What strikes you is how aromatic this already is at this stage. Complex and decadent, showing lots of dark berries, smoked meat, wet earth, and dried leaves. Decadent. Full-bodied with very ripe and polished, velvety tannins. Great finish.

97-99 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2018 Saint EmilionLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

Thirty-three plots contributed to this wine, out of the 43 in production. Five went into Petit Cheval and five into bulk. The 2018 Cheval Blanc is a blend of 54% Merlot. 40% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, with a 3.75 pH and 14.5% alcohol. Deep purple-black in color, the nose is more open at the core of the wine than the Le Petit Cheval, strutting out of the glass with bold, ripe black cherries, cassis, warm plums and raspberry preserves notes. With coaxing, a whole array of fragrant spice, floral and earth notes emerge, followed by candied violets, star anise, powdered cinnamon, iron ore, tapenade and truffles plus wafts of camphor and mocha. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firm yet possesses a beautifully plush structure of velvety tannins wrapping round the densely packed, complex, fragrant fruit, with seamless freshness and a very long, layered finish.

97-100 Punkte bei Vinous für den Chateau-Cheval-Blanc-2018-Saint-EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2018 Saint Emilion wie folgt:

The 2018 Cheval Blanc is dazzling. Creamy, supple and inviting, the 2018 is endowed with phenomenal balance. The tannins and overall structure are imposing and yet the richness of the fruit and perfect ripeness of the tannin really stand out. In 2018, Cheval is a bit richer than is often the case, but that is not at all a bad thing. I am struck by how much freshness and energy the 2018 has. Hints of lavender, spice and licorice add shades of nuance, but it is the wine's overall sense of harmony that leaves the strongest impression. A precise counterpoint of fruit richness and finesse makes for a truly unforgettable Cheval Blanc und vergibt ihm 97-100 Punkte.

19 Jul, 2021 – Blackberries and fresh herbs with some dried soil and bark on the nose and palate. Medium to full body with fine, polished tannins and a long, racy finish. Really polished and precise. Drink after 2024

91 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand CruAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:
The 2019 Haut-Brisson is elegant and understated. Crushed red berry fruit, spice, mint, blood orange and licorice open nicely, followed by sweet floral accents that add lift. There is a bit of graininess in the tannin that lurks in the background. Otherwise this is nicely done.

91 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand CruUnd Neal Martin (vinous) zu Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:
The 2019 Haut-Brisson has a forward, vivacious bouquet of vibrant black fruit, still showing the subtle fish-scale scent that I noticed from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, gentle grip and a nicely proportioned finish that will require three or four years to absorb the oak.

93 Punkte vom Falstaff für den Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand CruDer Chateau Haut Brisson 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru am Gaumen der Falstaff-Verköstiger:
Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Rauchig-kräuterwürzig unterlegte schwarze Waldbeerenfrucht, Brombeeren, Lakritze, feiner Edelholztouch, etwas Nougat. Komplex, saftig, reife Kirschen, feine Tannine, gute Frische im Abgang, ausgewogen und bereits gut entwickelt, schokoladiger Anklang, gutes Entwicklungspotenzial.

Chateau Saint-Georges Cote Pavie 2018 Saint-Emilion Grand-Cru

The 2018 Saint-Georges (Côte Pavie) is a deep. brooding wine with a compelling interplay of dense fruit and supporting structure. Blueberry jam. savory herbs. lavender. mint. spice and gravel jump from the glass in this potent. virile Saint-Émilion. Saint-Georges has really come along in the last few years. The 2018 is terrific and also quite promising. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

93 Suckling Punkte für den Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint EmilionJames Suckling über den Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint Emilion:
Perfumed nose of dried flowers, sandalwood, pine cones, currants, cassis, cloves, walnuts and spiced plums. It’s medium-to full-bodied with polished, ripe and creamy tannins. Plush and velvety with a supple, fresh finish. Drink from 2024.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni (Vinous) bewertet den Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Fombrauge is one of the best wines I have tasted from this property in some time. It shows all the richness that is typical of Bernard Magrez's style but with less heaviness and a good deal of aromatic presence that helps balance things out. Sweet dark cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice and mocha build into the resonant, super-expressive finish. The 2019 is a classy Fombrauge.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Fombrauge, which was bottled in spring 2021, retains the opulence that I found from barrel, still showing that heady mixture of blackberry, blueberry and a touch of cooked meat, if perhaps just requiring a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and generous, with succulent ripe tannins, a satiny texture and a gossamer finish that slips down the throat. Afford it 5–6 years and this should evolve into a lovely Saint-Émilion.

