The 2018 de Pressac is laced with inky red berry fruit. blood orange. mint. leather. menthol and sweet floral notes. In multiple tastings. Pressac has been quite closed and reticent. Even so. there is terrific depth and textural resonance that carries through to the layered finish. At this stage. Pressac appears to be less exuberant than it typical is at this stage. The blend is 65% Merlot. 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Carmenère. Malbec and Cabernet Franc.

Blackcurrant, cherry and violet aromas follow through to a medium to full body with very well-integrated tannins that give a soft and creamy impression. Long and satisfying already, but needs another three or four years to come together. Try after 2023.

A terrific effort from an estate that was long one of Saint-Émilion's sleeping giants, the 2019 Laroque unwinds in the glass with aromas of cherries, licorice, loamy soil, rose petals and sweet tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, it's deep and concentrated, with succulent aids, powdery tannins and a seamless, integrated profile. It's well worth seeking out.

mit 95+ Punkten von Jeb Dunnuck bewertetJeb Dunnuck im März 2023:

From an estate that has been on an incredible run of late, largely due to the talents of director David Suire, the 2020 Château Laroque shows the cooler, limestone-driven style of the terroir beautifully and has a clean, focused style in its darker (almost blue) berry fruits as well as chalky minerality, violets, spice, and floral nuances. Medium-bodied on the palate, this focused, straight, remarkably pure Saint-Emilion has terrific mid-palate depth and a great finish. It needs to be hidden in the cellar for a solid 4-5 years if possible and is going to have 30 years of longevity. If drinking any time soon, give it an hour in a decanter.

93 Punkte vom Wine Advocate für denWilliam Kelley im April 2023:

The 2020 Laroque has turned out nicely, bursting with aromas of cherries, minty blackberries, licorice and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with good depth at the core, chalky but refined tannins and a saline finish, it's another strong performance for this rising star of Saint-Émilion.

Another beautiful wine from the Lefévère family that does everything right, the 2019 Château Sansonnet has a textbook Saint-Emilion bouquet of chalky minerality, ripe red and black fruits, notes of truffle and flowers, medium to full body, and beautiful overall balance. In the past, this wine has had a glossy, slightly modern style (in a good sense), but the 2019 has an incredibly classic feel with its oak nicely integrated and just a liquid rock-like minerality on the finish. It's a gorgeous wine that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for over two decades.

The 2019 Sansonnet offers a striking combination of fruit intensity and structure. There is plenty of the intense, inky fruit that readers have come to expect in recent years, but that opulence is beautifully balanced by the wine's energy and overall drive. Blackberry jam, spice, leather, tobacco, menthol, cedar and chocolate build as the 2019 shows off its alluring personality. Tasted two times.

94 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denNeal Martin (Vinous) zum Chateau Sansonnet 2019 Saint Emilion:
The 2019 Sansonnet seems to revel in the vintage. The aromatics explode from the glass with precocious black cherry, raspberry and blueberry scents, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and manages to counterbalance its power with tension, retaining crucial sapidity on the prolonged finish. Excellent.

This is both lush and structured, with a gush of dark, steeped cassis, blackberry and fig notes leading the way and quickly followed by singed alder and juniper, warm humus and cast iron notes, which really linger. This won't ever be a charmer, but it will develop nicely over time. Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2023 through 2038. 2,100 cases made, 300 cases imported.

The 2019 Poesia is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted from Hélène and Patrice Lévêque. Rich and sumptuous, Poesia marries intensity with vibrancy in grand style. Poesia is a big, explosive Saint-Émilion, but it also possesses tremendous energy. Dark fruit, gravel, incense, spice and saddle leather open with a bit of coaxing. There is an exotic quality to Poesia in 2019 that is especially alluring. Brilliant.

