93 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Certan de May 2020 PomerolJames Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:
This has some lovely fruit -- and with good definition, too (not easy in this vintage) -- with plum, cassis and blackberry notes that sail through prettily, laced with black tea, incense and anise. Ends with a subtle smoldering alder accent. A lovely wine that avoids the vintage's pratfalls. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2025 through 2036. 1,550 cases made, 75 cases imported. –JM

92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Certan de May 2020 Pomerol Den Chateau Certan de May 2020 Pomerol beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
Offering up aromas of sweet berries and plums mingled with notions of aniseed, licorice and mint, the 2020 Certan de May is medium to full-bodied, broad and layered, with a rich and enveloping core of ripe, somewhat baked fruit. This is a solid effort, but it can't quite match the 2019.

97 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Certan de May 2020 Pomerol Den Chateau Certan de May 2020 Pomerol beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
Lots of violets and flowers with hints of smoke and spice. Then dried flowers. Full and broad with tannins that flow across the palate. Chiselled. The real deal here for Pomerol. 65% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Give this four to five years.

A classic, complex, old-school beauty that will be loved by the traditionalists out there, the 2020 Château Certan De May offers up a flowery, savory bouquet of red and black fruits, saddle leather, savory herbs, and incense. With medium-bodied richness, a good core of sweet fruit, fine tannins, and a great finish, give bottles just a few years and enjoy over the coming 10-15.

The 2020 Hosanna is rich and sun-kissed in style, offering up aromas of berry liqueur, figs, licorice, aniseed and vine smoke, followed by a full-bodied, ripe and gourmand palate with a generous core of confit fruit, polished tannins and a suave, enveloping profile. This ripe, unctuous red wouldn't be out of place in a tasting of contemporary Napa Valley Cabernets.

99 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Hosanna 2020 PomerolDen Chateau Hosanna 2020 Pomerol beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
So aromatic and fresh with black olives, black truffles, gravel and dried flowers. Milk chocolate. Ovaltine. Full-bodied with fantastic old-vine tannins. Layered and very structured. Goes deep and down. One for the cellar. Superb. Maybe the best ever. 80% merlot and the rest cabernet franc. Needs ten years here.

98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Hosanna 2020 Pomerol Den Chateau Hosanna 2020 Pomerol beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
A big, explosive beast of a wine, the 2020 Château Hosanna comes from a small 11-acre vineyard of gravelly, clay soils and it's 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Decadent red and black fruits, smoked tobacco, loamy earth, chocolate, and some meaty, iron-like nuances all emerge on the nose, and this round, full-bodied, expansive Pomerol has a great mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a blockbuster of a finish. It's one of the more opulent, overtly sexy wines of the vintage, and this beauty is going to offer incredible pleasure over the coming 25-30 years.

James Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:
Well-formed, with a solid core of cassis, plum reduction and blackberry compote notes that stretch out slowly, supported by wood spice, dried anise and apple wood accents along the way. A late tug of warm earth and sweet tobacco adds depth and length. Captures the exotic edge of the vintage without losing focus -- no easy feat. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2026 through 2038. 1,200 cases made, 85 cases imported. –JM

In the 2019 vintage, this estate was a highlight of the Mouiex portfolio, and the 2020 Latour à Pomerol is a terrific follow-up. Bursting with aromas of cherries, dark berries, licorice, black truffle and petroleum jelly, it's medium to full-bodied, with a broad attack that segues into a rich core of fruit that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins.

Den Chateau Latour a Pomerol 2020 Pomerol beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
The black olives and dark fruit come through on the nose with violets and wet earth. Full and very chunky and powerful. Yet it’s lively and vivid with excellent energy. Fantastic. Pure merlot. Leave it until 2030.

The 2020 Château Latour A Pomerol showed brilliantly, with a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, yet incredibly elegant profile that's already impossible to resist. It's another stunning wine from the team at Moueix.

A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 Vieux Château Certan bursts with aromas of blackberries, sweet spices, rose petals, orange zest, burning embers and violets framed by a deft application of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's rich and layered, with a more broad, unctuous profile than the pure and refined 2019, concluding with a long, resonant finish. This is more immediate out of the gates than the 2019, and I suspect it will not prove quite as long lived, but it is a terrific effort from the Thienpont family.

Real Pomerol here with black berry, chocolate, hazelnut and walnut aromas and flavors. Dark fruits. Crushed stone. It’s full and intense with great focus. Powerful yet so balanced and intense. Juicy center palate. Fantastic length. Great clarity. Drink after 2028.

Moving to the Grand Vin, the 2020 Vieux Château Certan is another legendary wine from this vintage, ranking with the best Bordeaux ever produced. Based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc that spent 18 months in 65% new French oak, it has a deep, powerful, full-bodied style as well as incredible purity and precision in its darker cassis, graphite, gravelly earth, and tobacco-driven aromatics. With perfectly integrated oak, again, incredible purity, and perfect, ultra-fine tannins, it deserves 8-10 years of bottle age and will be a 40- to 50-year wine.

