Medium to deep garnet-purple in color. the 2016 Gazin features a beautifully perfumed nose of violets. Medium-bodied and elegant. with compelling restraint. it has a seductively plush texture. finishing with bags of poise. perfume and persistence.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Gazin 2016 PomerolVerkostungsbericht aus Januar 2019:

The 2016 Gazin has a pure bouquet of luscious blackberry. black truffle and light smoky aromas that gain vigor with aeration. There is an unerring sense of control here. as if keeping something back for later. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin. a silky-smooth texture and beguiling. graphite-tinged black fruit toward the refined. persistent finish. Flecks of clove linger on the finish. Classic Gazin. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

95 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Gazin 2016 PomerolVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:

This sophisticated Pomerol slowly creeps up on you. then suddenly you’re in the deep end. The complex and delicate. floral and mangosteen aromas are married to a great tannin structure and nothing about this wine is a jot exaggerated. Long. mineral and spice finish with a weightless quality. Drink or hold.

93-96 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Gazin 2018 PomerolJames Mothels bewertet den Chateau Gazin 2018 Pomerol wie folgt:

Dark plum and blackberry reduction flavors pick up light ganache and licorice snap notes along the way. Has the vintage's grip on the back end. giving this a serious feel.

91-93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Gazin 2018 PomerolLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Gazin 2018 Pomerol wie folgt:

Deep garnet-purple colored. the 2018 Gazin (composed of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc) has quite an earthy/broody nose to begin. with subtle black soil. tar and chargrill notes giving way to a core of prunes. baked blueberries and sauteed herbs. Full. muscular and chewy in the mouth. it has loads of earthy layers and a dried herbs lift on the finish.

91-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Gazin 2018 PomerolAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Gazin 2018 Pomerol wie folgt:

The 2018 Gazin was impressive all three times I tasted it. Powerful and vibrant. with terrific persistence. the 2018 has more than enough supporting structure to balance the natural richness of the year. Grilled herbs. scorched earth. iron. licorice. mint and dried flowers give the red/purplish toned fruit a decidedly savory dimension that is hugely attractive. Some samples showed quite a bit of tannin. but the wine has more than enough breadth to develop beautifully during elevage and beyond. Tasted three times.

95-97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Gazin 2019 Pomerol Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Gazin 2019 Pomerol im Mai 2020:

The 2019 Gazin is tightly wound at first and needs coaxing from the glass. Broody dark berry fruit. truffle and smoke eventually emerge. flanked by a discrete marine influence. The palate is very promising with saturated tannins that belie the structure of this Pomerol. The freshness is very impressive. lighting up the senses. The finish is imbued with wonderful tension and traces of iron on the aftertaste. Quintessentially Gazin. this is a superb wine.
