November 2018 Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Dalem (blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc) leaps from the glass with notions of warm black cherries, chocolate mint and baked black plums plus hints of star anise, garrigue and cedar chest. Full-bodied yet possessing fantastic freshness and harmony on the palate, it has wonderfully vibrant fruit and a ripe, grainy frame. finishing with a compelling lift.

Super-ripe black cherry, chocolate, blackberry, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and incense all run though this opulent, unapologetically full-throttle Fronsac. Dalem is one of the most overt, voluptuous wines of the year. I find it utterly irresistible. Tasted two times.

The 2016 Dalem. the Fronsac estate belonging to Brigitte Rullier-Loussert. is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc cropped at 41 hectoliters per hectare. It has a well defined bouquet with blackberry and blueberry fruit. fine cedar and undergrowth aromas developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. smooth and refined in the mouth with just a dash of black pepper on the silky finish. This may even surpass the impressive 2015 Dalem that I tasted last year.

Unsere Meinung zum Chateau Dalem 2016 aus dem Fronsac:
Das Chateau Dalem hat jetzt mit den Jahrgängen 2015 und 2016 zwei grossartige Weinewerte geschaffen. Der Unterschied dieser zwei Weine ist. dass der 2016er noch ein wenig mehr Tannin aufweist und wahrscheinlich eine kleine Anlaufphase brauchen könnte. Ist gar nicht schlimm denn für die Zeit davor empfehlen wir den etwas weicheren und fruchtbetonteren 2015er Chateau Dalem. Für uns ist die Region Fronsac das beste Gebiet um tolle Schnäppchen zu machen im Jahrgang 2016. Denn ob Chateau Dalem 2016. La Vieille Cure 2016. La Dauphine 2016 oder Canon Pecresse 2016 sie alles sind Beweis dafür. Während unserer Primeur Verkostungen hatten wir den Chateau Dalem 2016 mehrfach im Glas und er ist betörend mit seiner dunklen Frucht und dem dichten satten Kern. am Gaumen bleibt er ebenfalls lange haften und klingt sehr angnehm aus. unsere Wertung 91-92+.
