Offering up aromas of minty cassis and blackberries mingled with loamy soil, the 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a medium to full-bodied, lively and charming wine that's nicely balanced, but not especially deep or penetrating.

Lots of Lynch character to this wine, with a full body and blackcurrant, dark-chocolate, tar and lean-pencil character. Full and flavorful. Solid center-palate. Second wine. Nicely put together. 56% merlot and 44% cabernet sauvignon.

Amazing aromatics - very fruit forward on the nose full of blackcurrant, black cherry and black pepper. The strawberry, raspberry and cranberry fruit absolutely sings in the glass, punchy with excellent clarity and soft plushness. Silky tannins, barely there except to give a mineral, wet stone texture which is to the fore. It’s profound in terms of depth of flavour - vertical and structured, but not heavy or exuberant with freshness and focus keeping it lifted and graceful. Well balanced, harmonious and full of classicism in the best sense. This is the 19th vintage for winemaker Pierre Seillan, whose son will now take the helm. No chaptalisation needed here. 3.64pH. Ageing in 70% new oak.

The second vintage vinified in the Caze family's new winery, the 2021 Lynch-Bages unwinds in the glass with aromas of minty cassis, sweet berries, loamy soil, black truffle and cigar wrapper, framed by nicely integrated new oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and muscular, it's a serious, layered, powerful, youthfully structured wine that will come together beautifully with maturation in barrel.

Die Cuvee besteht aus: 73 Merlot | 17 Cabernet-Franc | 7 Cabernet-Sauvignon | 2 Carménère | 1 Malbec

Die Nase ist etwas süsslich geprägt von zarten Nuss/Krokant Aromenetwas Schokotouch, es steht auch eine klare Kirsche im Glas. Im Mund ist der Wein sogar erstaunlich kompakt, mit saftiger Frucht und guter Tanninintensität. Der Nachhall ist fleischig und fruchtbetont. Gute Länge, ein Erfolg des Jahrgangs. 91-92 Punkte

Der Ausbau wird 16-18 Monate dauern, 95% Barrique und zu 50% Neuholzanteil sowie 5% in Amphoren.

Not much wine was made as the yields were under 15 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2023-2035.
