Joanin Becot 2015 mit 91 Punkten bei James SucklingJames Suckling bewertet den Chateau Joanin Becot 2015 am 02.02.2018 wie folgt:

A juicy wine with chocolate, almond and plum character. Medium to full body, chewy and velvety tannins and flavorful finish. Serious for the appellation. A little austere now but will be better in 2020.

Joanin Becot 2015 mit 89 Parker Punkten ausgezeichnetLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Joanin Becot 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:

The 2015 Joanin Becot is blended of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aged on the lees in 60% new and 40% one-year-old barrels for 16 months. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with crushed red cherries and black raspberries on the nose with nuances of underbrush and bay leaves. The mouth is full, rich and a little rustic with firm, chewy tannins and a long, earthy finish.

Chateau Joanin Becot 2015 Cotes de CastillonOn the toasty side, with flashes of vanilla and mocha, but there's ample fleshy plum sauce and currant preserve flavors at the core, along with lingering notes of anise and violet on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2025. 4,750 cases made.

Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Pindefleurs 2015 im April 2016:

The 2015 Château Pindefleurs has a beautiful bouquet, extremely pure and generous with blueberry and blackberry fruit, well integrated oak, hints of violet and rose petal in the background. The palate is fresh and vibrant, the tannins extremely fine and the acidity well judged, lending tension and precision. I love how this flows across the mouth - one of the best Pindefleurs that I have tasted. This comes highly recommended.

Zudem erklärt Neal Martin 12 Weine zu seinen ganz persönlichen Kaufempfehlung:

"While the top names in Bordeaux can be prone to an internecine game of trying to price their wine higher than their competitors to "protect the brand," it remains true that there are hundreds of châteaux that offer outstanding value for money. Here are twelve wines that could represent some of the best values in 2015."

This is another Saint Emilion property that reveled in such a great vintage for the appellation. Refined, elegant and "flowing," this is a just a lovely wine in the making.

Seductive. The nose draws you in deep: It’s like staring into a well of pristine dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries and mulberries.
All the oak is perfectly subsumed. The palate’s flawless with immense depth and power and it’s so balanced as to appear to float.
Immaculate fresh dark-berry and plum flavors. Silky and deep, ribbon-like finish. Perfect. Best from 2022.

Composed of 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 70% new and 30% one-year-old barrels, the 2015 Canon is boldly fruited with blackberry preserves, black cherry compote, fruitcake, mocha and plum preserves with suggestions of Indian spices, licorice and black olives. Full-bodied and packed with ripe, rich dried berries and exotic spice layers, it has a firm, slightly chewy structure and just enough freshness (the pH is 3.78), finishing long and savory. Give it another 2-3 years of cellaring to soften its edges and allow its flavor spectrum to fully emerge, and drink it over the next 20 to 25+ year.

Chateau Canon 2015 1er Grand Cru Classe B Saint EmilionAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Canon 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

From the very beginning, the 2015 Canon has made an eloquent case for itself as one of the wines of the vintage. Multiple tastings from bottle only confirm what several early tastings hinted at: the 2015 Canon is simply extraordinary in every way. Sumptuous and exotic, with no hard edges and exceptional balance, the 2015 grabs hold of all the senses and never lets up. A rush of red fruit intermingled with floral notes, spice and smoke notes effortlessly runs up the wine's vertical structure as the 2015 thrills with every twist and turn. The 2015 Canon is a rare wine that is both hedonistic and intellectual - well, maybe it is a bit more hedonistic-leaning. It doesn't matter. Don't miss it. This 2015 is masterpiece from General Manager Nicolas Auderbert and his team at Canon.

Chateau Pindefleurs 2012 Saint Emilion Grand Cru

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2010 1er Grand Cru Classe St. Emilion
99 Parker Punkte
Inky, bluish/black/purple, with notes of spring flowers, licorice, camphor, graphite, and a boatload of blueberry, black raspberry and blackberry fruit, this is a powerful, full-bodied Troplong Mondot. All the building components of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol are judiciously and impressively integrated. It is a blend of 90% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc made by Christine Valette and her husband Xavier Pariente with the consultancy help of Michel Rolland. I-m not sure what the heady alcohol level is in Troplong Mondot in 2010 (it certainly must be in the 15%+ range), but it is well-concealed behind the extravagant, richness, full-bodied power, and pure nobility of this majestic wine. Forget this for 5-7 years and drink it over the following three decades.

