"Die Grands Crus des Jahrgangs 2017 gehören definitiv zu den besten trockenen Rieslingen in Deutschland" (Stephan Reinhardt)
Von Stephan Reinhardt im Januar 2020 degustiert:
From 220 meters altitude on quartzite and slate soils, the 2017 Hallgarten Jungfer Riesling Trocken GG displays an intense and crystalline nose with concentrated fruit and spicy-mineral aromas. Lush and round on the palate, this is a powerful and rich but nevertheless fine, pure and crystalline, tight Jungfer with a crunchy finish. It was aged on the full lees in a 1,200-liter barrel until February 2019 and for another eight weeks on the fine lees prior to the bottling in April. The finish is enormously long, complex and persistently salty and reveals serious tannin grip. Tasted in May 2019, the wine will be released in September 2020.
