Deep garnet-purple colored. the 2019 Villemaurine explodes from the glass with powerful notes of stewed plums. Black Forest cake and blackberry preserves with underlying hints of Chinese five spice. violets. espresso and cardamom with a waft of sandalwood. Full-bodied. rich. ripe and oh-so-decadent in the mouth. the palate is jam-packed with black fruit preserves. framed by velvety tannins and just enough freshness. finishing long with layers of opulent exotic spices.

The 2019 Villemaurine has a well defined. slightly earthy. more introspective bouquet than its peers. a distinctive marine scent emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins. a judicious sprinkling of cracked black pepper and quite a structured and persistent finish that bodes well for the future. This is very promising. Tasted three times.

A firm. velvety red with polished tannins and lots of pretty fruit. Medium to full body. juicy fruit and lots of flavor. Salty undertones. Very attractive young wine.

The 2019 Villemaurine is a rich. powerful wine. An exotic mélange of blackberry jam. graphite. spice. menthol. licorice. espresso and chocolate emerges as the 2019 shows off its richness and pure power. This is a decidedly extroverted style. This fruit saw five days of cold soak followed by 30 days on the skins and malolactic fermentation in barrel. all choices that exalt textural depth. The 2019 is simply gorgeous. that's all there is to it. Tasted two times.
