96 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint Emilion James Suckling bewertet den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint Emilion im Dezember 2019:

Very perfumed and subtle with crushed currants. smoke and blackberries. Medium to full body. Compressed. round tannins and a flavorful finish. Shows focus and finesse with serious structure for the vintage. It grows slowly on the palate. Really beautiful. Drink after 2022.

98+ Punkt vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni im März 2020:

The 2017 Troplong Mondot is stunning. just as it was en primeur. Rich and ample. yet endowed with striking energy as well. the 2017 is the first vintage made by new CEO Aymeric de Gironde and consulting winemaker Thomas Duclos. The 2017 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. All of the power that is typical of this site is evident. it seems to come so naturally. and yet picking earlier and then using a lighter hand in the cellar yielded a Troplong of uncommon energy and vibrancy. The 2017 has been nothing short of thrilling on the four occasions I have tasted it from bottle so far. What a wine!

95 Punkte vergibt Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Troplong Mondot 2017 Saint EmilionThe 2017 Chateau Troplong Mondot continues in the new style of this estate and is based on 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Cabernet Franc from healthy yields of 48 hectoliters per hectare. Its deep ruby/purple hue is followed by a stunning perfume of creme de cassis, black raspberries, white chocolate, crushed flowers, and a terrific sense of minerality. Flawlessly balanced, medium to full-bodied, and nicely concentrated, it shows the more elegant, classical style of the vintage beautifully. It has the texture and balance to drink brilliantly today yet will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for two decades or more.

Some smoky. graphite and gunflint notes here with tobacco and light beef bouillon. as well as red plums and dark cherries. The palate has a very smooth and plush bed of ripe tannin. carrying rich red-plum flavors. amid a chalky. layered tannin bed. Drink or hold.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Fonplegade 2017 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni im März 2020:

The 2017 Fonplégade is classy. polished and simply impeccable in its balance. The Fonplégade is not a huge wine. but it has really gained in finesse over the course of its aging. Sweet red cherry. pomegranate. blood orange. mint and cinnamon add character to this racy. silky. exceptionally polished Saint-Émilion. Floral overtones add brightness to the finish.

Extremely perfumed with blackcurrants. flowers. gunmetal. gunpowder and blackberries. Full-bodied. tight and reserved. The tannins are so tightly knit and just run through the center. Needs at least three or four years to open. A blend of 77% merlot and 23% cabernet franc. Better after 2023.

97 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Canon 2017 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni im März 2020:

Nicolas Audebert and his team have done it again. The 2017 Canon is shaping up to be one of the wines of the vintage. Rich and vertical in construction. the 2017 possesses off-the-charts richness and intensity in all of its dimensions. In the glass. the 2017 is sumptuous and layered. with superb detail and tons of sheer pedigree. In 20 years. readers will have a fabulous time tasting the 2015. 2016. 2017 and 2018 together and debating their respective merits. Dark plum fruit. striking Franc aromatics and the clean. focused energy of Saint-Émilion's limestone plateau make for a ravishing. exquisite wine of the highest level. In a word: breathtaking.

96+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Canon 2017 Saint EmilionLisa Perrotti Brown im März 2020:

Deep garnet-purple in color. the 2017 Canon bursts from the glass with expressive notions of baked black cherries. kirsch. plum preserves and black raspberries plus hints of red roses. Ceylon tea. black olives and fertile loam. Medium-bodied. the palate is wonderfully elegant and refined. with a soft. finely grained texture and seamless freshness. finishing long and mineral laced. The blend is 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc and it was aged for 18 months in French oak. 50% new.

97 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Canon 2017 Saint EmilionShowing spectacularly, the 2017 Chateau Canon checks in as a final blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc that’s from one of the most exceptional terroirs in the appellation. Hitting 14% alcohol (the pH is 3.66), it reveals a ruby/purple hue as well as gorgeously sweet raspberries and cassis-like fruit interwoven with notes of spring flowers, rose petal, white chocolate, and spice. While it doesn’t have the massive opulence of the 2015 and 2016, it’s more classically styled as well flawlessly balanced, with a terrific sense of minerality, ultra-fine tannins, and a brilliant finish. Give bottles 5-7 years in the cellar, and it will evolve gracefully for 30-40 years. Hats off to Nicolas Audebert as well as the team of Thomas Duclos for one of the wines of the vintage!

This has a very attractive. ripe black-fruit nose with toasted spices. violets and dark-stone notes. Iodine and cedar. too. The palate is powerful and has quite intense flavors of blackberries and blueberries with a super rich and ripe frame of tannin that carries long and expands the finish in impressive style. The 2017 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse is powerful and backward. with huge tannins wrapped around a core of black cherry. smoke. charcoal. licorice. blackberry jam and graphite. Exotic and rich in the glass. the 2017 needs time to soften. but it is immensely promising. not to mention utterly captivating. Tasted three times.

95 Sucklingpunkte für denJames Suckling im Juli 2020 zum Frescobaldi Castello Nippozano Mormoreto 2017:

A big, rich red with blackberry, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s full and layered. Just a baby. Reflects the ripeness of the vintage, yet shows energy. Better after 2022.

Le Potazzine always delivers a smooth and silky style with extreme elegance and the lifted cool-climate fruit that you get from this high-altitude growing site. The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino is taut and firm with cherry fruit, dried raspberry, tilled earth, spice and blue flower. The wine sees an extended fermentation of 40 days and ages in botte grande for 42 months. This is a well-balanced wine that is slightly thinner, with one notch lower intensity in this vintage compared to past editions. You get a light, sharp and streamlined style. I prefer the 2015 vintage slightly to this wine, but I'm suggesting a longer drinking window here. This is an 18.000-bottle release that hits the market in January 2021.

95 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denEric Guido bewertet den Tenuta Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2015 im Novemberr 2020 so:

The remarkably pretty 2016 Brunello di Montalcino shows a pure bouquet full of wild strawberries, woodland berries and herbs with a hint of crushed stone. It’s soft and enveloping, displaying fleshy red fruits, savory spice and salty minerals, while vibrant acids maintain wonderful freshness. It’s only at the very end that its youthful structure comes forward, grippy and classically drying, yet under an air of red licorice and inner rose. There’s a beautiful harmony to this vintage of Le Potazzine, which should provide a long and wide drinking window.

94 Sucklingpunkte für denUnd James Suckling notiert im November 2020:

This is a cooler style of Brunello with blueberries, black cherries, crushed stones and lavender. It’s full-bodied with firm, tight tannins. Yet, it opens at the end to pinpointed fruit and tannins. Give this time to soften. Try after 2024.

95 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den"Score: 95" lässt der Wine Spectator im Juni 2021 vernehmen, und weiter:

Black cherry, black currant and plum flavors are front and center in this supple red, with accents of earth, iron, leather and tobacco chiming in as the tannins flex their muscles on the long finish. Everything is there, this just needs to integrate. Best from 2025 through 2048. 1.500 cases made, 500 cases imported.
