Blackberry, hazelnut and tar aromas and flavors follow through to a medium body, with firm and savory tannins that run the length of the wine. Savory finish. Excellent structure.

92-94 Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Fontenil 2022 Fronsac Den Chateau Fontenil 2022 Fronsac beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
The 2022 Château Fontenil is a beauty, and as with the Castillon region, Fronsac has some true gems that compete with the top wines. Black cherries, currants, spicy oak, and graphite all emerge from the glass, and this is full-bodied, with a layered, concentrated texture and ripe tannins. It's going to need 3-5 years of bottle age, but this brilliant 2022 is well worth seeking out.

With an opaque hue, the wine opens with all the black plums, black cherries, chocolate, flowers and licorice you need to start your day. But with the 2022, it is the palate, with its opulent, rich, endless waves of perfectly ripe, mineral-driven fruits that steal the show. The finish, with its layers of velvet-edged, creamy fruits finishes with salty, crushed stone accents, giving you length purity and complexity. Part of the reason the 2022 is so strong is t

Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol
94-95 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol Den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
A firm and juicy red with lots of berries, chocolate, salt and lightly toasted wood. Some smoke. Soft tannins. Flavorful finish.

96-98 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol Den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
I continue to absolutely love the wines from Jeremy Chasseuil’s tiny estate located in the heart of Pomerol. His 2022 Château Feytit-Clinet checks in as 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, pulled from 60% of the production, and it sports a dense purple hue to go with a decadent, powerful, full-bodied style in its darker currants, tobacco, chocolate, and graphite-driven aromas and flavors. The tannins are substantial yet ripe and integrated, and it has a great mid-palate and outstanding length.

98 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol Den Chateau Feytit Clinet 2022 Pomerol beschreibt Fallstaff wie folgt:
Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, dezente Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

Deep, rich, purple in hue, the wine is packed with black plums, flowers, cloves, cinnamon, cherries, apple blossoms, smoke, and licorice in the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine shows off its sensuous, silky wealth of plums, cherries, and chocolate form the initial sip. Concentrated, rich, and creamy, with vibrancy, length and suppleness, this is a gorgeous expression of Feytit-Clinet. The wine blends 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. 14.9% ABV, 3.75 pH. The harvest took place September 5 - September 27. The yields were 33 hectoliters per hectare. This is the finest vintage of Feytit Clinet produced yet. Drink from 2026-2050.

Smooth and seductive with ripe red berry fruit alongside floral touches and liquorice and cola edged tannins. Feels well worked, not too over extracted with detail and a gentle ease to this. Maybe lacks a touch of vibrancy but good power and concentration.

Lusciously-textured, dark-cherries, coffee beans, and licorice already show well in the round, supple, fresh, medium-bodied, plummy wine. This is going to be simply delicious on release. But, if you allow it a year or so for the oak to better integrate, it is going to be an even better wine. Drink from 2025-2037.

Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zarte Edelholzwürze, schwarze Kirschen, ein Hauch von Brombeeren, Orangenzesten. Mittlere Komplexität, rote Kirschen, integrierte Tannine, mineralisch, bleibt gut haften.

91-93+ Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau de La Riviere 2022 Fronsac Den Chateau de La Riviere 2022 Fronsac beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
From a great terroir in Fronsac, the 2022 Château De La Rivière is inky hued and offers up a ripe, powerful bouquet of cassis, black cherries, scorched earth, tobacco, and chocolate, with a terrific sense of minerality. It's rich and full-bodied, with ripe tannins and beautiful purity. This could easily end up being the finest vintage for this château to date.

This is one of the best wines I have had from here. Full-bodied yet focused and super dynamic. Tight and linear with fantastic length and energy at the end. Exciting.

96-99 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2018 Saint EmilionJames Mothels bewertet den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

Dark plum and boysenberry fruit is laced with tobacco and chalk notes, while the fleshy grip slowly builds through the finish. This is seriously long and though the fruit is gorgeous, the minerality steals the show in the end.

