Beschreibung
Dieser Riserva Brunello di Montalcino von Altesino ist, wie es für Brunello üblich ist um "Riserva" genannt zu werden, 6 Jahre im Weinkeller gereift. Der Wein wird nur in sehr guten Jahren gemacht und hat entsprechend auch nur eine sehr kleine Stückzahl. Sehr gehaltvoll und reich an verschiedensten Aromen bleibt er sehr lange amn Gaumen und  zeigt sich als sehr kraftvoller Wein, der noch viele Jahre Reifepotential mitbringt!

The Altesino 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva holds tight to its unique character and power. The classic 2016 vintage produced generous wines that are layered and rich but also coiled tightly                                 at their core. This wine exemplifies this point, adding lots of tart Sangiovese fruit and freshness along the way. It also shows an impressive richness of flavors with dried cherry, licorice, pressed                                    violets, balsam herb and dusty limestone. The caveat with this wine, should you decide to drink it early, is that it needs extra time to open (and a double decanting would also help). This 10,000 bottle production opens beautifully in time.

The wine is lean on the palate, with more primary fruit flavors and fresh acidity to make for a neat and snappy close. Production is an ample 50.000 bottles.

Der Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2018 hat eine brillante rubinrote Farbe, die mit zunehmendem Alter zu Granatrot tendiert. In der Nase zeigt er intensive, saubere, angenehme und raffinierte Aromen, die mit Noten von Veilchen, Tabak, Schokolade und angenehmen Anklängen von Unterholz und Vanille beginnen. Am Gaumen hat eine ausgezeichnete Korrespondenz mit der Nase, einen vollen Körper, herrliche Tannine und eine überzeugende Textur. Übrigens: Der Brunello di Montalcino war der erste Wein, der die DOCG-Anerkennung erhielt.

Like other wines from this vintage, the 2018s are more accessible than, say, the 2016s or the 2013s. You can drink the wine soon or choose to cellar it a bit longer. The young tannins are nearly fully approachable, and the wine ends with dryness and ample freshness. This is a generous production of 120,000 bottles.

The word "Vigna" has been added to the official name of this wine to underline work in the appellation meant to focus on single-vineyard designates. The Altesino 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli comes from a unique growing site with some of the best exposures from hillside vineyards. This wine shows a slightly dark hue with added concentration and depth. I am delighted by the bouquet that reveals dark cherry, blue flower, crushed stone and grilled herb. There is sweet toast and spice at the back. This is one of the more complete and age-worthy wines from the 2018 vintage. However, my biggest hesitation is the very high 15% alcohol content of this 13,000-bottle release.

The 2016 takes all the components of the estate Brunello and is amplified with concentrated raspberry coulis, sage, and rose petal. Once again, there is tremendous consistency from the nose to the palate, though here the structure is compact and will need additional time for those who shy away from grippy, building tannins. Drink over the next 20 years or more. Drink 2024-2042.

Rote Kirschen, Pflaumen und Veilchen, begleitet von Kräutern und balsamischen Aromen

Die Weinlese findet im Allgemeinen früher statt als im Durchschnitt der Region, um einen ausreichenden Säuregehalt zu erhalten, der die Eleganz und Vertikalität des Weins fördert und die Langlebigkeit unterstützt. Um eine ideale Struktur und ein ideales Volumen zu erreichen, werden nur kleine bis mittelgroße Trauben verwendet. Sie werden von Hand verlesen, in weniger als einer halben Stunde entrappt und durch Schwerkraft in Edelstahl- und Zementgärbehälter gefüllt. Die Gärung erfolgt ausschließlich mit einheimischen Hefen, so dass der Wein seine ursprünglichen Aroma- und Geschmackseigenschaften beibehält. Die Maischegärung dauert etwa 20 Tage und ist durch wiederholtes Umpumpen und Abfüllen gekennzeichnet, um die Polyphenole zu extrahieren. Die Reifung erfolgt ausschließlich in großen 30-Hektoliter-Fässern aus slawonischer Eiche über einen Zeitraum von etwa 3 Jahren, damit der Wein atmen kann, ohne übermäßig vom Holz beeinflusst zu werden, und seine natürliche Entwicklung respektiert wird. Der Wein wird in Flaschen abgefüllt und etwa ein Jahr lang in Räumen gelagert, die von Natur aus für die Reifung geeignet sind, bevor er auf den Markt kommt. Unser Ziel ist es, jedes Jahr einen Wein zu erzeugen, der die Eleganz des Sangiovese mit der typischen Struktur des Brunello verbindet, um die Essenz von Le Chiuse auszudrücken.

2018 - ein interessanter Jahrgang, gekennzeichnet durch einen warmen Sommer mit einigen guten Regenfällen im August. Ein frischer und unbeständiger September beeinflusst definitiv den Jahrgang und verleiht dem Wein eine große Finesse und eine gute Trinkbarkeit.

Expressive and beautifully pure, the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino offers a gorgeous, sweet perfume of perfectly ripe raspberry eau de vie, crushed roses, delicate baking spice, and well-integrated cedar spice. It is medium-bodied, though it is generous and round with fruit in a long arch, fine tannins, and a soft, stony, mineral texture. Polished with more ripe raspberry, oolong tea, and fresh thyme, it is approachable now but will certainly improve over the next 15-20 years.

Released in numbered bottles, the Le Chiuse 2018 Brunello di Montalcino (a certified organic wine with fruit sourced from across six hectares) shows punchy and bright aromas that recall dried grape skins or fermentation aromas. It suggests an open or immediate personality. There is a pleasant rawness or authenticity presented here with black cherry, plum, blue flower, cola and rusty nail. This is a true expression from a warm vintage that delivers mid-weight texture and well-managed tannins. It concludes with a hint of sweet cherry liqueur. I tasted number 192 of 18,300 bottles produced.
