94 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau La Serre 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau La Serre 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Including 15% Cabernet Franc, the Merlot-dominated 2020 Château La Serre comes from a 7-hectare vineyard of clay over limestone soils. It's another powerful, concentrated 2020 that has a load of fruit (black cherries, currants) as well as complex notes of loamy earth, spice box, and tobacco, with nicely integrated background oak. It has enough fruit and texture to offer pleasure today yet is going to evolve nicely for 20 years if well-stored.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 La Serre is sporting a lot of cedar at this nascent stage, giving way to notes of crushed black plums, fresh blackberries and boysenberries with hints of sassafras, clove oil and mocha. The medium-bodied palate has a great intensity of fresh black fruits with ripe, rounded tannins and a lively line, finishing long and spicy.

94-95 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau La Serre 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau La Serre 2020 Saint Emilion Folgendes:
A medium-bodied red with redcurrant, berry and light chocolate character. It’s creamy and chewy. Yet, it shows polish and refinement.

90-92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau La Serre 2020Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau La Serre:
The 2020 La Serre has (yet another) gorgeous, sensual and very pure bouquet of dark cherries, hints of cassis and wilted violet scents, the new oak seamlessly integrated. It reminds me of the 2018. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent black cherries and blueberry and saturated tannins counterpoised by a fine bead of acidity. It turns quite citric toward the end, and although it might not quite deliver the persistence of the 2018, this is another fine La Serre that should give 12–15 years of drinking pleasure.

93 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Badette 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Badette 2020 Saint Emilionbeschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
Aromas of ripe berries, licorice, cocoa, dried flowers and graphite. Medium-bodied with fine-grained, polished tannins and a silky texture. Smooth and refined with a lingering finish. Drink or hold.

95 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Badette 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Badette 2020 Saint Emilionbeschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2020 Château Badette comes from a tiny 7.58-hectare vineyard located on iron and clay soils. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot, and the élevage spanned 16 months in 80% new barrels. It has a gorgeous nose of blueberries, cassis, spring flowers, and chocolaty oak. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Saint-Emilion with ripe, integrated tannins, the vintage's pure, focused profile, and a great finish. This brilliant effort will shine for 15-20+ years from cold cellars.

92-94+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Badette 2020Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Badette 2020 Saint Emilion :
The 2020 Badette is a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, aging for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, 100% new. The alcohol is 15%. Opaque purple-black colored, the 2020 Badette erupts from the glass with bombastic notes of baked blackberries, plum preserves and kirsch, followed by hints of cedar chest, Chinese five spice, tar and licorice, plus a touch of eucalyptus. The full-bodied palate is full-on rich and decadent, featuring layers of black fruit preserves and exotic spices with a firm, grainy texture and plenty of freshness to support, finishing long and opulent.

91-93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Badette 2020Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Badette:
The 2020 Badette a property owned by Belgian Marc Vandenbogaerde, offers plenty of intense brambly red berry fruit on the nose laced with rose petal and violet - lots of chutzpah here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and black fruit, slightly powdery tannins with good depth and harmony. Gentle grip on the finish with fine persistence, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru has a lot of potential and well worth seeking out.

94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
A brilliant success for this property in the ascendant, the 2020 Berliquet opens in the glass with aromas of dark berries and cherries mingled with hints of warm spices and violets. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's vibrant and dynamic, with polished tannins, a bright spine and a long, elegantly chalky finish. It represents another step up for Berliquet, which will soon benefit from a new winery.

94 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
Blackberry with charcoal and dark earth aromas that follow through to a medium to full body with fruit, iron and moss flavors. It’s structured and well-formed with excellent balance of acidity. Drink after 2027.

94 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Another brilliant Saint-Emilion in the vintage, the 2020 Château Berliquet is mostly Merlot yet includes close to a third Cabernet Franc, which no doubt contributes to its elegant, finesse-driven, floral character. It's incredibly pure and classy, with notes of red and blue fruits, sappy spring flowers, graphite, and baking spices all emerging on the nose. These carry to a medium-bodied, ultra-fine, pure, seamless 2020 that offers pleasure today and will offer pleasure in 15+ years as well. This wine is never the biggest or richest in a vintage, but it shines for its purity, balance, and elegance. It's beautifully done.

