Chateau Beaumont

Die Weinberge von Beaumont entstanden im Jahr 1824. Das aktuelle Schloss, ein Schmuckstück im reinsten Mansart- Stil, wurde 1854 gebaut. Ungewöhnliche Zufälle haben die unerwartetsten
Personen hierher geführt: einen bretonischen Aristokraten, einen Minister aus Honduras, einen Industrieunternehmer aus Paris, einen Oberstleutnant aus Caracas, einen Senator aus Venezuela usw.
Zwölf verschiedene Eigentümer, die dafür sorgten, dass der Wein von Beaumont in allen Winkeln der Welt serviert wurde.
Heute ist das Chateau Beaumont im Besitz von Grands Millesimes de France und produziert einen rassigen, dichten und harmonischen Wein, der sich durch seine schöne Farbe, viel Finesse und ein zartes Bukett und
eine seidige Struktur auszeichnet. Chateau Beaumont verfolgt seit mehreren Jahren einen naturnahen Ansatz im Weinbau uns besitzt seit 2004 eine Konfirmitätsbescheinigung von Terra Vitis, einer Winzervereinigung für nachhaltigen Weinbau, sowie die Qualifikation für integrierte Landwirtschaft.

The 2019 Beaumont has turned out very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, pencil shavings and loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and melting tannins, it's charming and nicely balanced. It's the finest wine from this large château that I can remember tasting.

This is full and plush for an Haut-Medoc with medium to full body. Lots of blackberries and fresh herbs with redcurrants, too. Chewy, but polished. Give it two or three years to soften. Best after 2024.

The 2019 Beaumont, cropped at 50hL/ha, has a lovely, delineated bouquet of blackberry, briary and light tobacco notes. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and not quite as supple as before, though I appreciate the tangy seaweed note toward the finish. Just what you want from a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.

Tasted on two separate occasions, the 2022 Château Beaumont is a beautiful Haut-Médoc based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot mostly from sandy soils. Given the challenging conditions of the vintage, it would be easy to assume this would be a subpar release (the vintage was particularly challenging for sandy soils), but you'd be mistaken. This offers impressive purity in its red, blue, and black fruits as well as notes of chocolate and scorched earth. With medium body, present yet ripe tannins, and outstanding length, it's going to drink well immediately on release and evolve for 10-12 years or more.
