Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2020 Prieure-Lichine offers up notes of fresh redcurrants, blackcurrant pastilles, boysenberries and dried Provence herbs, plus wafts of tobacco leaf and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers a great intensity of pure black and red fruit flavors, framed by grainy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long with a refreshing herbal lift.

Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis and minty blackberries mingled with violets and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless, with a deep core of vibrant fruit, beautifully refined tannins and a harmonious, integrated profile that exudes elegance. A wine of immense character and refinement, it's the best vintage from this estate in recent times.

Revealing a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a great bouquet of blackcurrants, black cherries, lead pencil, sandalwood, smoked tobacco, and hints of incense, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish. It offers pleasure today (although it closes down with extended air) but deserves 5-7 years of bottle age and will evolve for 30 years or more. This is clearly in the same league as the 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Tasted on multiple occasions with consistent results.

Pulling from 51.04 hectares of vines and a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec, it's a selection of just 45% of the total production and spent 18 months in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak. Beautiful, spiced-laced red and black fruits, chocolate, smoked tobacco, and incense notes define the aromatics. These carry to a medium to full-bodied restrained, elegant 2020 with terrific mid-palate density, ripe, velvety tannins, and terrific overall balance. This is one of those beautiful, classic wines that grows on you with time in the glass, and hats off to Emmanuel Cruse for yet another incredible wine. It's going to evolve for another 25-30 years if well-stored.

Der Baron de Brane 2020 ist ein opulenter, überschwänglicher Wein. Dunkle rote/purpurfarbene Frucht, Mokka, Schokolade, Lavendel, Gewürze und neues Leder sind alle wunderbar präzise. Feine Tannine, aufsteigende Aromen und saftige Frucht sind alle sehr gut ausbalanciert. Der 2020 ist ziemlich auffällig, behält aber auch eine gute Portion Energie bei, mit blumigen Noten, die das Finish schön abrunden. Es ist ein wunderschöner Zweitwein von Henri Lurton und Brane-Cantenac.

Attraktive Aromen von dunklen und blauen Früchten, etwas Veilchen, Walnuss und Graphit. Mittelkräftiger Körper mit feinmaschigen Tanninen und einem delikaten, lebendigen blauen Fruchtcharakter. Kreidiges Finish. Probieren Sie ihn nach 2024.
