The 2017 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Spätlese is fine and flinty on the highly elegant and beautifully slatey nose with its discreet and refined flinty aromas. Salty-piquant and fresh on the palate, this Spätlese has a lot of elegance, charm and finesse and is quite creamy textured on the finish. This is a crystalline Riesling, and its finish is crunchy, fresh and piquant, with a creamy texture and good tension but also a frisky and serious character. You can enjoy the wine today, but cellaring makes much more sense for now. Tasted in March 2019.

The 2019 Bernkasteler Badstube Spätlese opens with a clear and elegant tropical-scented bouquet of mangos, passion fruit and figs along with delicately flinty slate aromas. Round and crystalline on the palate, this is a juicy, salty-piquant and grippy Spätlese with a long, intense, well-structured finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

This Spätlese is so pristine, the white peach and white currant so enticing. At once very succulent and very fresh, this leaps and bounds over the palate, the finish long and graceful. Where is the parma ham and the fresh spring vegetables? Drink or hold.

The 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett offers a clear and delicate bouquet of very fine slate and bright, perfectly ripe fruit aromas. Round and piquant on the palate, this is another filigreed and crystalline Kabinett with an intense, compactand very promising finish. The sweetness is delicate and well-countered by the mineral grip and salinity. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
