Neben den Weinen des Chateau Tour Saint Christophe, gehören auch noch die Weingüter Bellefont Belcier und Haut Brisson aus Saint Emilion zu den Vignoble K., hat die Bordeaux Die Weine von Peter Kwok, einem vermögendem Geschäftsmann aus Hong Kong, sind wirklich etwas ganz besonderes. Das Team der Vignoble K, welches sich um sämtliche Weingüter von Peter Kwok kümmert ist hochklassig besetzt. Mit Michel Rolland haben sie einen der bedeutendsten Berater an ihrer Seite. Jerome Anguirre konnte zunächst in Australien und im Team um Petrus und Trotanoy Erfahrungen sammeln bis er dann im Chateau Le Gay 2010 (99 Punkte) und La Violette 2010 (100 Punkte) seine bisherigen Meisterstücke ablieferte. 2012 übernahm er schließlich die Verantwortung in den Weingütern von Peter Kwok, der kongeniale Partner in alles Weingütern ist Jean Christophe Meyrou.

Das Chateau Tour Saint Christophe ist mit grossen Investitionen neu gestaltet und auch die Weingärten sind in terrassenform angelegt worden, dies kennt man aus anderen Weinbauregionen der Welt aber im Saint Emilion oder gar im Bordeaux ist es eher ein Novum. Wir freuen uns sehr diese Weingüter schon im grossartigen 2015er Jahrgang in unser Sortiment aufgenommen zu haben, denn heute werden diese Weine bereits per Allokation zugeteilt. Seien auch Sie dabei und legen Sie sich ein paar Flaschen Chateau Tour Saint Christophe und / oder Haut Brisson sowie Bellefont Belcier in den Keller. Unter uns gesagt, die Preise sind zu vergleichbaren Qualitäten im Saint Emilion zu günstig, aber wenn Sie es nicht weiterverraten, wird es hoffentlich noch eine Weile so bleiben.

TThis estate has been delivering the goods for numerous vintages now, and the 2019 Château Tour Saint Christophe is another terrific wine. Ripe black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, new leather, and chalky minerality all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a tight, straight, focused texture, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. It doesn't have the mid-palate density or opulence of the 2018, but it’s more pretty, focused, and straight on the palate. Give bottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe builds on the promise it showed from barrel. This sample was actually tasted at my home, where I afforded it a two-hour decant. It revealed precocious yet controlled blackberry and blueberry fruit scents, with that violet component still intact. The tannins have not lost any of their grippiness or assertiveness. This is a Saint-Émilion that is in for the long haul. Great potential.

Der Kern ist dicht und undurchsichtig, nur eine minimale Aufhellung zum Rand hin. Die Nase bietet eine Fülle dunklen schwarzen Beeren, süsse Kirschnuancen, eine frische kühlende Nuance. Sehr behutsames Toasting, man hat wohl aus dem 2015er seine Schlüsse gezogen und geht etwas behutsamer mit dem Neuholzanteil um. Im Mund totale Balance bei maximalem aromatischen Druck. Perfekt polierte Tannine, lang, frisch, kühl, druckvoll und nochmal lang! Einfach ein genialer Weinwert, dessen Winemaker-Team den Jahrgang perfekt interpretiert hat. 93-95 Punkte.

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged for around 18 months in oak barrels, 40% new, the 2018 Tour Saint Christophe weighs in at 14.6% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes barreling out of the glass with bold notions of baked black cherries, plum preserves and blueberry pie plus underlying suggestions of Christmas cake, Chinese five spice and dusty soil. The full-bodied palate packs in the black and blue fruit preserves layers, framed by velvety tannins and lively acidity, finishing long and spicy.

Silky and exceptionally polished, the 2018 oozes class. Moreover, the heavy extraction and strong torrefaction notes that marked previous vintages of the recent past have been replaced by beautifully precise, vibrant fruit. Tour Saint Christophe is one of best values in Saint-Émilion. I haven't always loved Tour Saint Christoph, but I love the 2018. It's a fabulous effort from Technical Director Jérôme Aguirre and his team. Don't miss it.

Die Nase ist in diesem Jahr wieder eine Nuance feiner, noch weniger Schwarzfruchtig, aber im Kern steht eine schwarze süsse Kirsche, begleitet von guter Würze die vom Cabernet Franc kommen wird, eine Kühle begleitet das Nasenbild und macht den Wein tiefgründig und sehr interessant. Man kann den Kalkstein riechen der dem Wein in diesem Jahrgang seinen Character gibt. Im Mund ist der Wein dann wie gewohnt mit tollem Extrakt, einer sehnig - fleischigen Art. Sein Tannin ist wunderbar tragend im langen Mundgefühl. Im Nachgeschmack trumpft dann wieder der Cab. Franc auf, einfach faszinierend diese kühle zart würzige Art. Das wird sehr gut reifen, wobei ich glaube, dass es auch viele Fans für den frühen Genuss geben wird.

The 2020 Château Tour Saint Christophe showed spectacularly well, and based off past vintages, this shouldn't surprise anyone. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc raised in 40% new barrels (the balance is in second- and third-fill oak), it offers a full-bodied, incredibly pure, balanced style revealing subtle oak, terrific darker, almost blue fruits, lots of chocolate, leafy herb and mineral nuances, and gorgeous tannins. It's worth pointing out that this will be the last vintage made by the talented Jérôme Aguirre. This terrific Saint-Emilion will evolve for two decades.
