James Suckling über den Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2019 Saint Emilion:
21 Jan, 2022 – Aromas of dark plums, blueberries, bark, dried leaves, mahogany, licorice and nutmeg. It’s medium-to full-bodied with silky, ripe tannins. Layered and supple with a stylish and polished finish. Voluptuous. One of the best in a long time. Drink from 2026.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Canon La Gaffelière is utterly fabulous. All the elements come together in a Saint-Émilion that dazzles with its completeness and total sense of balance. Raspberry jam, blood orange, spice, lavender and dried flowers infuse the 2019 with captivating nuance. La Gaffelière is a rich, potent wine that exudes class and pedigree right out of the gate. In a word: superb.
Und Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Canon La Gaffelière bides its time in the glass, tightly wound at first, then unfurling to reveal vivacious red berries, crushed violet and light iodine aromas that are all exquisitely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and perfectly judged acidity, seamless and harmonious. It gently builds with just the right amount of sapidity on the finish. Is this among the best Canon-la-Gaffelière ever made? Most definitely.

Pepper, bay and roasted tobacco notes give this a distinct persona out of the gate, while sous bois and mulled plum, black currant and black cherry fruit flavors fill in behind. Singed juniper and alder hints add form through the finish. Serious kudos for its range and character, but may be a touch too old school for some folks. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2024 through 2038. 5,833 cases made.
