Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau de Bel Air 2015 im April 2016
The 2015 Château de Bel-Air, a Lalande-de-Pomerol that is now distributed through JP Moueix, is a blend of 75% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a more tertiary-driven bouquet with undergrowth scents peeking through the carapace of black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with thickset tannin, nicely judged acidity, smooth in texture with a harmonious, slightly saline finish. It feels a little curmudgeonly at the moment, but I suspect it will brighten up by the time of bottling.

Chateau Bourgneuf 2010 Pomerol
94 Punkte James Suckling

Really attractive nose with wild strawberries, raspberries and roses petals. Dark plums and red cherries with some sweet tobacco and black pepper. Full-bodied and intensely juicy on the palate with velvety tannins, and a beautiful finish with licorice and some vanilla from the new wood. So attractive now but leave it alone for four or five years.

This has a dark, slightly chewy edge for now, but the core of crushed plum, blackberry and boysenberry fruit should absorb that with cellaring. Dark ganache and graphite frame the finish, which features a racy, acidic spine. Should unfurl nicely with age. Best from 2015 through 2025. 2,000 cases made. –JM

Rober M. Parker Jr. April 2015

Close to perfection, this extraordinary blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc seems to have hit all the high notes in 2012. Inky ruby/purple with stunning concentration, a multidimensional mouthfeel, skyscraper-like texture and fabulous purity of blue, red and black fruits, this is a tour de force from this estate owned by Christian Moueix. The potential complexity and sheer compelling quality of Hosanna is amazing. Aromatically, this may be the most profound wine of the vintage. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

Tipp:

With a dense purple color and gorgeous levels of fruit, especially black raspberry and blackcurrant, this full-bodied, opulent style of wine is another great success for Clinet, a château that has been on top of its game for the last decade. This is stunning stuff, and whatever new oak has been used – and there is plenty – it is totally disguised by the luxurious and extravagant fruit level. This full-bodied, opulent Pomerol should drink well for 15 or more years.

Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Bourgneuf 2015 im April 2016:
The 2015 Château Bourgneuf has a crisp and quite earthy, blackberry and briary scented bouquet that just needs to coalesce during its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with steely tannin, quite pointed acidity, fresh in the mouth with moderate weight, hints of licorice surfacing towards the linear finish. Note that a second sample at JP Moueix showed more elegance and poise on the velvety finish. Give this 3-5 years in bottle.

The 2015 La Pointe is a blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc, picked between 27 September for the younger vines for the second wines, and 1 October for the heart of the Merlot, the Cabernet picked 8 and 12 October. Eric Monnoret told me that the 2015 was matured in 50% new oak. It has a comparatively flamboyant bouquet compared to recent vintages of La Pointe, with opulent red berry fruit, kirsch, cassis and patina of tar. The palate is medium-bodied, firm in the mouth at the moment, quite structured, the oak nicely integrated with a slightly savory finish. This is a robust La Pointe, quite spicy in the mouth with a long aftertaste. It will gain more harmony during its élevage.

Chateau Gazin 2015 Pomerol
94-96 Parker Punkte
Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Gazin 2015 im April 2016:
The 2015 Gazin has a perfumed bouquet with layers of black cherry, raspberry coulis and truffle scents, more welcoming and sensual than the wines a decade ago from barrel when they intermittently felt under-ripe. There is none of that here for sure. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit on the entry. There is excellent structure here, a masculine Gazin with plenty of grip, counterbalanced by abundant tertiary, tobacco-tinged black fruit. There is real salinity towards the finish, completing a superb wine by Nicolas de Bailliencourt and his team. Do not overlook this Pomerol. It is one of the subtler expressions of the 2015 vintage and one that I am sure will develop beautifully in cask.

The 2015 Château Feytit-Clinet has a perfumed and floral bouquet, wilted violets filtering through the dark cherry and cassis fruit, gaining more complexity as it opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin that are cloaked in layers of lightly toasted dark berry fruit, the new oak a little obvious at the moment, yet there is more than sufficient fruit to subsume all that with 6-8 years in bottle. Jeremy Chasseuil has created another exemplary Pomerol from this estate that continues to threaten to break into the big league. This is absolutely delicious and it deserves the great recognition that this wine currently attracts.

The 2015 Feytit-Clinet is one of the most exciting, viscerally thrilling wines of the vintage. Graphite, smoke, charcoal, violets, and a host of intense, dark fruits make a strong first impression. Vertical and towering in the glass, the 2015 possesses magnificent intensity to match its virile, brooding personality. There is a sense of explosive energy in the 2015 that is simply compelling. Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol

94-96 Parker Punkte

Neal Martin bewertet den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol im April 2016:
The 2015 Clos l'Eglise was picked on 8, 14 and 23 September apropos the Merlot and the Cabernet Franc on 23 September. Co-proprietor Hélène Garçin-Léveque told me that for the first time, Clos l'Eglise was one of the first Pomerols to be picked since they felt that the grapes were fully ripe. So why wait? That clearly is vindicated by the bouquet with ebullient, ripe blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, almost Burgundy-like in terms of its purity. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine, tensile tannin, brimming over with energy, tightly packed towards the more linear finish than usual. This is a Clos l'Eglise built for long-term bottle ageing, though I suspect it will actually come round a little earlier than usual. A wonderful Pomerol, almost understated, but full of personality.

