Chateau Lagrange - Pomerol

Chateau Lagrange - Pomerol

This property, situated on the northern border of the plateau of Pomerol close to many illustrious neighbors, was purchased by the Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953 from Monsieur Pecresse, also owner of Château Trotanoy. The vineyard is planted on heavy clay soils, allowing the Merlot grapes their best expression. The vineyard work is meticulous, with a hand-harvest completed in a few hours once the grapes are perfectly ripe. The wine is vinified in thermo-regulated concrete tanks, before being aged in oak barrels. Supple, round, generous and fruit-driven, Château Lagrange is a delightful expression of the lighter style of Pomerol wines, approachable in its youth.

92 Suckling Punkte für den Chateau Lagrange 2019 PomerolJames Suckling über den Chateau Lagrange 2019 Pomerol:

13 Jan, 2022 – Pretty and floral with ash and dried earth. Medium-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh, fine-textured finish. Try after 2025.

89 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Antonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Lagrange 2019 Pomerol:

The 2019 Lagrange (Pomerol) is a pleasant, easygoing Pomerol to drink now and over the next handful of years. An initial burst of sweet red-toned fruit is promising, but the 2019 is a bit lacking in the mid-palate, and that seems to allow the oak to stick out. Lagrange is certainly a pleasant wine, but its charms are best enjoyed on the young side.

92 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Und Neal Martin (Vinous) beschreibt den Chateau Lagrange 2019 Pomerol:

I’ve criticized many previous vintages of this Pomerol, but the 2019 Lagrange gives notice of improvements afoot. Now in bottle, it has a very pleasant and quite concentrated bouquet of black cherries, raspberry coulis and light truffle scents laced with blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a velvety entry and a ripe, slightly confit, spicy finish. A surprisingly plush and well-defined Lagrange that has lived up to its promise and is well worth checking out. A harbinger of things to come?

93 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Chateau Lagrange 2019 PomerolDer Chateau Lagrange 2019 Pomerol am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung.

Opaque purple-black colored, the 2020 Lagrange (Pomerol) slides effortlessly out of the glass with upfront notes of baked black plums, boysenberries and spiced blackberries, plus nuances of bouquet garni, forest floor and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with soft-textured, juicy black fruits and lovely spicy accents, delivering just enough freshness to lift the long, savory finish.

95-96 Suckling-Punkte für den Chateau Lagrange 2020
James Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Lagrange 2020 Pomerol Folgendes:

Absolutely beautiful with blackberry, walnut, crushed-stone and lavender character. It’s full-bodied and very layered with ultra fine tannins and an extremely long finish. Really well done for the vintage. Best in a long time.

Vom Falstaff-Magazin mit 93-95 Punkten bewertet

Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Ockerrandaufhellung.