An absolutely stunning wine from this estate, which seems to be on a mission to produce exquisite world-class wines with enormous aging potential, the 2010 is showing better from bottle than it even did from barrel.

Full-bodied and full-throttle in the mouth, the palate is decadently packed with a solid core of black and blue fruit layers, supported with firm, grainy tannins and finishing with loads of spicy layers. This pedal-to-the-metal beauty is the ultimate indulgence for the hedonists!

One of the stars of the vintage, the 2015 Troplong Mondot has come together beautifully over the last year and half. Rich and sumptuous to the core, it is a classic wine from this property, built on serious fruit density and textural richness. Dark red cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and spice are some of the many notes that build as the 2015 shows off its irrepressible personality. A viscerally exciting, resonant wine, it just needs a few years to shed some of its baby fat. Tasted two times.

Intense aromas of wet earth, leaves, sweet berries and cinnamon follow through to a full body, velvety and dense tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Opulent style. Just opening now, but this shows lots of stuffing, even if it does tighten down on the palate. Integrated and fine. Drink or hold.

Tasted at the Château Figeac vertical at the property and then in Bordeaux a year later. The 2010 Figeac was a "problem child" in its youth, very variable and difficult to pin down, vexing on occasion. Now with a couple of years in bottle, it is really beginning to show what it can do and it far surpassed my expectations. Certainly, it is more withdrawn on the nose compared to the more generous 2009 Figeac. The aromatics are holding everything back. Then, with continued aeration it reveals a subtle marine influence—seaweed and sea spray scents, estuary mudflats. The palate is medium-bodied with moderate depth, but what really distinguishes this wine are the fineness of the tannin, the symmetry of the structure and freshness on the finish, facets hitherto kept secret. As such, it surpasses the 2009, the weightless but intense finish beckoning you to take another sip. The aromatics need to up their game and match what's evolving on the palate—if they do, this will be a very serious Figeac. Tasted July 2016.

The recent leaps and bounds in improvements that have occurred at this great estate, equating to a dramatic increase in intensity and complexity—without compromising the husky, soft-spoken, sultry voice that is Figeac—is a monumental achievement. Kudos to Frederic Faye and his team for so beautifully expressing what was clearly an extraordinary vintage at Chateau Figeac! Blended of 29% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 28% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Figeac reveals vibrant black cherries, cassis, red currants, black plums and licorice notes with touches of cigar boxes, bouquet garni, potpourri, damp soil and black pepper. Medium-bodied, delicately crafted and with nuanced, quietly intense layers of vivacious red and black fruits, the palate features a solid frame of polished, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and minerally.

Powerful and yet also light on its feet, it is wonderfully complex from start to finish. Plum, mocha, spice, new leather and menthol gradually open up, but the 2015 is most remarkable for its sensual perfume and exceptional overall balance. This is the first vintage the winemaking team followed a new protocol designed to maintain purity of fruit and aromas by reducing contact with oxygen during the first year of aging. Robert M. Parker, jr. March 2015

Another wine made by the superstar guru Nicolas Thienpont, this well-situated property of 37 acres on the high clay/limestone plateau in St.-Emilion has produced a blend of 84 % Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. A masculine, virile style of wine with an inky deep purple color, lots of crème de cassis and crushed rock and high tannin. This is thick and powerful, with a layered mouthfeel, good purity, earthiness and spice. Forget it for 4-5 years and drink if over the following two decades.

One of the highlights of the vintage, the 2015 Pavie Macquin is positively stellar. A veritable explosion of super-ripe red cherry, rose petal and mocha makes a strong opening statement. The 2015 Château Croix Cardinale is a blend of 72% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc, and was cropped at 30 hectoliters per hectare between October 5-20. It has a pleasant, lilting, raspberry coulis and strawberry preserve-scented bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well-judged acidity, balanced and poised with a delineated, slightly earthy finish that has just the right amount of dryness to urge another sip. This is a well-crafted Saint Émilion from the Decoster family that should age well.

