Chateau de la Dauphine

The famous wine journalist Neal Martin from VINOUS magazine just published his reviews about 2018 vintage en primeurs. (Januar 2020)

Château de La Dauphine 2018 gets the best reviews of the appellation and becomes the84th winery on the 483 tasted in Bordeaux vineyard. 92-94 points :

“The 2018 La Dauphine is blessed with a knockout bouquet of precocious black currant and raspberry fruit laced with tobacco and clove, very focused and very well delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, great depth, very good acidity and a surfeit of freshness. Silky-smooth on the plummy finish, this is an utterly delicious Fronsac that will give a couple of decades of drinking pleasure.”

91 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den La Dauphine 2016Antonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 La Dauphine is fabulous. Exotic. super-ripe and flamboyant to the core. the 2016 possesses tremendous depth and tons of personality. Blackberry jam. plum. chocolate. espresso. spice and licorice give the 2016 its distinctly dark personality. The extracted style brings out darker shades of fruit and heavy torrefaction notes at the expense of fruit brightness and freshness. which is a stylistic choice. I would prefer to drink the 2016 over the next few years.

90 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den La Dauphine 2016Lisa Perrotti Brown im November 2018:

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored. the 2016 de la Dauphine reveals notes of baked black cherries. dried mulberries. spice cake and tobacco with a core of blackberry compote and mincemeat pie plus a touch of dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied. the palate delivers loads of savory accents to complement the ripe black fruits. framed by rounded tannins and finishing on an herbal note.

There’s a gently savory edge to the nose here with a wealth of very juicy and attractively fresh red plums on offer. The palate is nicely proportioned with smooth. fleshy and lithe tannin. Red plums hold fresh. A blend of 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2017 de la Dauphine opens with black cherries and warm blackberries notes with wafts of Indian spices and dusty soil. The palate is medium-bodied. firm and chewy with a lively line and long earthy finish.

Chateau de La Dauphine 2017 FronsacDas Team von Vinous bewertet das Fassmuster im Mai 2018 wie folgt:

The 2017 La Dauphine has a well-defined. focused. well-mannered bouquet with concentrated blackberry. raspberry preserve and graphite aromas. The palate is well balanced with grippy tannin. not as sensual as the nascent Dalem and with more expressive. peppery Cabernet Franc driving the finish. It will be fascinating to see how this ages. - Neal Martin

The 2018 La Dauphine is silky. nuanced and super-expressive. Inky dark fruit. chocolate. spice. lavender and dried flowers add nuance. In some tastings. La Dauphine has come across as understated and classy. while towards the end of my en primeur tastings I saw a much richer. denser wine. Either way. La Dauphine is one of most compelling under the radar wines of the year. Tasted four times. und vergibt ihm 89-91 Punkte.

90-92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denChateau de La Dauphine 2020
Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau de La Dauphine 2020 Fronsac :

Deep purple-black in color, the 2020 de la Dauphine opens with expressive notes of baked blackberries, prunes and Christmas pudding, leading to hints of eucalyptus, tar and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is rich and decadent, delivering impactful exotic spice-laced black fruit preserves with just enough freshness and a velvety texture, finishing long and opulent.

92-93 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau de La Dauphine 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau de La Dauphine 2020 Fronsac Folgendes:

A firm, solid red with blackberry, black-licorice and stone aromas and flavors. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, polished tannins. Very well structured.

91-93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau de La Dauphine 2020
Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau de La Dauphine:

The 2020 La Dauphine is tight on the nose at first, opening to offer blackberry, bilberry and light briny scents and coalescing nicely over several minutes. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, traces of soot and ash in the background and lovely delineation on the finish, but it’s a little sinewy, so it will require 3–5 years in bottle. Very fine.

Vom Falstaff-Magazin mit 90-92 Punkten bewertet

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.
