The 2016 Belle-Vue is a fabulous value. as it often is. Dark red cherry. plum. chocolate. leather and spice are all amped up in this generous. superbly delicious Haut-Médoc. The blend is 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot.

Blended of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot. the 2016 Belle-Vue has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and nose of spice box. cedar chest and oolong tea with a core of red and black currants plus a waft of chargrill. The palate is medium-bodied. fresh. soft and juicy with a lovely burst of black fruit in the mouth leading to a savory finish. Nearly 900 cases were made.

The 2016 Belle-Vue feels just a little reduced on the nose and demands some aeration: quite intense black cherries. blueberry and boysenberry jam. ebbing away to reveal more marine-like influences. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin. good acidity. very smooth and harmonious and. though there is a fair "slap" of new oak on the finish. it feels simpatico with the fruit. Give this two or three years in the cellar. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.

The 2016 Belle Vue is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot picked at 55 hectoliters per hectare between 3 October and matured in 30% new oak. It has a surprisingly backward bouquet that demanded some coaxing. a succinct nose with just a touch of pencil lead. The palate is well balanced with succulent black fruit. a light grip in the mouth and a very Margaux-like finish. The 2015 was very fine. but I think this might turn out to be even better. This comes recommended.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored. the 2016 Senejac gives notions of crushed red and black cherries. mulberries and cassis with touches of earth. violets. chocolate box and cinnamon stick. Medium-bodied and laden with bags of juicy fruit. it has a soft structure and great length.

Dem JG 2015 vergab Sie wenig schmeichelnde 78 Punkte. Die 90 Punkte für den 2016er ist also eine deutliche Steigerung in der Qualität.