Rene Gabriel bewertet den Clos L Eglise 2015 Pomerol mit:
18 / 20 Punkte
Also; let's see in 10 years.

OMG. This is really dense and rich with velvety tannins and so much fruit and length. Super concentration and structure. Greatest Clinet ever. No jam. Just class.

95 - 97 Parker Punkte

Neal Martin bewertet den Chateau Clinet 2015 im April 2016:
The 2015 Clinet is a blend of 90% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc, cropped at 37 hl/ha and matured in 65% new oak. It was picked from 15 September commencing with the young Merlot vines, and finishing between 28 and 1 October with the very old Merlots and the Cabernets. A couple of specific features to note: the alcohol level is 14.3%, perhaps a little lower than some of Clinet's peers and also a IPT of up to 88, higher than 2010 even. Broody at first, it eventually develops a perfumed bouquet as it opens, with black fruit, melted tar and a brush of black truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. There is plenty of nascent energy in this Clinet, spicier than other vintages that I have tasted over the years, linear at first and then fanning out towards the finish with a dash of white pepper on the aftertaste. It is a very harmonious Clinet, one that I suspect will favor those with the nous to age this Pomerol for 5-7 years, even though it might tempt you earlier. This is a great Pomerol from Ronan Laborde and his team.

Esperance de Trotanoy 2014 Pomerol
Zweitwein von Chateau Trotanoy
90% Merlot 10% Cabernet Franc

Purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 1953, Château Trotanoy was considered one of the premier crus of Pomerol as of the eighteenth century.
Since 2009, a selection of gravel-based parcels on the north-eastern part of the estate have been dedicated to Espérance de Trotanoy, a wine that is fruit-forward and approachable after just a few years of cellaring, but that maintains the depth, complexity, and incredible concentration of flavor that are so characteristic of Trotanoy’s unique terroir.
The Trotanoy vineyard, located in one of the best-exposed areas of the plateau and spared, in part, by the dramatic frosts of 1956, slopes gently to the west. The soil is a very dense mixture of clay and gravel which tends to solidify as it dries out after rain to an almost concrete-like hardness, hence the name “Trot-anoy,” — “too wearisome” to cultivate.
The soil at the highest point of exposure contains a good proportion of gravel, becoming progressively more dominated by clay as the elevation declines. Under this clay is a subsoil of red gravel and an impermeable layer of hard, iron-rich soil known as “crasse de fer.” This fascinating soil diversity brings power, depth and complexity to the wines.
Espérance de Trotanoy, which is produced in limited quantities and only in certain years, is vinified in small concrete vats and aged in French oak barrels.

Dense, featuring a loamy edge that runs throughout, while the core of crushed plum, fig and blackberry fruit plays out slowly.
Licorice root and warm stone notes pervade the finish. A bit brooding, but give this time, as the lurking fresh bay, tobacco and
iron elements should develop with age. Best from 2020 through 2035.—J.M.

The 2014 Trotanoy had (que surprise!) closed down on the nose compared to its JP Moueix stablemates. A few swirls of the glass and it reveals very precise, mineral-soaked black fruit laced with black truffle and subtle sous-bois aromas. It soon gathers momentum and the aromas were gaining more and more intensity after five minutes. The palate is outstanding. There is brilliant structure here, immense and almost staggering purity, incredible focus and tension with an electrifying spiciness on the finish. Best Pomerol of the vintage? The only thing wrong with that last sentence is the question mark at the end.

The 2014 Vieux Chateau Certan is a blend of 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, picked in three stages: 19-20 September, 29 September to 2 October, and 7 and 8 October. The yields came in at 38.7 hectoliters per hectare with 13.4% alcohol. It was one of my stars of the vintage and now in bottle, I find no reason to change that. It is endowed with an exquisite bouquet, really one of the best I encountered throughout my tastings: perfumed blackberry, wild strawberry, cold stone and wilted rose petals. Like in barrel, it is not powerful, yet it is blessed with wondrous precision. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity and fine tannin, a slightly masculine VCC due to its linearity and precision. There is tension here from start to finish, a sophisticated and cerebral Pomerol that transcends the growing season. It is a totally different kettle of fish to the 2015 (and doubtless the pre-natal 2016). This is unashamedly classic in style, fanning out towards the mineral-rich finish with great frisson and energy. A cellar without the 2014 Vieux-Château-Certan would be a great pity.

Much more sweet fruit than others with honeysuckle perfume. Fascinating. Medium to full body, very fine tannins and a super finish of ripe-strawberry character. Yet everything’s always in check and class. Give it five or six years of bottle to see its true greatness.

Packed, with raspberry, blackberry and boysenberry confiture notes, this features dense but perfectly rounded grip and a long, authoritative finish that ripples with charcoal and smoldering tobacco leaf details. Serious juice. Tasted non-blind.-J.M.

Neal Martin bewertet den Chaeau La Fleur Petrus 2014 aus Pomerol im März 2017 wie folgt:
The 2014 La Fleur Petrus is impressive out of barrel and it continues to evince quality now in bottle. It has a lovely, engaging bouquet with vivacious redcurrant and cranberry fruit, superb mineralité and energy, real focus and a sense of drive in situ. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a sense of symmetry and poise from start to finish. It has perhaps turned into a slightly more elegant and feminine wine than I anticipated, less bullish than the Hosanna. But there is real complexity on the finish with black pepper and clove lingering on the aftertaste. This is superb.