70 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc, 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Wuchtiges Bouquet mit schwarzen Kirschen, Cassis, Rauch und Lakritze. Beim zweiten Ansatz erste, feine Kräuternoten zeigend. P.S. Die Wertung ist ohne Vitamin B entstanden. Der Wein ist wirklich so sensationell.

Super-ripe, inky red plum, spice, leather and espresso nuances build into the huge, voluptuous finish. There is more than enough structure to allow the 2015 to age well for many years. Chateau Faugeres 2015 mit 92 Punkten bei Robert ParkerLisa Perrotti Brown bewetet den Chateau Faugeres 2015 wie folgt:

The 2015 Faugeres is a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 15 months in French oak, 50% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it has a nose of baked plums, warm cherries and black berries with touches of meat and fried spices. The full-bodied mouth is rich, opulent and spicy with firm, velvety tannins and lovely freshness lifting the finish.

Chateau Faugeres 2015 mit 95 Punkten bei James SucklingJames Suckling bewertet den Chateau Faugeres 2015 wie folgt:

Very deep-set aromas of blackberries and red and dark plum fruits, set amid integrated oak spices, cedar and hints of earth. The palate has a super plush feel with intense flavors of blueberries and dark plums. Succulent tannins that are smooth, entrancing and very long. Try from 2022.

Chateau Faugeres 2015 mit 93 Punkten ausgezeichnet bei Vinous -Antonio Galloni-Antonio Galloni von Vinous bewertet den Chateau Faugeres 2015 wie folgt:

The 2015 Faugères is plush, deep and inviting. Succulent red cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar, licorice and new leather are some of the many nuances that take shape, and attractive floral notes add brightness and lift. This is a very pretty and alluring Saint-Émilion from Silvio Denz. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasted two times. -Antonio Galloni-

The 2015 Fombrauge is very pretty. Succulent red cherry, mint and rose petal give the wine an attractive upper register and a good deal of freshness to balance the overt fruit. Powerful and rich, the 2015 has quite a bit to offer. Raspberry jam, mocha, espresso, rose petal and spice add the closing shades of nuance. Readers should expect a fairly bold style - as is the case with all of Bernard Magrez's wines - but Fombrauge is not quite as opulent as Magrez-Fombrauge. The blend is 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times.

Neal Martin bewertet den Clos de L Oratoire 2015 im April 2016:
The 2015 Clos de la L´Oratoire is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc picked between 25-30 September at 45 hl/ha. Matured in 40% new oak, it has perhaps the most reticent bouquet at the moment, yet there is very pure dark cherry and blackberry fruit here, very "cool" aromatically and with several swirls of the glass it begins to find its voice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin. There is good density here, very well balanced, very precise with perhaps the best tension on the finish that I have discerned in this particular Saint Emilion. This comes highly recommended.

Structured yet fine and shows such finesse. Give it five or six years to come together.

The 2015 Canon La Gaffelière is deep, powerful and explosive. Seamless and captivating in the glass, it possesses magnificent richness, volume and intensity in every dimension. The Cabernet Franc, usually such a strong signature, is nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the Merlot fruit. Espresso, mocha, licorice and plum infuse the racy finish. The 2015 is going to need the better part of a decade to be expressive. Tasted two times.

Chateau Canon la Gaffeliere 2015 mit Parker Punkten ausgezeichnetLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Canon La Gaffeliere 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

Composed of 55% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in French oak, 55% new, for 17 months, the 2015 Canon la Gaffeliere features a deep garnet-purple color and a cedar-laced nose to begin, giving way to fragrant underlying scents of roses and violets with a core of crushed black currants, blackberries and Bing cherries plus hints of fallen leaves and dusty earth. Medium to full-bodied, the seductively perfumed red and black fruit fills the mouth, framed with plush tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing very long and minerally.

Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 mit 94+ Parker Punkten bewertetLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:

The 2015 Clos Fourtet is a blend of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc, and it was picked between 18 September and 12 October. It has a voluminous bouquet with sweet cassis and blueberry aromas, rather smudged with violets coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannin, ripe and voluptuous, dark chocolate infusing the red and black fruit with a touch of mint on the structured, graceful finish. What a fabulous Saint Emilion from Mathieu Cuvelier and his team - Clos Fourtet with breeding and class. It deserves 5-8 years in bottle.