93 Punkte vom Vinous-Team für denUnd Neal Martin (vinous) zum Chateau Poesia 2019 Saint Emilion Grand Cru:
The 2019 Poesia has an expressive bouquet featuring a mélange of red and black fruit and black pepper, the limestone terroir lending tension. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, perhaps a little more powerful than the Barde-Haut, and displays very fine precision on the finish. A touch of white pepper furnishes the aftertaste. Probably the best Poesia ever.

1 Dec, 2021 – Beautiful, intense fruit, dark-earth and chocolate character on the nose. Full-bodied with great density and plush, fine tannins that give a fine-velvet texture. From clay-rich soils opposite Troplong Mondot in the commune Saint Christophe des Bardes, the 2019 Tour Saint Christophe offers up demonstrative aromas of cherries, wild berries, sweet loamy soil, licorice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, it's a strong effort in a crowd-pleasing style.

TThis estate has been delivering the goods for numerous vintages now, and the 2019 Château Tour Saint Christophe is another terrific wine. Ripe black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, new leather, and chalky minerality all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a tight, straight, focused texture, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. It doesn't have the mid-palate density or opulence of the 2018, but it’s more pretty, focused, and straight on the palate. Give bottles 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

The 2019 Tour Saint Christophe builds on the promise it showed from barrel. This sample was actually tasted at my home, where I afforded it a two-hour decant. This estate is in a cool, limestone terroir on the eastern side of Saint- Emilion, and it's been firing on all cylinders over the past decade, in no small part due to the talented director, David Suire. The 2018 Château Laroque checks in as almost all Merlot (there is 3% Cabernet Franc) that comes from an incredibly strict selection of just 41% of the total production. Brought up in a mix of new and used barrels, it's more about finesse than power, offering a gorgeous perfume of ripe black cherries, mulberries, cassis, violets, spring flowers, and chalky minerality. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and incredibly elegant on the palate, it builds nicely with time in the glass, has ultra-fine tannins, flawlessly integrated tannins, acidity and fruit, and a great finish. It's as classy as they come. Approachable today with a decant, it will drink nicely for 20 years or more. Deep garnet-purple in color. the 2017 Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) prances out of the glass with energetic notes of crushed black and red plums. black cherries and black raspberries plus wafts of potpourri. oolong tea and lavender. The medium-bodied palate is oh-so-pretty with bags of fragrant fruit and a firm. plush frame. finishing long and perfumed.

This is so fine and refined with citrus, crushed stone, lime stone and fresh mushroom. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Minerally finish. Tight and racy. Drink after 2025, but already beautiful.

Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 mit 94+ Parker Punkten bewertetLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:
The 2015 Clos Fourtet is a blend of 90% Merlot. 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. and it was picked between 18 September and 12 October. It has a voluminous bouquet with sweet cassis and blueberry aromas. rather smudged with violets coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannin. ripe and voluptuous. dark chocolate infusing the red and black fruit with a touch of mint on the structured. graceful finish. What a fabulous Saint Emilion from Mathieu Cuvelier and his team - Clos Fourtet with breeding and class. It deserves 5-8 years in bottle.

Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 Saint Emilion mit 97 Punkten bei VinousAntonio Galloni bewertet den Clos Fourtet 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:
Clos Fourtet is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty in 2015. Powerful. vivid and wonderfully nuanced. it exudes class. Inky red/purplish stone fruit. lavender. spice. mint and orange peel give the 2015 its myriad shades of nuance. but it is the wine's balance and total sense of harmony that elevate it to the realm of the profound. In 2015. Clos Fourtet has a bit more body and resonance than is typically the case. Beneath all of the fruit. however. the 2015 has more than enough energy and structural underpinning to drink well for many years. This is a stunning wine from the Cuvelier family and consulting winemakers Stéphane Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu. The blend is 88% Merlot. 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times.

Thoroughly ripe but seemingly light-footed. as a remarkably silky structure lets waves of plum sauce. blueberry reduction and raspberry puree glide through effortlessly. Light licorice. violet and ganache hints add to the finish. showing very fine chalky minerality in the background. Drink now through 2035. 4.417 cases made.
