96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Barde Haut 2016 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni Januar 2019:

Readers will find a rich, flamboyant wine in the 2016 Barde-Haut. There is not a ton of subtlety here, but I am not sure that matters all that much given how immensely pleasing the 2016 is. Crushed rocks, graphite, lavender, blackberry, plum, and violet infuse a Saint-Émilion that offers tremendous textural richness as well as vibrancy. Most importantly of all, the 2016 is flat-out delicious. This is a decidedly opulent, dark Saint-Émilion with all of the elements impeccably balanced. I loved it.

93+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Barde Haut 2016 Saint EmilionLisa Perrotti Brown im November 2018:

The 2016 Barde Haut is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it gives up expressive wild blueberries, kirsch, baked plums and spice box notes with hints of cracked pepper, lavender, garrigue and Provence herbs. Medium to full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, the palate bursts with blue fruits, framed by firm, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long.

94 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Barde Haut 2016 Saint EmilionJames Suckling Januar 2019:

This shows such complex and beautiful aromas of flowers, lavender, light spearmint and currants. Medium to full body, very fine tannins and a long finish. All about finesse and length. Drink after 2022.

A complex, composed impression on the nose with rich plum and earthy aromas, nicely framed in oak spice. All working well. The palate has a very smooth, supple feel with a plush build of attractive, fleshy fruit and a very impressive hold of juicy blue fruit on the finish. Drink of hold.

Gorgeous purity of fruit in this wine with depth and beauty. Full-bodied. It really grows on the palate with a hyper fine tannin texture.

91-94 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint EmilionJames Mothels bewertet den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

Very juicy, with lots of blackberry and black currant compote flavors. The ample toast has yet to be fully soaked up, with notes of licorice root and singed apple wood jutting out. A bit chewy on the finish. Slightly unbridled today, but if this rounds into form it will be a real winner.

92-94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint EmilionLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

The 2018 Barde-Haut is a final blend composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it sashays sensuously out of the glass with effortless baked blackberries, preserved plums and blueberry pie notes plus hints of incense, powdered cinnamon, cigar box and star anise. Full-bodied and packed with spicy black and blue fruits, it is beautifully textured with firm, velvety tannins and just enough background freshness, finishing very long and seductive.

92-95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Barde Haut 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

The 2018 Barde-Haut is a rich, heady wine. Crème de cassis, blackberry jam, chocolate, leather and spice race out of the glass in this flamboyant, exotically ripe Saint-emilion. There is no shortage of stuffing, but the wine needs time to come together. Specifically, the new oak needs to integrate more fully, but this is a barrel sample, and it is not uncommon to see wines at this stage showing this way. The more exotic side of the vintage is very much on display. The harvest ranged from September 29 to October 12, which is relatively drawn out by the estate's standards.

This is a fantastic wine from this estate with so much blackberry, blueberry and mineral character. Full-bodied and extremely polished. The texture and finesse are great, but then it takes off. Greatest ever.

Subtle aromas of mint, bay leaf and dark berries follow through to a full body with chewy and polished tannins and a tight, structured finish. Extremely long and firm. Give this at least another four or five years to soften and come together. Try after 2023.

96 Punkte bei Jeb Dunnuck Chateau Poesia 2016 Saint Emilion Grand CruJeb Dunnuck bewertet den Chateau Poesia 2016 im Februar 2019 wie folgt:

A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Château Poesia is more open and showy compared to the Barde Haut, offering fabulous limestone-like character in its kirsch and currant fruits and notes of dried herbs, white truffle, and dried flowers. Possessing medium to full body, ripe, present tannins, terrific concentration, and a great finish, it's another incredibly classy Saint Emilion from the Garcin-Lévêque family.

94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Poesia 2016 Saint Emilion Grand CruLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Poesia 2016 Saint Emilion Grand Cru wie folgt:

The 2016 Poesia is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple, the nose delivers vibrant Black Forest cake, redcurrants and Morello cherries notes with touches of cinnamon stick, rose hip tea, pencil shavings, tobacco and milk chocolate. The medium-bodied palate charges out of the gate with bright red berries layers and loads of herbal sparks, framed by rock-solid, ripe, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing very long. It should offer very good aging potential.

A really fantastic young wine with crushed blackberries, black truffles and stones. White pepper, too. It’s full-bodied, tight and polished with beautiful texture. Excellent, like the 2018.

93-95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Barde Haut 2019 Saint Emilion Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Barde Haut 2019 Saint Emilion im Juni 2020:

The 2019 Barde-Haut has a not dissimilar bouquet to the excellent Poesia, vivacious and intense with black cherries, blueberry, vanilla pod and raspberry that likewise burst from the glass. Lovely purity here. The palate is very well balanced with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity, full of tension and poise with a detailed, cedar and graphite tinged finish. This is a superb Barde-Haute that will give 20+ years of drinking pleasure.

93-95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Barde Haut 2019 Saint Emilion Antonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Barde Haut 2019 Saint Emilion im Juni 2020:

The 2019 Barde-Haut is an opulent, full-throttle Saint-Émilion. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, cloves and menthol power through in a heady, exotic Saint-Émilion that very much reflects the opulent style of the year. Today, the tannins are equally imposing, which suggests the 2019 is going to need a number of years in bottle to come around. Readers should expected a potent, flamboyantly ripe style.
Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and Patrice Lévêque turned out a gorgeous set of 2019s. The wines are deep, ample and so expressive. Readers who want to understand the diversity of Saint-Émilion will find that in Barde-Haut and Poesia, two wines that really capture the personality of the vintage in these two districts.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Barde-Haut comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery black plums, Morello cherries, black raspberries and mulberries scents plus suggestions of dusty soil, cinnamon stick, pencil shavings and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has wonderful energy, with a lively line of freshness and well-played, rounded tannins, finishing with an invigorating lift.

The 2019 Poesia is a real beauty. Pliant and seductive in the glass, with striking depth, Poesia is absolutely gorgeous in 2019. Plush fruit and soft curves give the 2019 so much pure appeal. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and licorice all meld together in sumptuous Saint-Émilion that will drink well right out of the gate. Sweet floral notes resonate on the effortless finish. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Poesia is a little closed to begin, soon opening out to reveal wonderfully pure notes of crushed red and black plums, fresh blackberries and warm cherries with nuances of allspice, aniseed, potpourri and forest floor. Medium-bodied, the palate is tightly wound, featuring loads of mineral sparks and a wicked backbone of freshness, with very fine-grained tannins to support, finishing long and vibrant.

The 2019 Poesia might well be in possession of the best aromatics that I have encountered on this Saint-Émilion. Vibrant and intense blackberry and boysenberry fruit burst from the glass whilst maintaining superb delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Extremely focused with impressive mineral tension on the effortless finish. Highly recommended.
