Black currants, chocolate, licorice and espresso fill the perfume. On the palate, the wine is fresh, sweet, creamy and polished. The tannins are soft, the fruit is sweet, and pure, with ample lift in the finish. This is the best vintage of Belgrave I have ever tasted! Drink from 2026-2042.

Chateau le Boscq 2022 Saint Estephe
92-94 Punkte von Jeb Dunnuck für den Chateau Le Boscq 2022 Saint Estephe Den Chateau Le Boscq 2022 Saint Estephe beschreibt Jeb Dunnuck wie folgt:
An absolutely stunning Saint-Estèphe, the 2022 Château Le Boscq offers thrilling levels of plum and cassis fruits that slowly give way to more gravelly earth, licorice, and violet notes with air. Fullbodied, concentrated, and beautifully balanced, with remarkable purity of fruit, this is a seriously good 2022 that will need 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for decades. If it shows this well from bottle, it will easily be the finest wine I've tasted from this château.

Sweet, black currants, spice, tobacco leaf, and espresso nuances are all over the wine in the perfume, and on the palate. The fruits are ripe, creamy, and polished, with a display of chocolate, and black currants in the mid-palate and finish. Drink from 2025-2040.

Finesse with structure. Could move up a notch with the elevage. 53% cabernet sauvignon, 43% merlot, 2.5% petit verdot, and 1.5% cabernet franc.

The 2022 Château Malartic-Lagravière does incredibly well in the vintage and offers a beautiful sense of freshness and elegance while still staying concentrated and textured. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it has an up-front, expressive style in its red and blue fruits as well as spring flower, tobacco, and graphite-like aromatics. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has ripe, polished tannins, fabulous overall balance, and a great finish. The purity and precision here are top-notch.

With a depth of color, the wine pops with nuances of flowers, cherries, cedar, tobacco leaf, black currants, spice, cocoa, and mint tea. Even better on the palate, the concentrated, showy display of spicy, black cherries, blackberries, plums, white pepper, and dark chocolate is perfectly balanced with length, freshness and creamy, silkiness in the finish. The wine is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 2.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc. 14.2% ABV pH 3.58. Harvesting took place September 5 - September 29. Drink from 2026-2050.

Round, concentrated, vibrant and dynamic, a lovely burst of intense red and black fruits before quite serious tannins take hold in the mouth. Fine but full, they give the frame and the structure, setting the tone for a serious wine while the fruit and freshnes softly expand giving an aerial element to the finish. A lovely wine with intensity and detail, not the most demonstrative or juicy and appealing right now, but really well made and delivered. Supple, bright, chalky, chewy, this wine has intensity and precision. A little bit serious towards the end, the fruit just losing some focus, where it becomes more about the tannins and freshness but lots to like here with good potential. 1.5% Cabernet Franc. A yield 27hl/ha. HVE3 certified.

The Grand Vin 2022 Château Langoa Barton checks in as 56.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that was raised in 60% new barrels. Medium-bodied and vibrant, with a fresher, elegant, yet still textured profile, it has pure black and blue fruits, some lead pencil, tobacco, and earthy nuances, fine tannins, and a great finish. This 2022 is all about finesse and elegance. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

93-95+ Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Langoa Barton 2022 Saint Julien Den Chateau Langoa Barton 2022 Saint Julien beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
The first vintage produced in the estate's new winery, which more than doubled the number of vats, permitting sub-plot by sub-plot vinification, the brilliant 2022 Langoa Barton offers up aromas of dark berries, cassis, violets and cigar wrapper, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy palate endowed with terrific depth and tension. Polished and penetrating, it should match or even surpass the 2019 and 2016 vintages, and it is sure to be one of the more intelligent purchases of the en primeur campaign.

Cassis, tobaccoa, flowers, blackberries, and red currants show easily on the nose, and palate. There is a wealth of fresh, dark red fruits, creamy tannins, and blackberries on the mid-palate, and in the finish. This clearly shows a new face for Langoa Barton with more fruit, and softer tannins, yet the wine holds on to its classic style as well. The wine blends 56.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 2.5% Cabernet Franc. 14.2% ABV. Drink from 2027-2050.

 BIO
93-95 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau La Lagune Haut Medoc 2022 Den Chateau La Lagune Haut Medoc 2022 beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
Reminding me, like the 2019, of a modern-day version of the lovely 1990, the 2022 La Lagune bursts with aromas of dark berries, cassis, licorice and violets. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, it's a broad, sensual wine with velvety tannins and a suave, charming profile. With 13.8% alcohol, it remains classically proportioned, with a rather high pH of over 3.8 likely contributing to its open, giving style this year.

95-96 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau La Lagune Haut Medoc 2022 Den Chateau La Lagune Haut Medoc 2022 beschreibt James Suckling wie folgt:
This is long and fresh with a linear feeling to the rich fruit, showing plums, redcurrants and spices, with chocolate and walnuts. Medium to full body. Fine tannins. This is the first year being certified biodynamic from Demeter and furthermore, La Lagune is always excellent in hot years.

One of the best Haut-Médoc out there, the 2022 Château La Lagune reveals a dense purple hue as well as a classic Médoc bouquet of blackcurrants, leafy herbs, fresh earth, and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a layered, concentrated mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a great finish. A stunning wine, it will have 30 years of longevity if properly stored.

Decanter.com (Georgina Hindle) : 94 / 100 Fragrant and floral on the nose. Juicy and vibrant, this has a lovely weight and depth on the palate while remaining cool and fresh. Generous mineral hints add to black cherry, plum and raspberry fruit while liquorice, graphite and wet stone give crisp edges with bite. Feels well constructed, not pushed too hard at all, but still offering a generous and appealing wine with mouthwatering acidity and fruit purity. Compact, but beautifully textured. Really just so appealing and inviting. Impressive and good potential. Tasted twice. Harvest 9-26 September.

94-96 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau de Fieuzal rouge 2022 Pessac Leognan Den Chateau de Fieuzal rouge 2022 Pessac Leognan beschreibt William Kelley wie folgt:
The cumulative rainfall at Château Fieuzal was only 385 millimeters in 2022, compared to 753 millimeters in 2021 and 743 millimeters in 2020. But this did not prevent Stephen Carrier and his team from making a fresh and energetic 2022 de Fieuzal, bursting with aromas of violet, iris, menthol and crunchy wild berries mingled with hints of coniferous forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, it's pristinely balanced and beautifully layered, exhibiting a vibrant palate that's deep, tensile and elegant, concluding with a mouthwateringly mineral finish. This estate is achieving things no one would have thought possible a decade ago.

The 2022 Château De Fieuzal is brilliant, and this estate deserves more attention in the market today. Ripe red and black fruits, spring flowers, leafy tobacco, and loamy earth all emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a supple, layered, elegant mouthfeel and a great finish. I love its overall balance, and this could be a real superstar in the vintage.
