Die Tannine sind sehr geschliffen und feingliedrig. Tolle Balance im Langen Finale.

Ein Eye-Opener. Dieser Wein startet wirklich durch am Ende, mit Brombeere, Tapenade, Schokopulver und Zedernholz. Er ist vollmundig und straff mit festen Tanninen, die fein sind und weniger samtig als in früheren Jahrgängen. Weniger neues Holz als in der Vergangenheit. Knackig. 100% Merlot.

Ein hübscher Kern aus Brombeeren, Blaubeeren, Walnüssen und Haselnüssen. Mittlerer bis voller Körper und samtige Tannine. Eine Mischung aus 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc und 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tief dunkles Rubin, undurchsichtiges Kern, violette Reflexe, Aufhellung am Rand. Brombeeren, Kirschen, ein Hauch von feiner Eiche, einladendes Bouquet. Saftig, elegant, frisch, reife Kirschen, runde Tannine, feine Säure, elegant und gute Persistenz, mit gewissem Alterungspotenzial.

Der 2023 Faugères ist ein dichter, üppiger Saint-Émilion. Weiche Konturen umhüllen einen Kern aus Brombeermarmelade, Nelken, Lavendel, Lakritz und Schokolade. Dieser opulente, kraftvolle Saint-Émilion ist überhaupt nicht subtil, hat jedoch auf seine Weise eine gewisse Balance. Zwei Mal verkostet.

Wie immer auch ein Spiegelbild eines kraftvollen Terroirs, das intensive, konzentrierte Weine hervorbringt, mit Kakaobohnen- und schwarzem Pfeffergewürz, einem guten Hauch von Bimsstein und gut eingebundenem, wenn auch deutlich erkennbaren, gerösteten Eichenholz.

Aus dem kühleren östlichen Teil der Appellation stammend, zeigt der 2023 Château Faugères eine tief rubin-/purpurrote Farbe und hat ein lebhaftes Bouquet von dunkleren roten und blauen Früchten sowie Veilchen, Frühlingsblumen und Holzkohle. Er ist mittelkräftig und geschmeidig, mit dem fruchtbetonteren Stil des Jahrgangs und herausragender Länge. Mehrfach verkostet mit konsistenten Ergebnissen.

91-93 Punkte Ziemlich blumig in der Natur, ist der Wein auch voller reifer, süßer, dunkler roter Steinfrüchte, Espresso, Schokoladenminze, Lakritz und schwarzer Himbeeren. Yield of 37hl/ha. Ageing for 12 months in stainless steel.

Dark red fruit. espresso. cedar and dried flowers add lovely shades of aromatic nuance as well as energy. The 2018 is beautifully rendered. The blend is 85% Merlot. 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Proprietor Silvio Denz and consulting winemake Michel Rolland turned out a gorgeous Faugeres in 2018. My only real critique is that Faugeres and the pure Peby Faugeres are more closer in style than they usually are. which is remarkable as the blends are totally different! Tasted three times.