92 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Berliquet 2020 Saint EmilionJames Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:
Nicely rendered, with a fresh, focused core of damson plum and red currant coulis laced with a floral edge and backed by a refined chalky note. The finish features warm tobacco accents to the blossom notes. A restrained style. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2024 through 2035. –JMänge und Potenzial.

92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint EmilionDen Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
92 The 2020 Trotte Vieille opens in the glass with aromas of sweet dark berries, violets and licorice framed by a generous application of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with impressive depth at the core, it's nicely balanced but a little wrapped up in firm, seemingly barrel-derived tannins. Improvements are underway in the vineyards, but for now, the élevage would appear to be this estate's weak link.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
98 The 2020 Château Trotte Vieille has closed down since I tasted it as a barrel sample in 2021 and needs lots of air, but this is an incredibly gorgeous wine. Its dense purple hue is followed by powerful, inward bouquet of ripe, incredibly pure black and blue fruits, smoky oak, tons of minerality, and a kiss of violets that takes lots of air to shine. The palate is similar in style, with a concentrated, focused, almost austere edge that carries beautiful tannins, awesome extract, flawless overall balance, and a great finish. While it's unquestionably a brilliant wine, it's not for those looking for instant gratification and is much more reserved than the 2019 at this stage. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it should have 25 to 30 years of overall longevity.

98-99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020James Suckling zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
Fantastic texture and structure to this wine with firm, silky tannins that go on and on. Love the crushed blackberries, blueberries and salt. Floral and mineral character, too. Full and tight with great length. Chewy at the very end, indicating real structure. All about structure and length. 50% cabernet franc, 49% merlot, and 1% cabernet sauvignon.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020NEAL MARTIN zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 TrotteVieille is quite broody and backward on the nose at first, demanding 15–20 minutes to open. It then reveals blackberry, sea spray/marine scents and hints of crushed chalk and pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a firm structure, indicating that this is a Saint-Émilion that should be cellared for several years. There is a lovely touch of white pepper and allspice toward the finish. I suspect this is a TrotteVieille that will reward the patient.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020GALLONI zum zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 Trotte Vieille is laced with inky, jammy dark fruit, licorice and bittersweet chocolate. This heady, potent Saint-Émilion is not exactly subtle, but it does offer tons of intensity in an opulent, heady style. The only thing missing is a bit of midpalate pliancy and overall persistence.

95 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint EmilionJames Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:

Very expressive, with a lovely violet and cassis set of aromas and flavors that spill forth, though this keeps focus and form, as subtle minerality and a very fine-grained structure allows this to flow gracefully through the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2028 through 2040. 4,800 cases made. –JM

95+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:

The 2020 Pavie Macquin is performing well in bottle, unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet raspberries and cherries mingled with notions of orange zest, violets, spices, bay leaf and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's deep and fleshy, its ample core of fruit framed by youthfully firm, chalky tannins. As usual, it's more structured than Larcis Ducasse, and it remains a bottling that will demand some patience, even if the Thienpont team have subtly eased off on extraction over the last few vintages, a welcome trend that I hope will be pushed further.

98 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion
Den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:

I have never had a Pavie Macquin like this. It’s so fresh and vivid with black cherry, currant and raspberry character, as well as citrus. Some mineral and spice. Salt, too. The palate is full and linear with a verticality that takes you so deep and long. Endless. Transparent. Drink after 2028.

96+ Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Pavie Macquin 2020 Saint Emilionbeschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:

The dense purple-hued 2020 Château Pavie Macquin checks in as a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from yields of 31 hectoliters per hectare and a selection of 85% of the production. Incredibly pure cassis and blueberry fruits as well as complex spring flowers, liquid violets, white truffle, and a liqueur of limestone-like minerality define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with ultra-fine tannins, the vintage's pure, focused, structured profile, and a great finish. As in most vintages, this beauty is not for instant gratification and needs 7-8 years, if not a decade of cellaring to show its potential. It's another true vin de garde from the team of Nicolas Thienpont (Stéphane Derenoncourt also consults) that readers will love to have in their cellar.