95-97 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2018 Saint EmilionLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Clos Fourtet is a little youthfully mute to begin. With coaxing, it opens out to notes of crushed blackberries, warm black plums and wild blueberries plus suggestions of forest floor, lavender. baking spices and potpourri. Full-bodied, the palate has an amazing texture of soft, plush tannins and oodles of freshness supporting the layer upon layer of berries and spices, finishing long and fragrant. Total time in barrel should run 16 months in 60% new and 40% one-year old barriques. The blend is 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc.

One of the wines of the vintage, the 2018 Clos Fourtet is positively stunning. In the glass, the 2018 sizzles with tension and energy. A whole range of floral. mineral and red berry notes develop, but it is the wine's exceptional sense of harmony that leaves the deepest impression. Consulting winemakers Stephane Derenoncourt and Jean-Claude Berrouet turned out a glorious Clos Fourtet in 2018. Don't miss it. The blend is 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times.

94 While the 2022 Château Lynch Bages Blanc had been bottled just prior to my visit, it wasn't showing any worse for wear and has a terrific perfume of honeyed lime, white flowers, citrus, and chalky minerality. Based on 67% Sauvignon, 22% Sémillon, and 11% Muscadelle, it stays fresh, vibrant, medium-bodied, and refreshing on the palate.

Flowers, lemons, white peach, orange rind, white flowers and spice show in the nose and on the bright, citrus, pear and green apple filled palate. This is going to be delicious on release. Peach, apricot, pear and green apple combine with sweet tropical fruit touches lending both a freshness and rich, gourmet aspect to this wine. Succulent and energetic - a nice balance between opulence and liveliness. Still on the serious side but with subtle minerality and enjoyable florality. 3.20pH. Ageing six months, 50% new oak. The first time all the grapes were harvested in August (25-31). 3.2pH. 4.3 g/L total acidity. Aged 6 months in barrels on lees (50% new oak).

91-93 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Les Gravieres 2022 Saint Emilion Den Chateau Les Gravieres 2022 Saint Emilion beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
Tasted on two separate occasions with consistent notes, the 2022 Château Les Gravières is 100% Merlot harvested between September 14th and 17th from healthy yields of 55 hectoliters per hectare. It's a medium to full-bodied, ripe, yet seamless and balanced Saint-Emilion with lots of meaty, smoky red and black fruits, some tobacco, roasted coffee, and spring flower nuances, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautifully made 2022 with lots to love. Due to the unfortunate passing of owner Denis Barraud in 2023, this estate is now being managed by Denis' nephew, Franck Canal-Descude, with consulting advice from Thomas Duclos's Oenoteam.

Deeply colored, the wine reminds me of eating black forest cake with all of its dark chocolate, black cherries, coconut and espresso. Powerful, concentrated, lush and creamy, there is a wealth of perfectly ripe, balanced, opulently-textured fruit on the palate and in the finish. 2022 was the last vintage for the owner, Denis Barraud who passed away shortly after the wine was made. He will be missed. His 2022 will be a tribute to him. Drink from 2025-2042

A delicious and well-constructed wine from the Phélan team in 2022. Polished, balanced and just so drinkable. A gorgeous texture straight away, clean and clear, juicy, vibrant and grippy with a chalky, flint and graphite element to the fine tannins. You really feel they've taken the best the vintage had to offer with precise definition to all the elements; ripe bramble and cherry fruit, high acidity with a wonderful spiced and mineral signature from the St-Estephe terroir. A combination of power and charm that builds in structure and intensity while keeping a mouthwatering energy from start to finish. A top buy - and could be upscored in bottle! Tasted three times. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.8pH. 96IPT. Harvest took 13 days in total, from 14 - 26 September whereas the last three years picking has started on the 24th September. A yield of 28hl/ha. 75% grand vin production. The team have also been working for the past few years on different yeasts for fermentation in order to get more precision and a stronger link to the vineyards. 50% of production in 2022 was vinified using natural yeasts - five strains taken from five plots and used to vinify grapes from each of their respective parcels.
