F\u00fcr den 2016er Quintessa wurden Trauben aus den folgenden Parzellen der Winery verwendet: Dragon’s Terrace, Cruz del Sur, Mt. Calisse, Bench, Las Casas, Corona, Riveria, Monte Cruz, Limelight, Howard’s Milion, Pedraza, Silver South, Alcantara, Tesoro, Canyon, Corral.<\/p>\n

Die Lese erstreckte sich \u00fcber gut einen Monat von Mitte September bis Mitte Oktober und ist ein weiteres Indiz f\u00fcr die aussergew\u00f6hnlich G\u00fcte des Jahrgang 2016 auf Quintessa.
Die Blend besteht aus: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Carmenere
Der Ausbau erfolgte \u00fcber 20 Monate in 70% neuen F\u00e4ssern.
Er hat einen Alkoholgehalt von 14.50 Vol%.<\/p>\n

Quintessa Rutherford Napa Valley<\/h3>\n

der Jahrgang 2016 ist wohl das vorzeitige Highlight in der Historie des Weinguts. Der Jahrgang 2016 ist bei so vielen Weing\u00fctern im Tal besonders gut gelungen. Der Jahrgang zeichnet sich durch eine grosse Vielschichtigkeit aus, nicht ganz das Blockbuster Jahr wie 2013 und dennoch viele Parallelen mit hoher Finesse und Frische.<\/p>\n

Das Weingut Quintessa liegt in der AVA Rutherford im Napa Valley. Die zwei Besitzer Agustin and Valeria Huneeus kamen ins Tal um einen versteckten Schatz ans Tageslicht zu tragen. Sie legten die Weinberge sorgf\u00e4ltig und mit gr\u00f6sster Hingabe an. Das Weingut umfasst 26 einzelnen Weinbergslagen auf drei verscheidenen Terroirs. Es gibt nur einen Spitzenwein, keinen Zweitwein. Denn Quintessa ist die Quintessence des Landes.<\/div>\n

Die drei Terroirs lassen sich grob in folgende Bereiche einteilen: Eastern Hills (4-8 Million Jahre Alte B\u00f6den) , Central Hills (4 Milionen Jahre alte B\u00f6den)\u00a0 und die Bench (1000-5000 Jahre alte B\u00f6den). Die B\u00f6den sind von sehr hartem Gestein, \u00fcber vulkanische B\u00f6den bis hin zu Kalk und Lehmb\u00f6den. Diese Vielfalt der einzelnen Parzellen uns Mikroklimata verleihen dem Quintessa seine Komplexit\u00e4t und Finesse.<\/div>\n
