Oktober 2017:
The 2012 Tinto is a blend of 45% Aragonez. 35% Alicante Bouschet. 10% Touriga Nacional and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. aged for 14 months in a mixture of 50% new French and Portuguese barrels. It comes in at 14% alcohol. This is a fine offering in this mini-vertical. this being the latest in the brand. It will not be released until late in 2018. about a year from now (2019 for the USA). Showing the finesse of the 2007 but without as much fruit or depth. this is still way too young. a wine that may not be ready even on release despite the late release. Its fresh feel leads to a juicy and flavorful finish but the tannins are a little too aggressive just now. It needs to come around. so plan to hold it a couple more years after release for best results. It may yet be entitled to an uptick.
