92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chapelle d Ausone 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chapelle d Ausone 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
The 2020 Chapelle d'Ausone contains more Cabernet Franc (60%) than the grand vin this year and 5% of Cabernet Sauvignon too. Revealing aromas of cherries, red berries, incense and cloves, it's medium to full-bodied, perfumed and precise, with a satiny attack and a saline finish.

94 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chapelle d Ausone 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chapelle d Ausone 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
The second wine of Château Ausone, the 2020 Chapelle D'Ausone is based on 60% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in barrel. It's saturated purple hue is followed by a rockstar nose of ripe darker cherries, blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, graphite, and toasted spices, with high class oak nicely integrated. Round, supple, and incredibly sexy, it has silky tannins and is unquestionably a brilliant wine with more than a touch of Ausone character. It's going to keep for two decades, offering tons of pleasure for the majority of its life.

Anfangs wenig offen. Etwas Amarenakirsche. Pfeffrige Noten.

Shows the warmth of the vintage with a dark plum, boysenberry and black currant core but manages it well, with sleek, wellembedded chalky minerality providing a serious spine, while sweet tobacco, alder and loam accents peek in on the fruit throughout. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2030 through 2040. 1,500 cases made, 140 cases imported. –JM

96+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
I typically have a weakness for Canon-la-Gaffelière, with its high percentage of Cabernet Franc, in the Von Neipperg portfolio. But this year, it's the 2020 La Mondotte that takes center stage, offering up aromas of dark berries, plums, licorice, incense and vine smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and vibrant palate of striking harmony and concentration. It's the most seamless, complete wine I've ever tasted from this brilliant clay-limestone terroir.

99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
Blackberries, blueberries and flowers such as lavender and dark roses on the nose. Dried flowers as well. Feels medium-bodied with seamless tannins that spread across the palate. Savory and agile with a weightless feel. Hints of white pepper and salt. Makes you want to taste it. Better after 2026.

99 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau La Mondotte 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
99 Just about pure perfection, the 2020 La Mondotte comes from a tiny parcel of limestone soils on the upper plateau, not far from Troplong Mondot. Mostly Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, its deep purple hue is followed by a brilliant bouquet of crème de cassis, crushed stone, graphite, mulled black cherries, and hints of truffle. Full-bodied, incredibly elegant yet also concentrated and flawlessly balanced, it's as good as anything in the vintage. Give bottles 4-6 years in the cellar, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following 2-3 decades.

A strong effort, the 2020 Grand Corbin-Despagne wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet blackberries, plums, bay leaf and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it's seamless and enveloping, its vibrant core of fruit underpinned by melting tannins. This improving estate is situated on sandy soils over blue clay just across the border from Pomerol.

Beautifully complex, medium to full-bodied, layered, and elegant on the palate, it has the vintage's concentration and power while staying light on its feet and graceful. It's another brilliant 2020 that will benefit from just short-term bottle age and keep for over two decades.

There is a gorgeous vibrancy and purity in the sweet, ripe, red fruits that linger, long after the wine has left your glass. Produced from blending 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, this finesse styled wine is clearly one of the best vintages of Chateau Grand Corbin-Despagne ever produced. The 2020 Clos de l’Oratoire is very cohesive on the nose of plush blackberry, raspberry, melted tar and light licorice scents, the latter becoming more vocal with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and quite firm and structured, with gentle grip on the entry and good acidity. Tightens up toward a finish that doesn’t want to give everything away at this prenatal stage. Give this 3–4 years once in bottle. because it has long-term potential.

92 The 2020 Trotte Vieille opens in the glass with aromas of sweet dark berries, violets and licorice framed by a generous application of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with impressive depth at the core, it's nicely balanced but a little wrapped up in firm, seemingly barrel-derived tannins. Improvements are underway in the vineyards, but for now, the élevage would appear to be this estate's weak link.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
98 The 2020 Château Trotte Vieille has closed down since I tasted it as a barrel sample in 2021 and needs lots of air, but this is an incredibly gorgeous wine. Its dense purple hue is followed by powerful, inward bouquet of ripe, incredibly pure black and blue fruits, smoky oak, tons of minerality, and a kiss of violets that takes lots of air to shine. The palate is similar in style, with a concentrated, focused, almost austere edge that carries beautiful tannins, awesome extract, flawless overall balance, and a great finish. While it's unquestionably a brilliant wine, it's not for those looking for instant gratification and is much more reserved than the 2019 at this stage. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it should have 25 to 30 years of overall longevity.

98-99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020James Suckling zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
Fantastic texture and structure to this wine with firm, silky tannins that go on and on. Love the crushed blackberries, blueberries and salt. Floral and mineral character, too. Full and tight with great length. Chewy at the very end, indicating real structure. All about structure and length. 50% cabernet franc, 49% merlot, and 1% cabernet sauvignon.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020NEAL MARTIN zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 TrotteVieille is quite broody and backward on the nose at first, demanding 15–20 minutes to open. It then reveals blackberry, sea spray/marine scents and hints of crushed chalk and pencil box. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a firm structure, indicating that this is a Saint-Émilion that should be cellared for several years. There is a lovely touch of white pepper and allspice toward the finish. I suspect this is a TrotteVieille that will reward the patient.

92-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion, Trottevieille 2020GALLONI zum zum Chateau Trotte Vieille 2020 Saint Emilion:
The 2020 Trotte Vieille is laced with inky, jammy dark fruit, licorice and bittersweet chocolate. This heady, potent Saint-Émilion is not exactly subtle, but it does offer tons of intensity in an opulent, heady style. The only thing missing is a bit of midpalate pliancy and overall persistence.

These carry to a medium-bodied, ultra-fine, pure, seamless 2020 that offers pleasure today and will offer pleasure in 15+ years as well. Another head-turning vintage from this château, the 2020 Château Sansonnet is based on 95% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, from yields of 36 hectoliters per hectare, that was raised in 80% new barrels. Possessing incredible purity in its black raspberry and cassis fruit as well as notes of white flowers, camphor, and spicy oak, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, polished, ultra-fine tannins, flawless balance, and a great, great finish. This estate, under the guidance of Marie and Christophe Lefévère, has had a shocking string of truly incredible vintages, and given that these continue to be undervalued in the market, it's the wine lovers and wine drinkers out there who benefit. If you get a chance, don't miss this beauty.