93 Punkte vom Wine Spectator für den Für den Wine Spectator verköstigte James Molesworth den Chateau Fombrauge 2019 Saint Emilion:
This rolls through with a cashmere grace, offering cassis, steeped plum and blackberry purée flavors infused with black tea and incense notes. A late alder thread keeps this nicely grounded. Suave. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2023 through 2035. 23,000 cases made.

Cuvee: 71.5 Merlot / 14.5 Cabernet Franc / 14 Cabernet Sauvignon. 90-92+ Punkte

93-94 Sucklingpunkte für den Chateau Quinault l Enclos 2018 Saint Emilion Grand CruJames Suckling bewertet den Chateau Quinault L Enclos 2018 am 11.04.2019 wie folgt:

This is the best Quinault ever for me with beautiful density and depth of fruit. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and intense finish. Lots of fruit. but the tannins hold it together.

92-94 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Quinault L Enclos 2018 im April 2019 wie folgt:

This a very gravelly soil with great drainage, but not a lot of water during dry periods. Adeptly produced by the team of Cheval Blanc (who purchased the estate in 2008), the wine nonetheless maintained its poise under the dry. warm ripening conditions of 2018, coming in at a respectable pH of 3.67 and relatively moderate alcohol of 14.1%. The 2018 Quinault l Enclos is blended of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc with 50% new oak and the rest in one-year-old barrels - but only 500-liter and foudres. Deep purple-black in color, it slips seductively out of the glass with notions of warm plums, blueberry preserves and mulberries with touches of spice box, tilled soil, black olives and licorice plus a waft of lavender. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with muscular black fruit and licorice sparks, framed by rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with a peppery kick.

91-94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Quinault l Enclos 2018 Saint Emilion Grand CruAntonio Galloni beschreibt den Wein im Mai 2019 wie folgt:

The 2018 Quinault L Enclos is impressive. Creamy and ample, the 2018 stands out for its textural breadth. There is a level of intensity in the 2018 that previous vintages have not achieved, with a balance of Merlot. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that is striking for such a young wine. All of the work the Cheval Blanc team has done here over the last ten years have begun to pay off big time. Half of the property was replanted between 2008 and 2012 with more Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc from Cheval and Merlot on later-ripening rootstock. In the glass, the 2018 Quinault offers a striking interplay of floral and savory aromatic and layered fruit, with ripe, silky tannins that caress a core of plush, plaint fruit and a gorgeous, saline-infused finish. There is a level of precision in the 2018 that is positively breathtaking.

The 2018 Grand Mayne is deep garnet-purple colored and gives up a nose of baked blackberries, prunes and raisin cake with touches of dusty soil, sauteed herbs and fungi. Full and concentrated, with a firm, chewy texture, it delivers a spicy finish.

The 2018 Grand Mayne is creamy, resonant and beautifully layered. Black cherry, chocolate, sweet spice, licorice and new leather build in a deep, sumptuous Saint-emilion loaded with character. This is very nicely done.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für den Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut MedocFür den Wine Advocate bewertet William Kelley den Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut Medoc:

Notes of minty cassis, cigar wrapper and loamy soil, deftly framed by toasty new oak, introduce the 2019 Sociando-Mallet, a medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated wine that’s incipiently complex and elegantly muscular in profile. The style of the vintage has lent this more youthful polish than is sometimes the case, and it will offer a broad drinking window.

95 Suckling Punkte für den Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut MedocJames Suckling über den Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut Medoc:

17 Jan, 2022 – Redcurrants with sweet tobacco, hazelnut, mint and moist earth, following through to a medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a palate that grows at the finish. Needs a minimum of three or four years to come around. Try after 2025.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für den Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut MedocUnd Neal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Sociando Mallet 2019 Haut Medoc:

The 2019 Sociando-Mallet has gained composure since I tasted the barrel sample. Now it has engaging red and black fruit, cedar and freshly rolled tobacco scents, focused and quite vigorous. The palate is structured, with firm grip, very well-judged acidity, good substance and a cohesive, black-pepper- and pencil-lead-tinged finish that has real length. Top-drawer Sociando-Mallet.
