Located near La Lagune and Cantemerle, this estate is now certified organic. The 2022 Paloumey is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. It has expressive aromas of tobacco leaf, cherries, plum and graphite. It’s medium-bodied, supple and juicy, but there is also alluring freshness and elegant tannins, although the finish is a touch austere.

Ripe and fresh but more of a cool wet stone saltiness than an overtly juicy and lifted style. Feels a little strict and tense and compact right now, not being so expressive but the tannins are well worked, nicely filling with some powdery softeners and gentle liquorice and crushed stone aspects on the finish. Stops a little short. HVE certified. 1% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. 3.66pH. Harvest: Merlot 13 - 22 September, Petit Verdot 17 September, Cabernet Franc 20 September, Cabernet Sauvignon 21 September - 7 October.
