftvolle, reife Tannine, straff, gut anhaftend, verfügt über Länge und Entwicklungspotenzial.

Cuvee: 45 Cabernet Sauvignon / 50 Merlot / 5 Petit Verdot Erntezeitpunkt: Zwischen 18. September und 16. October Dunkle reife Frucht, nicht ganz so overdone wie in vielen Jahrgängen. Es kommen florale frische Nuancen hinzu. Dennoch kraftvoll und straff am Gaumen, frische Säure. 92-94+ Punkte

94-95 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Lascombes 2018 MargauxJames Suckling bewertet den Chateau Lascombes 2018 Margaux wie folgt:

This is a dense and very structured young red with currant and citrus character, such as burnt orange. Full-bodied with chewy yet polished tannins and a long and flavorful finish.

93-96 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Lascombes 2018 MargauxJames Mothels bewertet den Chateau Lascombes 2018 Margaux wie folgt:

Dark and winey. with steeped currant and plum fruit forming the core, inlaid with a licorice root note and backed by a suave mesquite hint on the finish. Fine-grained. A serious wine.

92-94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Lascombes 2018 MargauxLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Lascombes 2018 Margaux wie folgt:

The 2018 Lascombes is deep garnet-purple in color and a little reduced to begin, offering tar and scorched earth notions over an emerging core of baked blackcurrants, plum preserves and charcuterie plus hints of bay leaves and underbrush. Full, richly fruited and laden with ripe black fruits and earthy suggestions, it has a solid foundation of firm, grainy tannins and finishes long and savory.

90-93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Lascombes 2018 MargauxAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Lascombes 2018 Margaux wie folgt:

The 2018 Lascombes is quite attractive in this vintage. Black cherry, plum, cloves, leather, tobacco and licorice all run through a succulent, supple Margaux that will drink well with minimal cellaring. This is an especially modern, fruit-forward style.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Kirwan comes barreling out of the glass with notes of cedar chest, cloves and stewed plums, followed by notions of cassis, dried Provence herbs and tobacco leaf with a waft of dusty soil. One of the few wines I wasn't able to taste from barrel, the 2018 Château Kirwan is certainly an outstanding wine now from bottle. Revealing a deep purple hue as well as beautiful notes of crème de cassis and earthy currant fruits, it's medium to full-bodied and has a kiss of background oak, plenty of spicy, floral nuances, and a great finish. It's another terrific 2018 with solid up-front appeal yet the balance, structure, and class to evolve for 20-25 years.

Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries and cassis mingled with hints of dark chocolate, pencil shavings and violets, the 2019 La Lagune is medium to full-bodied, broad and sensual, its ample core of fruit framed by polished tannins and succulent acids. In its elegant, generous style, it's reminiscent of a modern-day version of the brilliant 1990.

6 Dec, 2021 – Plenty of chocolate, tobacco and blackcurrant character on the nose. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins that are polished and present. Long and intense. The 2017 Troplong Mondot is stunning. just as it was en primeur. Rich and ample. yet endowed with striking energy as well. the 2017 is the first vintage made by new CEO Aymeric de Gironde and consulting winemaker Thomas Duclos. The 2017 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. All of the power that is typical of this site is evident. it seems to come so naturally. and yet picking earlier and then using a lighter hand in the cellar yielded a Troplong of uncommon energy and vibrancy. The 2017 has been nothing short of thrilling on the four occasions I have tasted it from bottle so far. What a wine!

The 2017 Chateau Troplong Mondot continues in the new style of this estate and is based on 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc from healthy yields of 48 hectoliters per hectare. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by a stunning perfume of creme de cassis, black raspberries, white chocolate, crushed flowers, and a terrific sense of minerality. Flawlessly balanced, medium to full-bodied, and nicely concentrated, it shows the more elegant, classical style of the vintage beautifully. It has the texture and balance to drink brilliantly today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for two decades or more.

The 2016 Malescot Saint Exupéry is fabulous. Powerful and explosive on the palate. the 2016 offers serious intensity. but it also appears to be holding back quite a bit of its potential. Deep and resonant. but also remarkably polished. the 2016 Malescot is a winner.