93 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Bourgneuf 2020 Pomerol Den Chateau Bourgneuf 2020 Pomerol beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Coming from a mix of gravel and clay soils and based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 Château Bourgneuf has closed down considerably since I tasted it out of barrel. It offers a firmer, more focused, structured style that needs lots of air to show at its best. Ripe black fruits, spicy oak, graphite, and smoked tobacco define the bouquet, and it's tight and backward on the palate, with good extract and length. Hide bottles for 4-5 years, at which point it will evolve nicely for 15 years. Tasted twice.

A ripe but understated style, with alluring notes of black tea and cedar shavings infusing a core of gently mulled black cherry and plum fruit. The sneaky long finish is silky and refined. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2036. 8,500 cases made, 3,000 cases imported. –JM

100 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Trotanoy 2020 Pomerol100/100 Jeb Dunnuck 30/03/2023
Reminding me slightly of the 1998, the dense ruby/purple-hued 2020 Château Trotanoy offers a classic, concentrated, structured, regal style that this terroir seems to deliver with ease. Giving up a layered, primordial bouquet of smoked tobacco, black cherries, iron, graphite, and gravelly earth, it hits the palate with a massive array of fruit and tannins that somehow stays flawlessly balanced, offering ripe, silky, yet building tannins, flawless balance, and a gorgeous finish. It's going to need a decade of bottle age to hit the early stages of maturity, but this is pure Pomerol brilliance. Is there a better performing Château on the Right Bank today? Not in my opinion.

Die Bewertung für den Chateau Trotanoy 2020 Pomerol vom Wine Cellar Insider lautet wie folgt.100/100 The Wine Cellar Insider Jeff Leve 22/03/2023
As good as this was from barrel, it is even better in the bottle! The array of black and dark red fruits, with nuances of flowers, chocolate, licorice, wet earth and spice in the perfume lets you know you are in for something special. This wine is what hedonism is all about. Sensuous, silky, polished, fresh and opulent, texturally, this is off the charts. The wine tastes and feels like the fruits were drenched in velvet, infused with dark chocolate and then polished, making this effortless to drink. The seamless finish hits the 60 second mark. Clearly, this is a legend in the making. If you are a fan of Trotanoy and you have the extra income, run, do not walk and grab some, as not much was made and it is only going to become more expensive from here. Drink from 2025-2060.

98 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotanoy 2020 PomerolVinous Antonio Galloni 24/02/2023 The 2020 Trotanoy is tremendous. Even better, it might not take forever to come around! Vertical in build, with tons of explosive energy, Trotanoy offers a beguiling mix of black cherry, plum, licorice, incense, dried herbs, menthol and graphite. There is a ton of energy and structure, along with the signature Trotanoy tannins, but all the elements are so well-balanced.

98 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Trotanoy 2020 Pomerol98/100 Vinous Neal Martin 15/02/2023 The 2020 Trotanoy, one of the vintage's most promising wines from barrel, has retained that backward yet compelling bouquet with black fruit, mulberry and touches of potpourri. Underlying this is a dazzling sense of mineralité that probably has no equal on the Right Bank. The palate is surfeited with tension and poise. Stunning delineation, one of the few genuinely pixelated Pomerols in this vintage. A very nuanced pepperiness emerges towards its extremely persistent finish. What a stunning Trotanoy.
96 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Trotanoy 2020 PomerolJames Molsworth beschreibt ihn im Januar 2023 wie folgt:

Delivers a beam of alluring and lush mulberry, raspberry and black currant puree flavors while maintaining form and focus, with an underpinning of warm paving stone and humus for spine as well as focusing tobacco and alder accents along the edges. Clearly marked by the vintage, but with density and definition that differentiate this from the pack. Best from 2026 through 2040. 1,600 cases made, 163 cases imported. –JM

One of the wines of the vintage is the 2020 La Conseillante, a blend of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc that wafts from the glass with inviting aromas of raspberries, red cherries and mulberries mingled with exotic spices, violets and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and vibrant, it's a beautifully elegant, sensual wine with a deep core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with a long, extravagantly floral finish. Unquestionably in the same league as the 2019, this beauty offers an incredible bouquet of pure blue fruits, cassis, violets, spring flowers, and truffle. This carries to a full-bodied, seamless, incredibly elegant, layered Pomerol offering perfect tannins, the vibrant, focused, structured style of the vintage, impeccable balance, and a gorgeous finish. As always, this wine is more about purity, finesse, and elegance than power. It offers pleasure even today yet should be given a decade in the cellar, and it will be a 40- to 50-year wine.

Lots of black raspberry, mulberry, and black cherry fruits as well as cedar and floral notes emerge from the 2019 Château Bourgneuf, a medium to full-bodied, wonderfully pure, balanced Pomerol. I love its tannins, and it shows the pure, balanced style of 2019 in Pomerol perfectly. It will benefit from just 2-3 years of bottle age and drink brilliantly for 15-20 years. The 2019 Lafleur-Gazin has become more refined and focused on the nose of ample black cherry, raspberry and plummy fruit, touches of pressed violets and rose petals percolating through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fresh acidity, a slightly lactic texture and veins of dark chocolate complementing the finish. This will need time in bottle, but it should end up a fine Pomerol.
