Deep garnet-purple colored. the 2016 Dalem (blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) leaps from the glass with notions of warm black cherries. chocolate mint and baked black plums plus hints of star anise. garrigue and cedar chest. Full-bodied yet possessing fantastic freshness and harmony on the palate. it has wonderfully vibrant fruit and a ripe. grainy frame. finishing with a compelling lift.

93 Punkte Vinous / Galloni für den Chateau Dalem 2016 Fronsac Antonio Galloni bewertet den Dalem im Januar 2019 wie folgt:

The 2016 Dalem is a flamboyant. unctuous wine. Super-ripe black cherry. chocolate. blackberry. grilled herbs. menthol. licorice and incense all run though this opulent. unapologetically full-throttle Fronsac. Dalem is one of the most overt. voluptuous wines of the year. I find it utterly irresistible. Tasted two times.

92 Sucklingpunkte für den Dalem 2017 FronsacJames Suckling zum Dalem 2017 im Dezember 2019:

A very composed Fronsac here with blueberry and dark-plum aromas. as well as graphite and slate-like. dark-stone nuances. The palate has such fresh and defined tannins. Very balanced. too. A blend of 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin Tasting Note vom Januar 2020:

The 2017 Dalem is vinified without SO2 and sees 40% new oak. It has a clean and precise bouquet with perfumed blackberry and freshly picked mint aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. One of the most elegant Dalem wines that I have tasted in recent years with a clean and precise finish that is top drawer. This has kicked on since bottling and is turning into a very lovely Fronsac. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Graceful in feel, this delivers cassis and bitter plum notes infused with bergamot and floral hints that all carry through a refined, mineral-tinged finish. A charming, understated wine. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2030.

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Dalem has a deep garnet-purple color and compelling notes of blackberry preserves, wild blueberries and ripe, juicy black plums, with hints of dark chocolate, licorice and black olives. The full-bodied palate (15% alcohol) appears bright and fresh with the lively black fruits framed by soft, velvety tannins, finishing long and savory. Nicely done!

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Dalem 2018 Fronsac Subskription wie folgt:

The 2018 Dalem is quite backward on the nose, opening gradually to offer blackberry, licorice and very light menthol aromas; you just want to give the aromatics a polite kick up the backside. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Quite juicy in the mouth, delivering black cherries and cassis toward the well-defined, persistent finish. Excellent, but give it 24 months in bottle, because the nose needs time to find its mojo.

Dichter und satter Kern. frische intensiv fruchtige Nase. süssliche kleine Beeren. Schwarzkirsche. Im Mund satt mit guter Frucht. Schöne polierte Tannine, weich, frisch und sauberes Finale. Seit einigen Jahren nun ist der Dalem für uns die Benchmark in Fronsac, daran ändert auch der JG 2018 nichts.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 Dalem leaps from the glass with notes of ripe black cherries, juicy blackberries and stewed plums, plus suggestions of garrigue, star anise and chocolate mint. The full-bodied palate is chock-full of wonderfully pure, expressive black fruits, supported by plush tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aging for approximately 14 months in French oak barrels, 52% new.

93-94 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau Dalem 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Dalem 2020 Fronsac Folgendes:

Beautiful transparency and depth of fruit to this, yet it remains so refined and polished with extremely fine tannins that are energetic and long. Medium-to full-bodied. Such balance and intensity. One of the best I had from here in the making. 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Dalem 2020
Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Dalem:

The 2020 Dalem has a well-defined bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and light undergrowth scents, all very focused and beautifully delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, ripe but elegant, with plenty of freshness toward the finish. There is an effervescent quality about this nascent Fronsac that I love. A super Dalem that will age with style.

Vom Falstaff-Magazin mit 90-92 Punkten bewertet

Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Pflaumenfrucht, dunkle Kirschen unterlegt, dezente Kräuterwürze, kandierte Or- angenzesten. Mittlere Komplexität, frische rote Kirschen, lebendig strukturiert, feine Tannine, salziger Nachhall, ein vielseitiger Speisenbegleiter.
