Juicy and pleasantly chewy with milk chocolate, walnut and currant aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, creamy and flavorful. Second wine of Montrose. Drink after 2024.

91 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum La Dame de Montrose 2019 Zweitwein von Chateau Montrose:

The 2019 La Dame de Montrose, which I tasted in June and September 2021, has a fresh mulberry, black plum and granite-scented bouquet that is quite precocious; touches of morel appear in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, quite structured and almost Pauillac-like, thanks to veins of graphite toward the finish provided by the 48% Cabernet Sauvignon. Saline on the aftertaste, though not tremendously long, this is a very promising Deuxième Vin.

92 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Für den Wine Spectator verköstigte James Molesworth denLa Dame de Montrose 2019 Zweitwein von Chateau Montrose:

Very solid, with a core of lightly steeped plum and blackberry fruit, supported by a streak of iron and framed by smoldering tobacco and dark earth notes. Good energy throughout as well, with a mouthwatering echo at the end. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2032.

93 Punkte vom Falstaff für den La Dame de Montrose 2019 Zweitwein von Chateau MontroseDer La Dame de Montrose 2019 Zweitwein von Chateau Montrose am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

"The Merlots were so good this year that most have gone into the first wine. giving this a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon than usual and making it a serious Dame de Montrose. with clear ageing potential. Elegant and balanced. with purity and juicy black fruits. It has that savoury Cabernet quality which is very Médocain. this is absolutely one to look out for. packed with estate signature. 30% new oak. 43% of total production. 4% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Lovely new label here also. with rose gold roses across it."

Den Chateau Tronquoy 2022 Saint Estephe verkostet Christian Balog von CB Weinhandel in Essen für Sie wie folgt: Christian Balog beschreibt den Wein wie folgt:
Tronquoy Saint Estephe 2022 14,5Alc. 91-93 Punkte

94-96 Punkte Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Tronquoy 2022 Saint EstepheLots of plums, blue and black fruits, earth, chocolate, and hints of earth all emerge from the 2022 Château Tronquoy, a full-bodied, pure, powerful Saint-Estèphe with impressive tannins and a great finish. It shows more floral and red-fruited nuances with time in the glass, and this is clearly a beautiful wine in the making. It shows the ripeness of the vintage while staying pure, balanced, and seamless.

89-91 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Tronquoy 2022 Saint EstepheThe 2022 Tronquoy (formerly Tronquoy-Lalande) is an especially rich and powerful wine, offering up aromas of dark berries and cherries framed by creamy new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy palate structured around lively acids and powdery tannins that assert themselves on the vanillin-inflected finish. A blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot (which is an atypically high percentage of Cabernet from this estate, especially in a vintage where Merlot delivered better yields), it would appear to be intended to make an impression en primeur, as Tronquoy is now being sold on the place. That's a pity, as this estate's considerable intrinsic qualities would surely have made enough of an impression on their own.

92-93 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Tronquoy 2022 Saint EstepheA fresh and solid TL with currants and cherries. Hints of chocolate and spice. Medium to full body. Complex aromas of blackcurrant, black olive, clove, oyster shell, pencil lead and tobacco. It’s full-bodied with firm, tightly knit tannins. Concentrated and focused with a very long, spice and mineral finish. Fantastic bottle. Try from 2026.

The core of ripe cassis, plum sauce and raspberry purée flavors have a succulent feel, while licorice snap, graphite and singed alder notes play along the edges. Nice glycerine feel through the focused and fine-grained finish. Tempting now, but time will bring more nuance. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

BEST EVER!

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 D’Armailhac (a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot) hits the ground running with wonderfully open-knit, flamboyant scents of Morello cherries, black raspberries, blackcurrant jelly and rose oil, leading to an undercurrent of cinnamon toast, aniseed and mossy tree bark. The medium to full-bodied palate is charged with energy and expressiveness, delivering red and black berry layers with loads of spicy sparks, framed by plush tannins, finishing long and fragrant.

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau d Armailhac 2018 Paulliac wie folgt:

The 2018 d'Armailhac is bright, fresh and so inviting, just as it was en primeur. Sweet red cherry fruit, cedar, spice, tobacco and anise add lovely aromatic complexity. All of the intensity of the year comes through nicely and yet the personality of Armailhac is evident also. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years, to allow some of the baby fat to melt away. There is a bit more breadth and richness that is the result of yields that were just 32 hectoliters per hectare as opposed to the more typical 42 or so. It was a vintage marked by heat stress, small berries and lower juice to skin ratio, as well as some parcels affected by mildew.

11 Nov, 2021 – Intense aromas of blackcurrants, cedar and ripe tobacco with hints of violets, following through to a full-bodied palate with extremely refined tannins that are well-integrated into the wine and are long and subtle at the finish. Such precision and harmony with structure. From biodynamically grown grapes. Best after 2023.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau PalmerAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau Palmer:

The 2019 Alter Ego is a huge, dense wine. Ripe, exotic and packed to the core, Alter Ego makes a convincing first impression. Time in the glass brings out floral accents and redder tonalities of fruit. Partial aging in foudres has introduced and element of rigor and tension here that is so alluring in the way it complements the natural richness these wines always show.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau PalmerUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau Palmer:

The 2019 Alter Ego de Palmer has a classically styled bouquet featuring a mélange of red and black fruit, briar, hints of cedar, and a touch of black tea, all showing lovely delineation. The palate is fresh and vibrant, displaying a touch of sour cherry on the granular-textured opening. There is something very "old school" about this Alter Ego in contrast to the 2018. Very saline toward the finish, with good persistence.

95 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau PalmerDer Alter Ego de Palmer 2019 Margaux Chateau Palmer am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. (2025 - 2040)

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Duhart Milon 2018 PauillacAntonio Galloni im März 2021:
(als Fassmuster noch 88-90 massiv aufgewertet)

Just as it was from barrel, the 2018 Duhart-Milon is a real powerhouse. Black cherry, gravel, spice, espresso and savory herbs infuse the 2018 with notable depth and power. A brooding, virile wine, the Duhart-Milon packs a serious punch. I would give it a few years to soften. The 2018 has really come together since en primeur. In fact, the bottled wine bears little semblance to the en primeur sample, which is a very good thing. There is real density and weight here, with all of the natural richness of the year.

96 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Duhart Milon 2018 PauillacJames Suckling im Januar 2021:

Sweet berries and cherries on the nose with sweet tobacco, lead pencil and blackcurrants. It’s full-bodied and very rich with layers of fruit and creamy tannins intertwined. Extremely long and creamy. Great Duhart. Try after 2026.

The 2018 Duhart-Milon is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. With 14% alcohol, it has a deep garnet-purple color and a seductively ripe, opulent nose of plum preserves, blackberry pie and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of spice cake, potpourri, sandalwood and eucalyptus oil. Medium-bodied, it is jam-packed with rich, spicy black fruit preserves, with floral accents and a velvety texture, finishing long and fragrant. So. Good.
