Offering up aromas of sweet cherries, dark berries, licorice and flowers, the 2021 d'Aiguilhe is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and polished, with a tangy spine of acidity, beautifully refined tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is a terrific effort from the von Neipperg family's organically farmed Castillon estate.

Pontet Canet 2021 Klare dunkle Nase, mit saftiger schwarzer Kirsche. Die Tannine sind recht präsent und zu Beginn noch fordernd. Mit mehr Zeit im Glas, wird der Wein offener und zeigt auch ein paar minzige frische Nuancen, seine Frucht schwenkt etwas in das heller rotbeerige mit einem Hauch an Bleistift erinnernd. Er geiwinnt an Esprit und Leichtigkeit mit der Zeit, ein feiner und verspielter Jahrgang für Pontet Canet. 93-94 Punkte

Offering up wild, exotic aromas of blackberries, cloves and Indian spices mingled with notions of rose petal, bruised orchard fruit and cherry pit that evolve rapidly in the glass, the 2021 Pontet-Canet is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered mid-palate and refined tannins that assert themselves on the firm, saline finish. Always one of the Médoc's most singular, idiosyncratic wines, it will be interesting to see how it performs in bottle.

Jacky und Françoise Lorenzetti kauften das Anwesen, nachdem sie sich sofort in es verliebt hatten. Sie brachten Leidenschaft und Ehrgeiz in dieses neue Projekt ein. 2018 brachte die Ankunft von Manon Lorenzetti neue Energie in ihr Projekt und war der Beginn der Übergabe. Als Repräsentantin einer neuen Generation von Gutsbesitzern möchte Manon den Vorstoß in Richtung Best Practice im Weinberg beschleunigen, den ihre Eltern zusammen mit Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen und seinen Teams 2009 initiiert haben.

Im Jahr 2020, nachdem die Lorenzettis ihre erstklassigen Saint-Estèphe-Weinberge umstrukturiert und beschlossen hatten, ihre Weinbaupraktiken auf den Schutz der Umwelt abzustimmen, wurde Château Lilian Ladouys zum Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel ernannt. 2021 beginnt das Weingut dann offiziell mit der Umstellung auf ökologischen Landbau.

William Kelley im April 2022: The 2021 Laroque is very promising indeed, and winemaker David Suire and I agree that it is likely to surpass the estate's 2018 vintage in quality. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet berries, plums and cherries, framed by a discreet patina of new oak, it's medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, with excellent concentration, lively acids and ripe, melting tannins. A blend of 99% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, it represents 45% of the estate's production and derives from vines more than 50 years old.
