Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery

Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery

16 Jan, 2022 – Sweet currant and berry aromas with hints of blackcurrants, black cherries and flowers. It’s full-bodied and layered with beautifully polished tannins that last for minutes. Tight and very focused. This needs at least six or seven years to open. Try after 2027.

The 2019 Malescot St. Exupéry is quite possibly the most elegant wine I have tasted here. Plush and radiant, the 2019 possesses notable depth with plenty of supporting structure beneath surprisingly tamed tannins. Gravel, dark red cherry/plum, spice, leather and dried flowers build over time. The 2019 is a magical wine endowed with tremendous character. Don't miss it.

96 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 MargauxUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2019 Margaux:
The 2019 Malescot Saint Exupéry has a well-defined bouquet, although it does not quite possess the intensity that it showed from barrel. Touches of licorice and allspice gently unfold with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, and lightly spiced with white pepper and clove toward the detailed, persistent finish. This is a serious Margaux that deserves time in bottle.

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart blättrig unterlegte schwarze Waldbeeren, Lakritze, Orangenzesten, kandierte Mandarinenschalen.

The 2016 Malescot Saint Exupéry is fabulous. Powerful and explosive on the palate. the 2016 offers serious intensity. but it also appears to be holding back quite a bit of its potential. Moreover. what impresses me most is that in 2016. intensity is delivered more with finesse than with the brutish power that is such a signature of Malescot. Deep and resonant. but also remarkably polished. the 2016 Malescot is a winner. Hints of iron. smoke. cedar. tobacco and scorched earth add nuance. but it is the wine's sense of poise that is most remarkable. I loved it. Tasted three times.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored. the 2016 Malescot St. Exupery sings of cassis. fragrant earth. tobacco and lilacs with a compelling waft of mocha. Medium to full-bodied and strutting loads of expressive fruit layers at this youthful stage. it's framed by ripe. grainy tannins and oodles of freshness. finishing with great length and depth.

94+ Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für denDie Degustationsnotiz von Jeb Dunnuck zum Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2020 Margaux :
Beautiful cassis, smoky oak, graphite, blackberries, and scorched earth notes emerge from the 2020 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry, another incredibly impressive wine from Margaux in the vintage. With medium to full-bodied richness, it has plenty of mid-palate depth, the building, firmer tannins of the vintage, fabulous purity of fruit, and a great finish. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 15-20 years.

97 Sucklingpunkte für denJames Suckling schreibt zum Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2020 Margaux Folgendes:
Lots of blackcurrants and blueberries on the nose, together with walnuts and chocolate. Full-bodied and very layered, with super depth and plushness, offering currant, crushed-stone and bitter-chocolate flavors. Very lush for this wine, but velvety and structured at the same time. Needs four to six years of bottle age. Try after 2027.

A seductive Margaux with an intense nose of black fruit and red plums. Some herb and wood notes, too. It’s full-bodied with pretty, pure-berry flavors with some crushed stones and cement. Lovely, with gently mulled plum, blackberry and black currant fruit sailing through atop a velvety structure while mouthwatering bay, black tea and iron notes flow underneath. 93-95 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2022 Margaux Den Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2022 Margaux beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
Offering up aromas of rich blackberries, cassis, sweet spices, pencil shavings and creamy new oak, the 2022 Malescot St. Exupery is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a broad attack that segues into a layered core of expressive fruit that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, this is one of the appellation's most flamboyant wines, but it retains good balance and boasts a healthy pH of 3.65.

The 2022 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry is gorgeous and certainly a Margaux worth seeking out. Dense purple-hued, with a rich, powerful bouquet of ripe black fruits, melted chocolate, smoked tobacco, and spice, it picks up a beautiful floral character with air, is full-bodied, and has a layered, opulent mouthfeel as well as a great finish. It shows the vintage's building yet velvety tannins and is going to warrant just 4-5 years or more of bottle age, but it's a brilliant wine in the making.

100 Black, blue and red fruits, tobacco leaf, flowers, and coffee bean, with a hint of cocoa create the nose. Lively red and black fruits, with hints of chocolate show in the round, full-bodied, deep wine. The lengthy finish is all about its layers of sweet, ripe, dark red berries, energy and chocolately, espresso in the mid-palate and end notes. The wine is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. 14.5% ABV, 3.65. Harvesting took place September 19 - October 5. Yields were 30 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2050.

Intensely perfumed and fragrant on the nose, supple and succulent, really quite juicy and highly acidic with both a dark blackcurrant and red cherry juiciness, tannins are nicely present, filling but with a great texture and this has a nice overall brightness and vibrancy that some don't have. I really like this, feels elegant and nicely detailed, soft, really not trying too hard. Will be for easier drinking than some but nice. A yield of 30hl/ha. Harvest 19 September - 5 October. Ageing in French oak for 12- 14 months, 70% new.