Chateau Clos Fourtet 2015 Saint Emilion mit 97 Punkten bei VinousAntonio Galloni bewertet den Clos Fourtet 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

Clos Fourtet is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty in 2015. Powerful, vivid and wonderfully nuanced, it exudes class. Inky red/purplish stone fruit, lavender, spice, mint and orange peel give the 2015 its myriad shades of nuance, but it is the wine's balance and total sense of harmony that elevate it to the realm of the profound. In 2015, Clos Fourtet has a bit more body and resonance than is typically the case. Beneath all of the fruit, however, the 2015 has more than enough energy and structural underpinning to drink well for many years. This is a stunning wine from the Cuvelier family and consulting winemakers Stéphane Derenoncourt and Julien Lavenu. The blend is 88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times.

There’s gorgeous purity here, with cassis, loganberry and raspberry fruit carried by a lightly brambly feel, giving this more weight
and grip than previous vintages. The chalky thread is there and really extends through the finish but is easily absorbed overall.
Ends with lovely bergamot and rooibos tea notes. Best from 2022 through 2035.—J.M.

Blue fruits, minerals, lavender and licorice aromas are wonderful. Full body and ultra-refined tannins with an integration and refinement that make the wines seamless and beautiful. The powerful tannins hide from you at first, but what structure in the end. It goes on for minutes. Try in 2024.

Belair Monange 2015 mit 98+ Punkten bei Robert ParkerLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Belair Monange 2015 am 21.02.2018 wie folgt:
This perhaps somewhat controversial marriage between the estates of Chateau Belair and Chateau Magdelaine—both Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion estates—to form Chateau Bélair Monange hits pay-dirt with this spectacular 2015 release. Composed of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Belair Monange has the most singular nose of grilled meats, smoked game, iron ore and fallen leaves over a slowly unfurling ripe fruit core of crushed black plums, blackberry preserves and cassis with fragrant touches of star anise and potpourri. Full-bodied, rich and opulent in the mouth, the palate reveals an arresting backbone of exquisitely ripe, very firm tannins and sparks of background acidity lifting and defining the rich, densely packed layers, culminating in an epically long and multifaceted finish. Possessing its own compellingly beautiful signature, this is a remarkably riveting wine that should not be missed.

Chateau Belair Monange 2015 Saint Emilion mit 98 Punkten bei VinousAntonio Galloni bewertet den Belair Monange 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

A huge, intense Saint-Émilion, the Bélair-Monange is just as impressive from bottle as it was from cask. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that the wine is going to need at least a decade to shed some of its considerable baby fat. A rush of super-ripe black cherry, game, smoke and tobacco hits the palate as this dramatic, unrestrained Saint-Émilion shows off its explosive personality. The 2015 speaks with an assertive voice that demands attention – and it got mine, that’s for sure. The blend is 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.

Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf 2015 Saint Emilion Grand Cru mit 98+ Punkten bei Robert ParkerLisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf 2015 im April 2018 wie folgt:

The 2015 Le Tertre Roteboeuf is deep garnet-purple in color with a gorgeous nose of baked cherries, warm plums, crème de cassis and mulberries with touches of rare beef, violets, mocha, Chinese five spice and fertile loam. Full-bodied, rich, spicy and with firm, grainy tannins, it has seamless freshness and a very long, spicy finish. This is wonderfully seamless and harmonious.

Chateau Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf 2015 Saint Emilion Grand Cru mit 97 Punkten bei VinousAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

A heady, exotic wine, the 2015 Tertre-Rôteboeuf exudes richness and intensity. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, espresso, chocolate, spice and licorice infuse this voluptuous, racy Saint-Émilion. Dense, powerful and explosive, it just gets better and better with time in the glass. Super-ripe cherry and plum fruit are laced with scents of tobacco, licorice, incense and white truffle that add nuance. What a gorgeous wine this is! Proprietor François Mitjavile isn't afraid to be a contrarian. While many estates opt for shorter aging, Mitjavile gives his wine two full years in 100% new oak and also keeps the cellar on the warm side during the winter months. The 2015 was bottled in September 2017.

