92 Punkte Vinous für den Chateau Latour Martillac 2016 Pessac LeognanAntonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 Latour-Martillac has come together very nicely during its aging. Black cherry, plum, leather, licorice, spice and chocolate give the 2016 much of its racy, extroverted feel. Deep, dark and quite powerful, the 2016 is showing beautifully today. The oak could use a bit more time to fully come together, but that is a relatively small critique for a wine that delivers so much pleasure.

93 Parker Punkte für den Chateau Latour Martillac 2016 Pessac LeognanLisa Perrotti Brown im November 2018:

The 2016 Latour Martillac is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with warm plums, kirsch and redcurrant jelly on the nose with touches of bay leaves, iron ore and black soil. Medium-bodied with a well-sustained mid-palate of muscular fruit, it has a firm backbone of fine-grained tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing very long.

96 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Latour Martillac 2016 Pessac LeognanVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:

Attractive fennel, grasses, fresh herbs and chamomile with pithy-citrus and wet-chalk notes. The palate delivers a really plush and fleshy array of bright and zesty fruit and has a long, fresh and fleshy resolve. Piercing drive and restrained density here. A blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink or hold.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Malartic Lagraviere rouge 2016Antonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 Malartic Lagravière offers a deeply intriguing interplay of rich red/purplish berry fruit and fresher, brighter notes that give the wine its sense of delineation. Lavender, rose petal and mint add striking high-toned nuances to this finely cut wine. The 2016 has turned out beautifully. Most important of all, it is impressively delicious today.

92 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Malartic Lagravier 2016 Lisa Perrotti Brown im November 2018:

The 2016 Malartic Lagraviere is blended of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with wild blueberries and black cherries with cassis, bay leaves and dark chocolate nuances plus a hint of charcoal. Medium-bodied with a lively backbone and solid frame of ripe, rounded tannins, it finishes with an herbal lift.

96 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere 2016 PessacVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:

I love the deep and complex nose, in which the cassis and mint of cabernet sauvignon are beautifully married to the more generous blackberry of ripe merlot and the vanilla and toasty notes from the oak are marvelously integrated. On the palate it creeps up on you slowly; the first impression is ripe yet delicate, then the fine-grained tannins charge through and light up the sky. Very long finish. Drink or hold.

97 Punkte Vinous / Galloni für den Domaine de Chevalier 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanAntonio Galloni bewertet den Domaine de Chevalier rouge 2016 im Januar 2019 wie folgt:

The 2016 Domaine de Chevalier is a thrilling wine. Dense and beautifully layered, the 2016 is also quite a bit richer than it usually is. Cabernet Sauvignon aromatics and structure pulse through the wine. The red-toned fruit is incredibly primary at this stage. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2016 for at least a handful of years. It has been nothing short of magnificent on the three occasions I have tasted it so far.

94+ Parker Punkte für den Domaine de Chevalier 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanLisa Perrotti Brown 30. November 2018

The 2016 Domaine de Chevalier is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it rocks up with expressive warm plums, blueberry compote and cassis scents with suggestions of sandalwood, baking spices and potpourri. Medium-bodied and delicately styled yet with a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins, it sports restrained earth-laced fruit and a long finish.

97 Sucklingpunkte für den Domaine de Chevalier 2016 rouge Pessac LeognanVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:

Aromas of blackberries, red and dark plums, cedar and gravel, as well as red flowers and brown-leaf tea. It offers a very sleek and powerful array of ripe dark fruit and a very plush, focused and elegant bed of fresh, fine and powerful tannins. Plenty of aging potential, this is still quite tight. A blend of 55 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 35 per cent merlot, five per cent cabernet franc and five per cent petit verdot. Try from 2024.

95+ Parker Punkte für den Les Carmes Haut Brion 2016Lisa Perritto Brown am 30.11.2018

The 2016 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a blend of 41% Cabernet Franc, 39% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 65% new and 35% one-year-old oak for 22 months. This is one of the largest percentages of Cabernet Franc for this wine this vintage. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it gives notes of kirsch, black raspberries and black plums with touches of cassis, violets, chocolate box and pencil shavings. The palate is medium-bodied, firm, grainy and lively with loads of layers and a long, well-poised finish.

98 Punkte Vinous / Galloni für den Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2016 Pessac LeognanAntonio Galloni bewertet den Les Carmes Haut Brion 2016 im Januar 2019 wie folgt:

The 2016 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is very clearly one of the wines of the vintage. Breathtaking in its beauty, the 2016 soars from the glass with stunning aromatic and flavor intensity. Red cherry jam, wild flowers, mint, blood orange and sage are some of many notes that develop. In the glass, the 2016 is a vivid, statuesque, exotic wine that takes over all the senses as it delivers tons of pure pleasure. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2016 for at least a few years, but that will be virtually impossible. The 2016 is a towering masterpiece from Les Carmes Haut-Brion and Technical Director Guillaume Pouthier. Tasted three times.

97 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion 2016 Pessac LeognanVerkostungsbericht vom 03. Februar 2019:

Terrific ripeness, depth and complexity on offer here. This has a very attractive array of bright, ripe blueberries and cassis with some leafy and earthy notes. The palate has a quite deep, long and vibrant array of perfectly ripe dark plums and blueberries. So good. Best vintage this decade. Try from 2023.

100 Parker Punkte für den Chateau Haut Brion 2016 Pessac LeognanLisa Perrotti Brown am 30.11.2018

The 2016 Haut-Brion is blended of 56% Merlot, 37.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6.5% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is at once profound and arresting, offering drop-dead gorgeous Morello cherries, lilacs and red rose scents with a core of Black Forest cake, warm blackcurrants and blueberry preserves plus wafts of sandalwood and underbrush. Medium-bodied, the elegantly crafted palate is completely packed with intense floral, mineral and cassis-laced flavors with a firm frame of very finely pixelated tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and achingly stunning.

100 Punkte James Suckling für den Chateau Haut Brion 2016 Pessac LeognanJames Suckling im Februar 2019:

Stunning black fruit with plenty of forest berries in there, the whole picture cool and very delicate, also on the concentrated and highly structured palate. The tannins are very fine-grained, but decisively austere and, together with the vibrant acidity, they propel the finish out towards infinity and leave a breathtaking final impression. A blend of 56 per cent merlot, 37.5 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 6.5 per cent cabernet franc. Very long aging potential, but you could try it in 2023.

100 Punkte Vinous | Chateau Haut Brion 2016 Pessac LeognanAntonio Galloni Januar 2019:

The 2016 Haut-Brion is quite possibly even more magnificent from bottle than it was from barrel. Powerful and rich, yet not at all heavy, the 2016 is a wine of nearly indescribable beauty. Haut-Brion is often a thrilling wine, but it is rarely this finessed in its youth. Gravel, cure meat, tobacco and cedar are some of the many nuances that develop with air, but it is an extraordinary sense of harmony that really stands out. What a wine!
