Chateau Beau Sejour Becot

Chateau Beau Sejour Becot

Direktor: Nicolas Thienpont
Berater: Stephane Derenoncourt
Zweitwein: Tournelle de Beau-Sejou Becot

Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2015Antonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

Just as impressive from bottle as it was from barrel. the Beau-Séjour-Bécot is superb. Expressive plum. grilled herb. lavender and spice flesh out in the glass. Voluptuous and racy. with no hard edges. the 2015 has much to offer. This is in an especially dense. explosive style. and yet all the elements are wonderfully fused together. I would give the 2015 a few years in bottle to start showing at its best.

Juicy and forward in feel. with fresh plum. blackberry and anise notes. Dense. but still silky and refined in feel. revealing a long mineral echo through the finish. This is so pure. it seems almost too easy to drink already. just as you realize how ridiculously long it is.

94-97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2018 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

The 2018 Beau-Sejour Becot is fabulous. Dense. rich and explosive. the 2018 has it all. Soaring aromatics and a huge spine of tannin give the 2018 its regal contours. The 2018 was barreled down late. and it is still coming together. especially in its aromatics. but its potential is evident. A wine of tremendous character and personality Beau-Sejour Becot dazzles in 2018. It is an utterly captivating Saint-Emilion from Juliette Becot and Julien Barthe. along with their consulting winemaker Thomas Duclos.

Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Joanin Becot 2020 Cotes de Castillon :

The 2020 Joanin Becot has a deep purple-black color and fragrant notions of Morello cherries, black raspberries, stewed plums and violets, with hints of cardamom and Sichuan pepper, plus a touch of forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is soft and juicy, delivering compelling freshness and a beautifully harmonious finish.

92-93 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau Joanin Becot 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Joanin Becot 2020 Cotes de Castillon Folgendes:

This is very spicy with lots of crushed sea salt and cloves. Dark fruit, chocolate and blackberries. Very round, yet chewy. A luxurious red from this appellation. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc.

87-89 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Joanin Becot 2020
Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Joanin Becot:

The 2020 Joanin Bécot was affected by a hailstorm in May which resulted in some Cabernet Franc being parsed out from the blend, so this year there is half the normal production. It has quite a dense and quite earthy nose, introverted black fruit mixed with potpourri and traces of orange zest, the latter becoming more prominent with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, gritty tannins with a smudge of dark chocolate towards the sandy finish. It needs a little more flesh around the bones, but that should come during its barrel maturation.

Die Degustationsnotiz des Wine Advocate zum Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2020 Saint Emilion :

Displaying a deep purple-black color, the 2020 Beau-Sejour Becot prances out of the glass with showy scents of preserved plums, chocolate-covered cherries, wild blueberries and raspberry preserves, plus suggestions of rose oil, ground cloves and licorice. The elegantly crafted, medium-bodied palate shimmers with energy, offering a fantastic intensity of crunchy red and black fruits, supported by fine-grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Simply stunning.

96-97 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2020 Saint Emilion Folgendes:

This has a fantastic finish with crushed blackberries and raspberries and salt undertones. It’s full-bodied, yet really racy and polished with such fine, intense tannins. Love the length to this. Very distinguished and toned. Excellent energy. 85% merlot, 13% cabernet franc and 2% cabernet sauvignon.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Beau Sejour Becot 2020
Das meint die Vinous-Mannschaft um Antonio Galloni zum Chateau Beau Sejour Becot:

The 2020 Beau-Séjour Bécot was picked 8 September until 30 September, but mostly between 8-12 September, around 70% of the production. It is one of the highest percentages of Merlot in recent years partly due to restructuring of the vineyard and also higher yields (47-48hl/ha) compared to the Cabernets. With no SO2 used during fermentation and matured in 55% new oak (20hl Stockinger and Taransaud foudres and regular barriques) it is tightly wound on the nose, so I afforded the sample an hour to really open. It offers predominantly red berry fruit, wild mint and traces of dried honey, more floral scents emerging, violet and iris flower blossoming with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very well judged acidity, a very graceful and unpretentious Saint-Émilion, harmonious with a touch of white pepper enhancing the precise finish. This is a classically styled Beau-Séjour Bécot that conveys a brooding intensity, so I would give it several years in the cellar.