A great wine with superb concentration and richness.
Yet it's ever so agile and polished. Spices, blueberries, cinnamon and dried flowers.
Full body and polished and full tannins. Great length. The refinement to the tannins is amazing.
Compacted. Essence-like. Needs five or six years to open.

Try in 2025.

A blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Angelus reveals a deep garnet-purple color and fragrant aromas of crushed red currants, warm plums and pencil shavings with hints of incense, sage, violets and tobacco. Full-bodied, very fine and intense yet exquisitely delicate with wonderful freshness, it has ripe yet firm, very finely grained tannins and an epically long, perfumed finish. With bags of perfume and a captivating plushness, this Angelus is a real head-turner!

This is really something. Sort of speechless when I taste it. It shows evocative aromas of wet earth, oyster shell, dust, tile, blackberries and blueberries. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a length and intensity that is so, so fine. A wine in perfect harmony. Complete. Hard not not to drink.
Energetic and balanced. Better to wait for 10 years. Try in 2028.

In 2015, the blend is 60% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the wine was matured 80% in new French oak. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pavie is still sporting a bit of its oak to begin, giving way to a glorious nose of crushed black cherries, blackberries and mulberries plus hints of dried roses, stewed tea, unsmoked cigars and garrigue. The rich, concentrated, full-bodied palate delivers an incredible structure of very firm, very ripe tannins and a racy line of freshness cutting through the dense layers of perfumed black fruits and savory notions, finishing with epic length.

Chateau Pavie 2015 Saint Emilion von Vinous mit 98 Punkten geadeltAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Pavie 2015 wie folgt:

Heady, exotic and absolutely compelling, the 2015 Pavie is one of the standouts of the vintage. Soaring aromatics meld into a core of super-ripe red plum, cherry jam, rose petal, mint and lavender in this sensual, voluptuous Saint-Émilion. Even with all of its flamboyance, the 2015 possesses remarkable nuance and delineation. This is an overwhelmingly beautiful wine that seduces both the intellectual and hedonistic senses. Don't miss it. Tasted two times.

Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe ALisa Perrotti Brown bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 im April 2016:

As many readers may know, 2015 was the first year since 1988 that Cheval Blanc did not produce its second wine, Petit Cheval. This said, parts of two of the Cheval Blanc blocks were not used at all—Plot 17A and the north part of Plot 10—which had problems with water availability during the dry spell, and the fruit was sold for bulk. Therefore, this vintage of the Grand Vin equates to roughly 90% of the total production, making it one of the most complete expressions of Cheval Blanc ever produced. Composed of 53% Merlot and 47% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cheval Blanc slowly opens up to reveal plum preserves, black forest cake, blackberry pie and pronounced licorice notes with suggestions of cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise, dried Provence herbs and lavender plus wafts of iron ore and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, rich and densely packed with incredible layers of black, red and blue fruits, it completely fills the palate with energy and expression, framed by very ripe, wonderfully velvety tannins and a racy line of acid, finishing with incredible length and poise. At once achingly graceful and captivatingly cerebral, this is a legendary vintage for this great estate.

Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe AJames Suckling bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

Phenomenal aromas of cherries, flowers, blackberries and sandalwood. Pure fruit. Full-bodied, dense and polished with incredible tannin quality like the finest, densest silk ball. In perfect proportions. Compact. Seamless and endless. Gorgeous to taste now but give it six or seven years to understand it better.

Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classe AAntonio Galloni bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 im Februar 2018 wie folgt:

Totally seamless in the glass, with no beginning and no end, the 2015 Cheval Blanc is simply extraordinary. It's hard to describe the 2015, because all of its elements are so perfectly in place. Beautifully delineated aromatics make a strong opening statement. Vibrant and wonderfully nuanced on the palate, the wine exudes energy and vitality through to the persistent, silky finish. Many other 2015s speak with more assertiveness and volume, but Cheval Blanc is more understsated. In 2015, Cheval Blanc created quite a stir in announcing that a whopping 91% of their crop would be bottled as Grand Vin. There will be no Petit Cheval, while the rest of the wine was sold internally.

Weinwisser / Rene Gabriel bewertet den Chateau Cheval Blanc 2015 wie folgt:

55 % Merlot, 45 % Cabernet Franc.
