Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Clos du Roy 2015 April 2016:

The 2015 Clos du Roy has an earthy, briary-scented bouquet with great definition and personality. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, good body and is very well balanced, the finish offering blackberry and bilberry notes with a touch of sea salt. This is a great Fronsac wine in the making - one I look forward to tasting in bottle.

Neal Martin bewertet den Clos du Roy 2016 im April 2017:
The 2016 Clos du Roy has a tightly wound bouquet with abundant black fruit waiting to unfold once in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded but firm tannin, engaging blackberry and bilberry fruit mixed with mineral and a very refined and persistent finish that is the best I have encountered from this Fronsac estate. Bon vin! Très bon vin!

Layered and rich for the vintage with berries, chocolate and meat. Medium to full body and a chewy finish.

5 Jan, 2022 – Black and blue fruit, dried herbs, bark, hazelnuts and vanilla on the nose. Olives and oyster shells, too. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins. Rich and fruity with a chewy finish. Merlot and cabernet franc. Drink after 2023.

I loved the 2019 Clos Du Roy from barrel, and it doesn’t disappoint from bottle. Ripe black cherries, chocolaty herbs, licorice, and graphite are just some of its nuances, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a round, layered texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming decade.

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Clos du Roy 2019 FronsacNeal Martin zum Chateau Clos du Roy 2019 Fronsac:
The 2019 Clos du Roy has an intense bouquet of marine-tinged black fruit, though I get the feeling that it’s already beginning to close down. The palate is medium-bodied and concentrated, with firm tannins, plenty of black fruit and impressive structure on the finish. Very fine, but give it a couple of years in bottle.

90-92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denChateau Clos du Roy 2020Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Clos du Roy 2020 Fronsac :
Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Clos du Roy leaps from the glass with vibrant notes of black cherries, baked plums and mossy tree bark, with wafts of wild mushrooms and chargrill. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the generous black fruit, finishing earthy.

87-89 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Clos du Roy 2020Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Clos du Roy:
The 2020 Clos du Roy has a fresh, well-defined blackberry and bilberry nose, subtle floral scents of iris flower and potpourri emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with an earthy, almost Left Bank-like entry, certainly one of the more structured and austere Fronsac wines. It just needs to develop more flesh on the finish.
