Dunkle reife Frucht, etwas sogar ins schwarzbeerige gehende. Ein paar vegetabile Noten zeigen sich, an rote Beete erinnernd, aber auch weisser Pfeffer, Cassis und ein touch Kaffee. Im Mund saftig und fleischig, gute Struktur, die Säure trägt ihn und verleiht aromatischen Lift. Gut gelungen und eine neue Facette, sehr spannendes Ergebnis. 92-94 Punkte

The 2021 Laroque opens in the glass with aromas of dark, minty berries, orange zest and toasty oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered palate with a sweet core of fruit, supple tannins and a long, mineral finish. This has turned out very nicely in bottle, and given its low-pH profile, it's likely to reward some bottle age. 92+

From an estate that has been on an incredible run of late, largely due to the talents of director David Suire, the 2020 Château Laroque shows the cooler, limestone-driven style of the terroir beautifully and has a clean, focused style in its darker (almost blue) berry fruits as well as chalky minerality, violets, spice, and floral nuances. Medium-bodied on the palate, this focused, straight, remarkably pure Saint-Emilion has terrific mid-palate depth and a great finish. It needs to be hidden in the cellar for a solid 4-5 years if possible and is going to have 30 years of longevity. If drinking any time soon, give it an hour in a decanter.

The 2020 Laroque has turned out nicely, bursting with aromas of cherries, minty blackberries, licorice and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with good depth at the core, chalky but refined tannins and a saline finish, it's another strong performance for this rising star of Saint-Émilion.

Ziereisen S 21 Blauer Spätburgunder 2021 bisher Schulen

Info: Seitens des Weinguts ändert sich die Bezeichnung, auf dem Etikett lesen Sie nun nicht mehr "Schulen", sondern " S 21" hier steht 21 für die Trauben welche aus dem Jahrgang 2021 stammen.

"Dies ist der beeindruckendste Schulen, den ich von diesem Weingut kenne,..."
sagt Stephan Reinhardt zum Ziereisen Schulen Blauer Spätburgunder 2020, "... und ich habe seit den Anfängen in den 1990er Jahren nur sehr wenige Jahrgänge verpasst."

Die gesunden handgelesene Trauben der Rebsorte Bauer Spätburgunder ( Pinot Noir ). welche auf Jurakalk gewachsen sind. werden nach der Lese teilweise abgebeert. sortiert und während 6 Wochen auf der Maische vergoren. Danach wurde die Maische abgepresst. Der Ziereisen Schulen Spätburgunder reifte anschliessend für 20 Monate in 10% neuen Barrique sowie zu 90% in gebrauchten 225L Aßmann Barrique. Seidiges Temperament. Gewürze verbinden sich mit vollreifen Kirschen und Waldhimbeeren. Im Mund stoffige Seide, dennoch temperamentvoll. Der Schulen Spärburgunder wird unfiltriert auf die Flasche gefüllt. Depot oder Trübung sind somit möglich.

Ziereisen's 2020 (Pinot Noir) Schulen exhibits an intense but lively dark ruby color that speaks to the unfiltered bottling of the wine that was aged in small oak barrels for a bit more than 1.5 years. The wine shows a noble, deep, pure and refreshing bouquet of dark, ripe and intensely flavored fruit (dark cherries, Schwarzwälder Kirsch) intermingled with spicy-peppery as well as chalky notes (Jurassic limestone). On the palate, this is a silky, intense and balanced, full-bodied and juicy red with remarkably fine tannins, stunning mineral and energetic vibrancy and fine salinity on the long and intense finish that represents the warmth and generosity of the vintage. This is the most impressive Schulen I have had from this domaine, and I have missed only a very few vintages since the start in the 1990s. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper (Amorim). Tasted in November 2022.
